    The lawn sprinklers have run, the sun is shining, I am alive and my favorite wife is being nice to me, I say it is a good morning.  

                The above photo is of a rose bush with yellow blooms except for one bloom with some red on it. Then I have a photo of a couple blooms on the top of a rose bush, and you can see the cross in the background.

                What do you need to know about yesterday. I did get a cup of my addiction, aka coffee from the star coffee place. Alex made it to ROTC on time, back at home I rested before reading from the bible. I did get a check from the insurance company due to no longer owning the pickup truck, which I took to the bank and deposited. I went to the grocery store for a few items and then my favorite wife allowed me to take her to supper at the restaurant. Food was good and service was extra good.

                What happened when we returned home after supper, I went to work on the trailer. I needed to remove the old lights and then install the new lights. I was required to crawl around on the ground under the trailer removing the old wires and then installing the new wires. A 92-year-old person should not be crawling around on the ground under a trailer, and I should not either. I should say the grass was nice and tall, which helped make it a little more comfortable and I did get it all installed. Now I need Alex’s pickup to come over and see if the lights work.

                Work completed, I took a shower hoping to get rid of any chiggers and bugs, then we sat outside the rest of the afternoon.

                Big plan for today, rest…

                I am starting this Wednesday afternoon at about 7:00pm. So, if you get a good morning, it will come later, sorry…

                My favorite wife started the day off working in the garage. She had decided to clean out two shelves, each being 36 X 96 inches, (that is 3 feet by 8 foot) and relocate the items. She was out there all day, and I would offer help and most often I was rejected.

                I asked Alex to come over and pull some weeds and he agreed. I picked him up and got him started. I asked him to work in the shade and stay out of the sun. While he was pulling weeds I was removing some of the bigger items like small trees and trimming the roses. We both worked and became hot and sweaty. I took him home and I returned and took a shower.

                I went into Waco to get some lights for the trailer, and I also purchased some rubber gloves. While I was in Waco, I dropped off a couple cartons of dolls at the Salvation Army donation place. These dolls were the kind you would display more than play with, but they could be played with by a kid. 

                Back at home I did work on a lamp that had a bad switch. It took a while, but I was able to remove and then replace the switch.

                It was late afternoon before I was able to start reading the bible. The reading was still good even in the afternoon. Now you know my Wednesday events.

 

                Good morning to you all, we are predicted to have another very hot day here in Texas. It is a little cloudy this morning as the day starts.

My big plans for the day are to get Alex to ROTC on time and safely then I might attempt to install the new taillights on the trailer. These are temporary taillights as they are attached with large magnets. I will need to get the wires installed and then the lights are easy. I am not sure what other things I might do, if any.

I will get off here and go get Alex, we hope you have a good day and please stay safe in all you do.

Good morning to you. We are starting off the day with some clouds, and I would like to have my yard man here to work as it is cooler this morning with the clouds. Usually, I get him to come over about 9:00, but it's going to be hot and the work he would be doing he needs to be doing in the shade, like pulling weeds out of our flower beds and the weeds in the ditch behind the house.

Yesterday: I needed to take Alex to school by 8:30. I got to his house way too early, so I decided to take a little time and go get a cup of coffee as we headed to school. Coffee Purchased and a slow drive to school we still arrived before he needed to be there, so we found a place to park and wait until the proper time for him to go in. We sat there a while and then he saw a friend that's in ROTC and he got out and went with him and I left there heading for the Barber shop.

The Barber shop doesn't open until 9:00 when I arrived at the parking lot for the Barber shop, it was 8:30. Yep, I had to wait 1/2 hour. I did observe 2 of the barbers went inside and when they went in they locked the door behind them. I also observed another fellow pulled up in a pickup truck beside me he got out of his truck and went up to the door and learned that it was locked. He then walked back to where I was sitting and asked what time is it, I told him it was 8:40 and he said, wow I got here too early. He returned to his truck.

Another man pulled up in his car got out walked up to the door found out it was locked got back in his car and sat and waited. Then a lady pulled up and went to the door found out that it was locked and was standing outside the door waiting. The fellow in the truck beside me asked do you think that shop next door has coffee I said yes probably, he said you want to go get a cup. I raised up the cup I had in my hand and said sorry I already got it. He then said do you think we ought to go and stand at the door with the rest of them and I said yes, I think we should, so we went to the door.

A few minutes after we made it to the door, they unlocked the door and we all went inside. I, being the first one in the parking lot, got first seat for a haircut and the others in the order that they arrived.

Back at home I did rest for a while took it easy then I did my Bible reading. About 11:00 I got a call from Alex Saying he was ready to go home. I drove over to the school picked him up and he was wanting to get an iced tea, so we went to the chicken place and got iced teas I took him on home I returned to my house.

I had placed the old mower out front of our house near the street hoping that someone would stop by and take it. As I was in the driveway the neighbor lady came over and asked what was wrong with the mower. I explained that it was very hard to start but once it got started and running, it mowed good and after it was warmed up it was easy to start. She took it to her house and called her daughter and told them to come over and get it and see if they liked it. I saw the daughter and her boyfriend arrive. They started it up twice, they put it in the pickup truck and took it home. So, I got rid of the old mower and they got a mower to use at their house without paying.

My favorite wife and I rested outside yesterday afternoon for a while, then I decided that I was going to go check the trailer as the taillights do not work. After removing and checking the lights out I realized I might need to replace them, not just the bulbs but the lights themselves.

Our time outside completed, I warmed up supper we ate supper and then just kind of took it easy until bedtime.

I have no big plans for today other than possibly if it would get cloudy trying to get Alex over here to do some work. I will stop for now we hope you have a good day stay safe in all you do and be nice to at least one person today.

                It seems as if we are starting another good morning here, in Hewitt. We understand there are good mornings elsewhere, so if you are not in Hewitt, we hope you are elsewhere.

                Yesterday's events: we had a good day yesterday we decided to get Alex to come over and mow the front yard as it was dry and tall. On the way to get Alex, I saw a neat sunrise.

He mowed the front yard, and we checked the backyard and it was dry enough to be mowed so he mowed it also. I would like to note that he does a very good job of mowing and trimming. I had noticed a neighbor boy in his front yard mowing, but when he finished, I thought to myself he didn't understand what the entire job of mowing is. There were weeds standing at the edge of the driveway over a foot tall, so he did not run the mower over those for some reason. But that is none of my business so I shouldn't talk about it.

                At one point there was thunder, so Alex came inside and my phone indicated there was lightning within 5 miles of us. The mowing paused at that point, and we drove to the chicken place and got a big ole tea. Back at home the short sprinkles of rain had stopped and there was no more thunder, so the trimming continued.

                My favorite wife and I sat outside yesterday and enjoyed the afternoon. It was hot but there was a good breeze, so we didn't have to have the big old fan blowing on us. Our daughter-in-law came over and picked blackberries, and she got more than two gallons yesterday. Yep, there's a lot of blackberries out there.

                Today: After dropping Alex off at ROTC, which is at school, I then drove over to get my weekly stipend from the bank's teller machine. Would you believe we have increased our weekly stipend from $5.00 to $8.00 as everything is getting more expensive.

I went up to the haircut place this morning and sat there and waited for almost 1/2 an hour before they opened. Yep, Alex had to be at school early and I had to sit in the parking lot and wait to get in. I was the first customer, so I got my hair cut quickly and I'm now back at home working on this blog. No plans at all for today...

                Good morning to all, the day seems to be starting off nice.

                Yesterday’s events: during the morning I did read from the bible, and we did go to the cracker store for lunch. There was no waiting to get to our table and the food was good. Back home we rested for a while.

                After the rest period, I then started washing the clothes and I vacuumed the floor. Housework started I decide to attempt to cleaned out the Fords new Chevy while I kept an eye on the washer and dryer.

There was mud on the wheelchair we used at the DMV last week and it had gotten on the floor at the back of the vehicle. I decided to get the shop vac which has not been used for several years. The shop vac did work and as I was cleaning the vehicle the sweat was dripping off me causing more cleaning problems. I am saying it was hot!

                After cleaning the inside of the vehicle, we did set outside with the big ole fan blowing on us as it was very hot. My favorite wife suggested that a flower bed needed to be trimmed and I, being a nice husband, went to work trimming. I used the battery powered hedge trimmer to trim most of the flowers, then the battery went dead. Yep, I had to finish the trimming by hand. The photo of the bloom is one of the flowers I was trimming.

Then I had to rake up cut flowers which meant I had to walk all the way out to the shed to get a rake. While in the back yard I saw that we have a tomato on one plant.

I was then allowed to put the cuttings into the trash cart and move it out to the curb.

                I checked on the dryer as all the clothes had been washed and the remainder was in the dryer. Wow, was it time to sit down and rest? Nope, I decide to wash the Fords new Chevy. I pulled the hose from the back yard to the driveway, I got a bucket and soap and started the washing process. The vehicle wasn’t too dirty so the work wasn’t too difficult to wash it. I used the leaf blower to get some of the water off and a towel for other water.

                That work completed I emptied the dryer and had several items on hangers that needed to be put away. Wow I was then able to sit down with my favorite wife and rest for a few minutes. It was about 8:00pm and we had not had supper, so my favorite wife headed into the house, and I Parked the vehicle in garage.

I then came into the house to prepare supper. After supper I worked on some notes for this posting.

                Today plans who knows…

Good Sunday Morning to you and that other person too.  

When the rain finished yesterday, our rain gage indicated a lot of rain (almost 4 inches), see photo.

                We have a lot of drone deliveries from Amazon, and two of our neighbors got a delivery via the drone this week. I did get a photo.

                The drone in the photo was going back up as it had already gone down close to the ground and dropped off the item. They are not too noisy, but you can hear the sound of the propellers from the electric motors. 

                Dave and Brice came over yesterday to get the trailer as they used it to get a couch for Brice and Gabi’s apartment. They cleared the limbs off the trailer and pulled it by hand up to the driveway, as the yard was too wet to back the truck into the yard. Yes, they brought the trailer back a little before 8:00 when I was attempting to eat my supper.

Another topic: We were able to help the neighbor get the vehicle hauled off. Our neighbor’s friend had moved to Ohio, and they had scheduled a vehicle delivery company to take their car to Ohio, but they did not come as scheduled. Anyway, they scheduled a different company to come and get the vehicle yesterday. We had the key here at the Ford’s homestead, and they did come and get the vehicle.

 In our neighborhood, neighbors help neighbors, we have good neighbors.  

My favorite wife and I along with another friend did set outside yesterday afternoon, with many conversations about health, birds making noise as they were feeding the baby birds, and problems with TV and internet providers. Also, her power was off at her apartment, and she was told the power would be back on by midnight.

Today's activities: possibly go to the cracker store for lunch and then sit around and wait for the ground and grass to dry up enough so we can get our yard man Alex over here to mow. Our front yard is very tall as we do not cut it too short, which I believe makes it look better, and since it is tall anyway, the growth due to the abundant rain has made it extra tall.

I am attempting to stop for now as I need a rest from all this data entering. We hope you have a good and safe day and that everyone is nice to you and me.

Good rainy morning! I checked the rain gage this morning and it had 3.25 inches of rainwater in it. Water is standing in the back 40 and it is still raining.

Yesterday: I did my bible study, no not for the group just for myself. After that I had a little lunch and then I did nothing other than rest.

As I was sitting there in the ole recliner, I kept thinking if the sun would go behind the clouds, I would attempt to cut the weeds in part of the ditch. I try not to work in the direct sunlight. Well, the clouds did take over, and I headed out to the shed. I wanted to get the gas-powered string trimmer out and use it and I noticed the old lawn mower was still in there. I need to do something with that old lawn mower, I don't know who I could give it to, but I need to get rid of it. The ole mower still runs, it's just hard to start the first time.

I did get the string trimmer ready to go with gas and new string on it. I did put the shock collar on Tres as he always wants to go out in the ditch and that's my way of making him pay attention when he's out in the ditch. After he finished his run up and down the ditch, I got him inside the fence and started the string trimmer. As I began to trim the weeds it took close to an hour to do what I was doing, and I do have a photograph.

                After I took the photo I decided to get the leaf blower and blow the grass off into the ditch, so I could see the fire ants’ mounds. I also got the fire Ant killer and as I blew the grass and weeds off the fire Ant mounds, I would add a little fire Ant killer to each mound in hopes to get rid of them. I have another photo of a plant which is a weed, it is growing in the ditch but it's pretty.

                My favorite wife was sitting outside when I went in to take a shower and get cleaned up and by the time I got back it had started to rain, so that ended sitting out on the driveway. The Thunder had stopped so we decided we'd go sit on the front porch and enjoy the afternoon and if it rained, which it did, no problem since we were on the front porch.

                Today: no plans at all. I probably need to go to the grocery store for a couple items but nothing other than that. You might have guessed, I will not have our yard man Alex over today to mow.

We are starting the day out as a good morning and we hope to get the right amount of rain today. Our morning coffee was made here at the Ford Homestead.

                Allow Me to comment on yesterday's events: we left the house yesterday morning about 8:30 heading over to get Alex to take him down to the tax office. I stopped at the star coffee place and wasted money on a cup of coffee prior to picking Alex up. We did make it to the tax office safely although the handicapped parking place had mud and grass where the handicapped person. “My favorite wife,” had to get out of the car. I did explain to the lady inside that the handicapped parking places should be cleaned out, and she noted that there's a lot of work going on out there, and I said you're correct and they should be cleaned out.

                We did get all the paperwork done; Alex is now the only owner of The Ford's old Chevy. Yes, he has all the paperwork, and the brand-new title will be sent to him in about 3 weeks.

                On the way home we had discussed the possibility of stopping at George’s restaurant and having breakfast since it was still early in the day. We had a good breakfast and some enjoyable conversations and then we continued taking Alex to his house.

Back at home I did very little other than sit around, my favorite wife has been in the front bedroom going through and cleaning out a bunch of things.

                My dog trace and I did go outside on the front porch and sit and enjoy the fact that it was raining. Yes, it was light rain and nice and quiet as we sat there in the afternoon. We did get a photo of an orange bloom that is shaped like a Christmas tree. It’s a bloom on a cactus plant.

                We decided to go back to George’s restaurant for our date night, which is just supper, and supper was good, the service was good and we enjoyed our time together. We did learn that the wait-staff person that we always talked with when we went there had been terminated. We do not know why.

                The vehicle is still sitting in the neighbor’s driveway the people have not come to pick it up and take it to Ohio yet, and yes, we still have the keys here at the house for the vehicle.

                I had thought that I might venture out to the ditch and attempt to remove some of the weeds but with the rain that canceled that. I did shut the sprinkler system off so it doesn't run in the morning I will wait until tomorrow afternoon assuming it's not raining and then let it operate so I can watch it and make sure it all works as it should. We did get ¼ inch of rain yesterday.

                I have a couple photos from 2014 of a chest that I had built. When I saw the photos I remember making it and I think I remember who we gave it to. It is not bad work for a senior person.

                                                   

                Today’s events will depend on the weather. I did happen to look out back and saw another flower blooming. I have an early morning photo of the bloom.

                Yesterday I sent the email twice, I could not find on my computer where I had sent it the first time, so I sent it a second time. Ole people make mistakes.

                I think it is a good morning except I have been sneezing a lot. Maybe I should take my allergy medicine.

                Yesterday was another do-nothing day for me. I did get the lawn sprinkler system repaired and it cost so much that we may not be able to eat any real food for a while. They replaced 2 solenoids which turned two of the seven sprinkler systems on and off. They checked the sprinkler heads to make sure they were spraying good.

                Today we need to take Alex to the tax office to get the title of the Fords Ole Chevy put in his name. We still wish he could take his drivers test this month, but the DMV is so booked up that his appointment is in late August. That means when school starts, I will need to take him to school.

                My favorite wife and I sat outside yesterday afternoon and other than the birds hollering and going on, the neighborhood was quiet. We have a bunch of new baby birds and mamas and daddies are hollering as they take food to them repeatedly in the afternoon.

                I did finish reading through Psalms yesterday so I'm going to find a different area in the bible to start reading today.

                There Was a drone delivery at the neighbor across the street yesterday. The drone flew up, stopped over his backyard, went down and evidently dropped off the package, went back up and flew away. I grabbed my cell phone and tried to get a photograph, but it didn't work so there was no photograph and no video of the drone flying and delivering.

                I think I will stop for now, we hope everybody has a good day that we all stay safe in all we do. Try to be nice to at least one person today.

Morning from the Ford Homestead, we hope your day is starting well.

                Yesterday: I did very little other than read from the bible and work on a thought for this blog post. I was able to go the entire day without a coffee from the Star coffee place.

I do have a key to a car that is sitting in the neighbor’s driveway. The owner is a friend of our neighbor and has moved to Ohio. There is supposed to be a company who will come and pick up the car and take it to Ohio. The neighbor works and has asked me to give the key to the people who come to get the car. It is not a big deal except I must keep an eye out for the truck and not let it leave without the car.

                As I was reading from the bible yesterday in Psalm 115 verses 1 through 8, I began to think about what it said about idols. I will not attempt to quote the verses, but I will provide a few words to help you understand my thoughts. Idols are made by the hands of men and made of silver and gold. They have eyes and can’t see, they have ears and can’t hear, they have a mouth and can’t talk, yet men worship the man-made idols.

                Please consider the following: people are now making robots that can walk, talk, see, hear and do almost anything a human can do. These are man-made robots and they may be worshiped by many people do to the fact that they are new and fun to see. And as time passes, they may even be worshipped as they can do almost anything a human can.

                One reason that people may worship these robots is, “they begin to do the hard labor in the future”. I believe as robots increase, the need for humans will decrease.  

In Revelations 13:15 they made a statue of the beast, and it was able to speak.

I wonder if the statue could be a robot?

                I believe that Artificial Intelligence and the robots are a precursor to the Anti-Christ.

The multiple pink blooms are on the fence near the driveway. The cloud was indicating some rainy weather, and we did not get any rain.

                I think it is a good morning, we hope it is also good where you live.

                Allow me to enlighten you as to yesterday’s happenings here at the Ford Homestead.

                First off, I got up early and my favorite wife slept in. We did set around a little while I was allowed to kick back take it easy and have a cup of homemade coffee.

I did go to the grocery store to get a couple things, and I was back home before the cleaning lady showed up. This lady is kind of a talkative person when she arrives, she is also from Cape Girardeau Mo., but she got started cleaning and doing a good job of cleaning the house.

I was able to do some Bible reading just before lunch. For some reason I tend to get sleepy when I'm reading if I don’t take a nap before I start to read. Reading over I decided that I wanted some chicken for lunch, so I went to the chicken place and got me and my favorite wife some lunch.

                I did look out the back door yesterday morning and noticed that we have a new mushroom growing out there at the same spot where the old one was. This one is about the size of a golf ball that has a good stem on it and yes, I do have a photo.

                I looked out this morning, and it has tripled in size. No I did not get a photo of the increased size of the mushroom.

                Later in the afternoon after resting some, I did sit outside on the driveway a little while when a friend of mine who lives down the street and has a whole lot of pretty flowers in his front yard came up the street in his pickup truck. As the truck was driving by, suddenly there was a cat in the road that had been run over. I assume the cat was up in the pickup truck somewhere like in the motor and decided to try to jump out and was ran over. Yep, it's dead and no photo.

                The bird house that had previously had babies, once again have babies, photo to follow.

                If you look closely, you can see two of the three babies.

                I sat outside just for a little while, but it was very warm and I decided to get back inside and enjoy the air conditioning.

Later in the day (about 7:00pm) my favorite wife and I went back outside to relax. Getting out of the house seems to be more enjoyable than sitting inside with the TV on. Those are the exciting things that happened yesterday.

                Possible things to happen today, take Alex to a meeting at school for ROTC and pick him up afterwards sounds like an exciting day. We have learned that the ROTG meetings do not start until next week.

                Are you having a good morning, we are…    😊

                Let’s review the restful Sunday: I was able to get up early and I watched one of the ministers on TV. Noticed I did not refer to him as a preacher, most of the ministers today do not preach, they are gentle in their comments trying to be informative but nice and calm to everybody. A preacher will tell you what he thinks and what you need to know and not play around about it. That is olden days church as I remember it.

                Later in the morning I did my blog and I read the Bible as usual. Then I went outside and watered the potted plants. My favorite wife and I went to the cracker store for lunch where we got a handicapped parking place and we were surprised that there was no waiting, so we got a table immediately. Food was good, service was good then we headed back home.

                I was allowed to wash the clothes as my favorite wife was doing other things in the house.                During the washing of the clothes, I would have a little time between events (washing and drying), and I went outside and was sitting in the old rocking chair on the driveway when I happened to look over and see some flowers blooming. Yep, as usual, I have a photo.

                There or six blooms on that flower and about that many buds are getting ready to bloom although you cannot see all the blooms in this photograph.

                I also attempted to run the lawn sprinklers one minute at each location just to verify that they were all working properly. They are not working properly so I will need to call a sprinkler repair person. I will need some money…

After I finished all the clothes washing, drying, putting on hangers and folding, I did take the time to make supper for myself. A few minutes later my favorite wife was ready for her supper, so I made her supper also.  

All that work completed I did get a little rest.

Today’s events: no big plans, the cleaning lady will be here about noon, I do need to go to the teller machine to get our weekly stipend. I could get a few things from the grocery store and other than that I should rest.

                Good morning on this last day of the month. Someone said the year seems to be going by fast. I think the older you get the faster it seems to go.

                Yesterday’s actions: we started the day with going to get Alex. I always call him when I am on my way just to make sure he is ready. This time I called his phone about 5 times and got no response. I made it to his house when I called his father, and Dave went in and woke Alex. I knew it was going to take a few minutes for him to get ready so I told them I would go to the Star coffee place and get a cup of coffee.

                I had not intended on getting a cup of star coffee from the Star coffee place, as I want to attempt to break my addiction to going there and wasting my money. Since I had some time to waste, I went ahead and got a cup. Arriving back at Alex's house about 20 minutes later he was ready to go so we headed over to the Ford homestead.

                Alex went in and said hello to Granny and then I showed him a couple of things that I wanted him to do in addition to what he normally does. He then went to mow the front yard, and I went to the back yard to pick up the dog droppings.

                While in the backyard I did take a picture of the mushroom which is basically weathering.

                I also have a photo of the first bloom on our plumerias this year, photo to follow.

                Alex Had completed the front yard and was in the back 40 mowing when his mother and father showed up to pick the blackberries. They brought their little dog “April” with them and she and Tres got along real good playing in the backyard. Dave and Claire got quite a few blackberries and then they headed for home. Alex had completed his work so he and my favorite wife and I headed to the sandwich shop in Waco for lunch.

                After lunch we dropped Alex off at home then we headed for home, where my favorite wife continued working on some items and I took a nap.

About 3:15pm we went outside to sit, and we sat outside for a couple hours. We have new baby birds in some of the bird houses and other than that, the neighborhood was very quiet. I did get a call from Alex as he was in the pickup truck and had connected his phone to the truck. He made a call to me to see if it was working and we hung up and I called him back so he could see how it worked when he received a call.

                Back in the house I prepared supper for both of us and that is the day that we had.

                Plans for today: other than going out to lunch at the cracker barrel like normal, no big plans. Maybe kick back take it easy try to have a restful day.

                I will attempt to stop for now, we hope everyone has a good day, be safe and all you do and be nice to others.
