March 4, 2024

A very nice good morning to you, we hope your day is getting off to a good start. It is warm here in Hewitt, 65 degrees before the sun comes up, and we should hit the low 80s again today.

We went to Dave and Claires homestead yesterday afternoon to celebrate our favorite grandson’s birthday, a day early. In the photo we see the birthday cookie with candles lit.

Today is his birthday and he is supposed to come over to our homestead today and work. Wow, work on his birthday!

We need to get the front yard fertilized, there is some trimming along the curb, drive, and walkway that needs to happen. There is one flower bed than needs to be cleaned out, there are leaves that I had piled against the hot house that need to be removed, the back 40 needs to be mowed, and we have a sprinkler head that needs to be replaced. So, I think there is enough work for the yard man.

Other than a birthday party, what did the Don do yesterday, almost nothing. He did go out back and replaced the very heavy cement bird bath, which the tree trimming people had moved and did not replace. After the successful replacement he then filled it with water, he put water in the dog bowl, he watered the flower beds and the black berry beds and the flowers in the hot house. We would like to get the flowers out of the hot house, but we can’t be sure it will not freeze again. I think spring starts later this month. Photo of the flower near the door of the hot house, most are blooming in the hot house.

We did wash the dog out in the back 40 yesterday afternoon, and then we headed for our seats on the swing near the driveway. We enjoyed a cold drink; the weather was nice, and I did run the lawn sprinklers. I still need to do some adjusting to a couple sprinkler heads.

It was a pleasant Sunday afternoon. Well, I guess I will stop writing now, we hope you have a pleasant day and please stay safe.

Yard man’s birthday.

Senior ole person who hopes to supervise some yard work, Don the Ford

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
