Howdy you all! I do not have squat to talk about today, so I will just stop entering data and kick back and have my breakfast sandwich. The sandwich is from the Ford’s ole refrigerator, yes it was frozen, but after about 90 seconds in the microwave it is eatable. It is a biscuit with sausage, egg and cheese. It is good and I have a glass of milk with it.

Now I noted that I got it from the refrigerator, and that leads me into this comment. We have called for a repairperson to come to the Fords Homestead and see if he can fix one of the ice makers. I will not go into detail as to what the ice maker isn’t doing, let’s say it aint working correctly. It may be cheaper to buy a new ice box than get this one repaired.

Refrigerator’s put the Ice Man out of business. The Ice Man use to deliver 25-pound blocks of ice to people’s homes, and they would put the ice in the ice box to keep the food cool. The refrigerator, also known as a robot, took the job away from the Ice Man.

Robots will replace us all in the future!

Yesterday, the Tres wanted to take me for a walk. It was warm and the sun was shining so I gave in, and we headed out. The walk was good, but as we walked Tres kept pointing out that there are several yards that are covered in weeds, and that these yards need to be mowed. I agreed with him and explained, that it was none of our business, it is their yards they can do what they want.

Bible study: at the bible study meeting last night the meeting was over and I had noticed this fellows ID tag had the name Don on it. Yes, we all have ID tags, since I noticed the name I walked up to him and said, “we may be related, my name is Don”. We shook hands and talked for a few minutes. Don seemed to be a friendly person.

That in counter brought to mind, when we get together in the small groups to discuss this week’s homework, we all usually go to the same seat and sit down. There are conversations between some of the participants, that is those who know each other and or have been in the Bible study groups before. Last night when I walked in and sit down there is a fellow who sits a couple seats away from where I sit and I said, “you aren’t on the motorcycle tonight”. He replied, “no but I will be on it tomorrow”.

In our small group meeting it seems to me, that those who know each other convers, but we don’t seem to attempt to expand our conversations with those we don’t know. In truth, we only have a few minutes before we start the homework, so time may be a factor.

People don’t have to be friends, but we should be friendly!

This morning when the Tres and I went out to get the newspaper, I noticed a long cloud across the sky. I don’t know why but I find it interesting as to how clouds form. Photo to follow.

There is a long streak down low and then the one up high.

Different subject: I get the stitches out today!

Well, I guess that is it for now, sorry that I did not have anything interesting to present to you, we hope you have an interesting day, filled with fun and happiness, be safe!

February 27, 2023

Good morning, at least it is for me. I have been to the coffee place and to the burrito place and have devoured both, it is a good day.

We are going to change TV and internet providers, we have spectrum and it is too expensive and messed up a lot, do you have any good suggestions?

This week has several events to keep the ole Fords busy. Besides getting the grand kids from school and Dave from work, tonight is Bible study, tomorrow I get my stitches taken out, Wednesday nothing on the schedule, Thursday a neighbor is being operated on so we will be there for her, Friday my favorite wife has an MRI. Notice that I did not refer to the possible storms that may be here on Thursday.

What did the Don and the Donna do yesterday? Well, we did get outside and my favorite wife was putting out some Easter decorations, while I was attempting to removes some leaves from the two major flower beds. I was using the leaf blower and a rake, and it worked fairly well. I usually go into the jasmine beds with the string trimmer and level them off then blow the trimmings away, but the beds have not recovered from all the trampling they received when the porch and sidewalk was installed. I will be taking the trimmer out and working on a couple small areas.

My wife joined in on the work in the jasmine beds and she was down on the ground cutting some ole plants out. We have a ton of ole acorns covering the ground in these two beds, I wish there was an easy way to remove them, but with all the vines it seem like it would require someone on his hands and knees, picking them up by hand. That don’t sound like fun.

I did pick up the leaves that I had blown out of the beds and they are in the trash container for pickup today.

Work finished, we headed out to the Ford’s ole swing for a period of rest and conversations. We did not get into politics, but we did discuss many other topics. We had expected a friend to come over and sit outside with us, but she was not feeling well and stayed at home.

I need to get off here and take a look at my first wife’s battery powered vacuumed, it isn’t working properly.

We hope you all have a good day, stay safe and be polite to all.

February 26, 2023

I am sitting here at the Ford’s ole computer entering this data while I have the TV next to me on. It is Saturday afternoon and I have the Three Stooges on, they are on for two hours. The problem is everyone has seen all these ole shows many times in the past, aka olden days, and every week they show one or two that they had shown the previous week. What the heck, it is something for an ole person to do.

Still on the topic of Three Stooges, but a slight variation, as I was watching the Three stooges they talked in, “Pig Latten”. Now I understood what they had said, actually they said their names in pig latten. Pig Latten was a language kids used occasionally, when I was a kid. It was a secret way to talk for those who knew pig latten. As I remember it, you would remove the first letter of the word, put it to the back of the word, and add an “A” to the word.

“You = ouya”. Hay, I didn’t say it was easy, just a secret kids language.

Our oldest son Patrick and his wife Karla were here yesterday, and they have a new vehicle. It is a very nice SUV, and we went to lunch in it today. It not only looks good but rides good to. They traded Karla’s vehicle for this vehicle. Heck if we were rich we could have a new vehicle.

Swap the topic: as we were sitting in the TV room at the Ford’s homestead, we heard an odd sound. I had just been talking about the extra loud rocket motors that they have been testing lately, but the sound was not a rocket test firing. This sound was like a vibration, and it was coming from the fire place. It happened several times, Patrick said it sounded like a bird was tapping on something. The Don went outside to see if he could see anything, and there was a red headed woodpecker pecking on the smoke pipe. He or she flew away when he or she saw The Don

I did go outside and water some of the plants and berries after Patrick and Karla left, and I had some time to work on my bible study homework. All in all, a very nice day with very little work.

Now I am here at the Ford’s ole computer again, entering data for the enlightenment of the reading public, and you too. I had a thought last night, who knew I could have a thought in this ole brain, but my ole brain does occasionally come to life. Now even if I remembered what I was considering when the thought came to me, I would not pass that along to you, but I think the following comment has some validity.

You don't have to do anything, but what you do, or do not do, says a lot about you!

I know, you don’t have the time to think about the above statement, but it does apply to everyone. You can change the word “do to say” and it still applies.

Well, I guess that is it for now, hope you have a good day, and please stay safe.

February 25, 2023

Let’s see what is happening, it is Saturday, and I have nothing scheduled for the day. I can tell you that the bird that has been using the front porch as its night resting place, was not there again this morning.

There is a good chance that we may go out for lunch today, Patrick and Karla are coming to the Ford homestead today.

If the wind would say quiet today or tomorrow, I would possibly attempt to remove leaves from a couple of the front flower beds. It will take some raking and using the leaf blower to clear them out, but I will not be able to get all the leaves.

Yes, I did go for a burrito and a cup of real coffee this morning, both were good!

I have been attempting to follow the instructions provided by the doctor for the cut on my face, even though I did not have a bandage on it yesterday. The cut seems to be doing ok, and I get the stitches out next Tuesday.

I need to get outside and feed the birds, I wish I could keep the squirrels away from the bird food. Well, I know this is a very short posting but I don’t have a bunch of thoughts to write about today.

We hope your day is safe and very interesting, please be nice to old all people.

February 24, 2023

Not at Home this morning! He or she was not at home this morning when the Tres and I went out to get the newspaper, yes, I was surprised when I looked and the bird was not present, because it was still dark. Now I do not know if this bird was a male or female, and I am wondering if this bird has found a mate, and maybe building a nest somewhere. We wish the bird good luck.

Topic swap: I went out front to a different flower bed with the thought that I might be able to blow the leaves out of the bed with the leaf blower yesterday. Well, I discovered that I could blow the leaves, and that the wind would blow them in places where I did not want them to go. I stopped my attempt at blowing the leaves and returned to the House.

Another subject: When I went to pick up Alex from school yesterday afternoon, there was signs where we normally stop and wait on the kids that read, “Do Not Enter”. Well, where was I supposed to wait for the Alex?

I had not been told that there would be a track meet, and the area where I normally waited would be blocked off. This also meant that I would not be able to take the short cut from one school to the other to get the Gabi. If I have to drive around the streets to get the Gabi, it would likely take an additional 30 minutes, due to Mars drive being blocked off.

Well, I found a parking space and waited. The parking area filled up with people who were coming to get kids from school, and people who were coming to the track meet.

School was out and I got out and stood in front of the Ford’s ole Chevy hoping that Alex would see me, as there were other trucks like mine on the parking lot. Alex found me and we began to exit the parking area. We had a choice of left or right turns when leaving the lot, we chose left and we were glad that we did. When we got to the end of the exit, we saw that the gate that was normally closed on the road leading to the high school was open, so we made the turn and got to the high school without driving through all that traffic. Was I lucky or was I blessed?

Arriving back at our home, after dropping the kids off at their home, my favorite wife and I were going to go out for supper, and if we get there quickly, we would beat the crowd. Wouldn’t you know it, a neighbor with her granddaughter came over as we were walking out of the house. We visited for about 5 minutes and then they continued on with their walk, and we headed to the restaurant named after my dad, whose name was George.

Supper was very good, the service was quick, and we enjoyed the time together.

Arriving back at home, Tres was barking at something out back, so I went out back and sat a while to see what he was after. I have a wonderful photo of the Don as he kept an eye on the Tres.

Well, we had a good day yesterday, we hope you have a good day today, stay safe and be happy.

February 23, 2023

Good morning to everyone, and it is a good morning. It isn’t raining, but there is a chance for some later on this week. We did get almost ¼ inch of rain yesterday.

The cut that was inflicted upon me by the surgeon, seems to be doing ok. I did remove the bandage this morning and all looks ok. Yes, I do need to put a clean bandage back on the incision.

Let’s move back in time to yesterday: I did work in the devastating heat yesterday afternoon, I was allowed to remove leaves from a flower bed, and during that work period, I was also allowed to remove dead plants, or parts of dead plants. This work was partially in the direct sun, so I had a long-sleeved shirt on and a hat, along with sunglasses. Did I say I had gloves on as I did not want to get the stickers in my hand again? Well, I did have the gloves on!

It was so hot that I was sweating, and the sweat was getting in my eyes. To wipe the sweat from my eyes, I had to remove the glove as it had dirt on it, then the hat, then the glasses and then using the long-sleeved shirt sleeve, I could wipe the perspiration from my eyes. Then, once the perspiration was removed, I head to reverse the process, putting everything back on.

(Did you notice I switched from sweat to perspiration, it makes my writing look smarter I mean more intelligent.)

I feel as if I did a good job even though I did not get an, “At a Boy” from anyone. I have a few weeds in this flower bed and I hope to coat then with roundup today.

I did get Dave and the kids from work and school and take them home safely. After delivering the kids to their homes I was allowed to rest my ole body out in the Ford’s ole rocker for a while.

Wow, I just thought, I did not get a cup of real coffee yesterday…

Well, I guess I will stop entering data and go bandage my ole scar, we hope you have a very good day, stay safe and be nice to at least one person.

February 22, 2023

You are my favorite reader, and this posting is just for you! Let’s see, what can I present to you my favorite about what I did yesterday. Not a lot happened yesterday, I did need to get up and get ready early yesterday morning, as I had a doctor’s appointment at 7:30. Who schedules appointments that early in the morning other than Ole people. Heck, it was so early that I did not have time to stop and get a real cup of coffee on the way to the appointment.

I did get there on time, and got checked in, they called me back to the same room that I was in last time they cut on me.

Did I tell you it is raining this morning; well, it is raining. I did get my favorite wife’s so-called newspaper in for her, and I did get the neighbors newspaper, as they are still on vacation. It must be nice to be rich and take those long boat cruses allowing others to wait on you. I did put the neighbor's newspaper on another neighbor's front porch, so they could have the adds, even though there aren’t many adds anymore.

Did I get off subject? Let’s see, I went to the doctor, I checked in, they took me to the same room as last time, ok, I know where I am in this story. The doctor is a short lady, and she is very friendly. She came into the room and they, the male nurse and her, were preparing to cut on me. This cutting was to be on my face, I hope I have a photo for later in this posting. Before they started, I showed her a place on my hand, and she said they would need to take a sample of that too.

They got their knives out, and after poking me with a needle that had some pain killers in them, they began to cut on my ole face. It did not take long, and they were through. They take the parts that they had removed to be tested. They were nice enough to bring me a cup of coffee.

Well just like last time, it took them about an hour to test the samples. They came back and said everything looks ok, and then they wanted to sow me up. I do not know how many stitches they put in my ole face, but it took a while, so I assume there are several.

They then decided to work on my hand, where they removed a sample of the Don, and I assume they will allow me to come back later to get my hand cut on. They gave me instructions as to how to take care of the wound, I get to go back to get the stitches removed next week.

I show you a photo of my bandaged face, and all you can see, is my hair sticking out on the back of my head, I don’t know why I even try to enlighten you.

I guess the rest of the day was like normal, I did get Dave from work and get him home safely, I did get the kids from school and get them home safely.

Back at home my favorite wife and I went outside and sat, enjoying a nice cold drink and the 83-degree temperature. A friend from across the street came over and we had some nice conversations, we also talked about politics too. Later his wife came over and that made the conversations even more lively.

After all was said and done, my first wife prepared a Pizza for our supper, well, she opened the box and put it in the oven. We have had this type of pizza before, and it is good!

Guess that was all that took place yesterday, nothing exciting ever happens for the ole people at the Ford’s Homestead, we hope your day was more interesting, very restful and very safe.

February 20, 2023

Ok, we are starting a new week here at the Ford Homestead, that means we got through the day even though “we”, my favorite wife and I, worked until our ole body were worn out.

My first wife went out front and removed some items (decorations) then placed some items. As she was doing that, I was preparing for my work in the back 40. This preparation included, watering some flowers and the berry beds, along with the flowers in the green house. I then removed the Poopa-Loopa from the back 40. I should note that the Tres has a tendency to make a deposit after I have removed the Poopa-Loopa, photo to follow, which may be disturbing for some readers, caution advised.

I also removed the small sticks from the back 40 in preparation for the mowing. The only thing growing in the back 40 is the ole winter grass (aka weeds) but there were plenty of them. After picking up the Tres’ toys, and rolling up the hose and electrical cord, I was almost ready, but I had to get the mower from the storage area (take the tarp off) and then check the air in the tires, as one is always out of air. I add gas and checked the oil, now I was ready to mow. The mowing went off without a hitch.

The next project was to replant some flowers. The Mother-in-law tongues had a lot of dead in the two pots, so I removed the dead and replanted the live. I had purchased bags of potting soil, and the potting soil looked more like topsoil. Not happy with the dirt!

I also had noticed that we have some green leaf buds popping out on a tree in the back 40, the photo isn’t good, but one can see the green.

This is a tree stump, I had cut the limbs off a few years ago and left the tall stump. The stump is trying to sprout new limbs and that is why it looks so silly.

Completing all the work and replacing all the tools, I headed for the house where I took a short rejuvenating nap. Nap complete, and dog feed, I went outside and sit there with an adult beverage in hand. A few minutes later my favorite spouse came outside and sat with me. We enjoyed the beverages and time together as the weather was cooperating.

All in all, we got a lot done, and enjoyed the afternoon resting and discussing any and all things. As a reminder, I do go to the doctor and get cut on tomorrow morning early, so there will likely not be a posting.

Well, I guess I will stop for now, we hope your holiday is safe and full of good things.

February 19, 2023

We are back to Sunday again; we hope that everyone is doing well today. It isn’t as cool outside this morning as it has been the last couple days, and the day is reported to be a nice warm day.

Non interesting topic: I was reviewing a couple of the security cameras this morning, I wanted to see what the noise was at the front door about 5:40am. It was the lady who delivers our newspaper, she tosses the paper so it is laying in front of the door when we go out to get it. The odd thing about this, camera #2 was about 40 seconds behind the other cameras. I had never seen this in the past, very odd, but all the cameras were recording.

Tomorrow, if it is as warm as they predict, the Tres will get a wash job. Yes, it is supposed to be in the low 80s tomorrow.

Then on Tuesday, I go to the skin doctor and get cut on again. I assume it will be similar to the other time she cut on my face. She did a good job last time, and did not leave a scar.

If the weather stays nice all day today, I might trans plant a couple plants that my wife refers to as “Mother-in -law Tongue’s”. There were a bunch of them in two pots, and many of them have died due to the cold weather. I would like to get the live parts out and transplant them in fresh potting soil. Who knows if I will perform any other physical actions that could make an ole person tired.

My favorite wife and I did get out and go to town yesterday,, we did not get what we wanted at the store so we headed for home when my present spouse said, we could go to “O” store (I only give names when I get paid). We both looked things over and we got a couple items but not what we had originally gone to town for. I did not have the 20% off coupon with me, so I did not go to the harbor store.

On the way home we stopped at a burger drive through and got two burgers, which were not worth what we paid for them.

Arriving back at home we sit around doing very little. I did do some homework answering those difficult questions and I read from the bible for a while.

At bed time there was a show on the ole movie channel, “In the heat of the night”. That is a good movie, starring Sidney Poitier, I have seen it several times and I watched it again last night.

Well, I guess I am done for now, hope you have a nice Sunday, please stay safe.

February 18, 2023

Happy Saturday to each of you, even though it is cold outside. Yep, it is freezing here at the Ford’s homestead again, and they are saying we will be in the 80s in a couple days. Texas weather, what could be better?

Well, lets see, what can the Don tell you about yesterday? I did go to the eye doctor yesterday, he said the condition of my eyes all look the same, see you in 6 months. They did dilate my eyes which I do not like, so I did little to nothing for several hours. I did try to read at one time before lunch, but that did not work.

My eyes were mostly back to normal about1:30, so I headed out to get a cup of real coffee, and then went by the past employer where I picked up six 40-pound bags of potting soil. I did not pick them all up at once, I only could handle one at a time. I plan to use the potting soil to replant a couple flowers, and maybe put some in and around the new jasmine vines. The black berries might get some also.

While at the past employer, I was able to give Dave a ride home. I dropped Dave off at home, and then as I was leaving, received a call from him where I returned to his house. I then took him back to work where he had left his billfold in his locker. So, in fact, I did take Dave home from work twice yesterday.

My eyes were back to normal when I headed out to get the kids from school, so I took my Bible with me. I was then able to read while I waited on Alex to get out of school. Speaking of Alex, he and the boy scout troop have gone down to the coast today, where they will spend the night on an ole ship. They are kind of excited as they have heard that there might be ghosts on the ship.

I did not get to do all my bible study homework yesterday, although I did answer a couple questions. I guess I will have something to do today.

Oddly enough, even though it was a cold 50 degrees yesterday afternoon, my favorite wife and I did sit outside for a while.

I did get a breakfast burrito this morning, and I shared it with my present spouse. These burritos are big enough even when cut in half, they are plenty for an ole person’s breakfast.

New subject: as I was outside with the Tres this morning, I saw something I thought was very odd. I have a photo which I will present to you. Now we have all heard about the government shooting down balloons and UFOs lately, and I think I got a photo of a cloud in the shape of a bird being shot down over Hewitt, TX. You look and decide for yourself.

Heck, if they are shooting at bird clouds, who knows what else they will be shooting at!

Well, I guess that is it for now, we hope you have a nice Saturday, stay safe and be nice to ole all people.

February 16, 2023

Does it make you feel as if you are being abused? Well, it does for me! I feel as if they are smiling as they stick it to me, and I am silly enough to allow it to happen. Any time we pay to see something, hear something, or do something, and there are paid commercials which we have not approved to be presented, I feel we are being abused.

I am speaking of any TV shows or so-called news that you pay to see, any radio program or music that you pay to hear, or any event you pay to go to!

Why do we pay to watch commercials? It seems as if there are more commercials than there is programing on the TV or Radio.

Ok, I guess that is enough of my preaching, lets see, did I do anything yesterday? Nope!

Well I guess that is it for today, what, wait a minute it does seem as if I did something yesterday, what was it. Early morning, I did not go get a cup of real coffee. I did my home work for the bible study class, and I did take time to read from the bible, I guess that can be considered as, “the Don’s own bible study”.

I did attempt to make some changes to the ring door bell, you know keep it from recording vehicles as they drive by, I was not able to convince it to change. Maybe I should have purchased the more expensive version. Heck, we have other cameras that record everything.

As usual, I went to school to get the grand kids and was able to get them home safely. Arriving at home my first wife and I went outside to enjoy the afternoon which was 80 degrees. A friend joined us and we had some good conversations. As usual, when we had finished talking about politics, world events, crazy people with guns and so on, the topic switched to the bible. Our friend has just completed reading Revelations and that became the topic of interest.

About 6:00pm I went inside, and had for my evening repast, “Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup”. Yep, My favorite wife made it, and I eat it. I would say, “all in all, we had a very good day!”

Now today it is cold outside, and I do not plan to venture forth into the cold, although I am available to get Dave from work and the kids from school.

Well, I guess that is it for now, we hope you have a great day filled with love and kindness, please stay safe.

February 15, 2023

Well, we made it through the valentine’s day without too many problems. Dave and Claire got their furnace running again, it was a $6.00 fuse that had blown.

The weather was very nice yesterday and it is supposed to be nice again today. My favorite wife and I sat outside yesterday afternoon and enjoyed the nice weather and a nice beverage.

As we sat out doors yesterday afternoon, our pot hound Tres observed a dog running lose in the neighborhood. Naturally Tres had to warn everyone within a mile that the dog was lose by barking like crazy.

Speaking of the Tres, yesterday when the lady came to the front door do deliver some flowers for my favorite wife, Tres went crazy when she rang the doorbell. It took a while but I was eventually able to get the door open, receive the flowers, and not have Tres attack the delivery person. Photo of flowers to follow.

The nice weather seems to have the birds using all the bird houses. In the photo to follow, we see a bird sitting outside the house enjoying the afternoon. This particular house does not normally get used. I have thought that the birds in the house next door (about 10 feet away) were fighting with any bird attempting to use this house. That does not seem to be the case now.

I was surprised yesterday when I went to pick up Alex from school. He normally gets out of school at 4:00. I sat there waiting and he did not come out, after a few minutes I learned that he had some type of football practice and did not get off until 5:30. I then headed over to the high school where I picked up Gabi and friend.

Odd topic: as I sat on the Ford’s ole recliner drinking my homemade coffee this morning, there was this so-called news about a school district, and all the principals of each school were gathered together in a meeting. This meeting was instructing the principals of each school to, “take time to talk with each of the staff in their school”. The term staff means from the newest janitor to the most senior teacher, all staff each and everyone. This was to be done to learn what the staff thought, and find ways to improve the schools.

WOW, the principals of the school did not know they should talk with their staff?

Talking with staff, learning their thoughts is good, but then the principal, or manager needs to take action and implement proper changes.

Well, I can’t think of anything else that would be of interest to anyone, so I will close by wishing each of you a safe and productive day.

Talk not, learn not!

February 14, 2023

It is valentine’s day, and I received a very nice card from my favorite wife, yes, I gave her one also. She received some nice flowers yesterday and I do have a photo of the flowers and someone holding them.

I have always felt like we were meant for each other, it might be that no one else would have put up with me all these years!

Different subject: it is raining this morning, it is a light rain, just enough to make it a messy start to the day. Speaking of wet, I went out yesterday and watered all the berry beds along with the items in the green house.

I did get the battery powered string trimmer out and removed some grass, which are in fact considered as weeds, but they are green. The area around the swing near the driveway had a lot of the grass, and the string trimmer did a good job of making it looked mowed. There are a couple flower beds in the area and I cleaned them out. They look nice now, but since I did not take a before photo, I seen no reason for an after photo.

Completing that work, I went to the back 40 and trimmed around any and everything that needed trimming, basically, everything in the back 40. I did not mow.

I had a cell phone problem last night, and I will get into that in a minute. Everyone should remember, if you can’t get me or my wife on the cell phone, we have a house phone, try it.

Now back to the phone problem. I did go to the bible study class last night and it was very interesting. There were several of our group who were not there, which I guess made the smaller group more interactive. All the men who attend are asked to put their phone on silent or turn them off, I put mine on vibrate.

Leaving the meeting I switched my phone back to normal sound for calls and notifications. Arriving at home and after having a bowl of ice cream, I headed for the Ford’s ole bed. I always place the phone next to my bed, even though I almost never get calls from anyone I know. When I was about to lay the phone down, I noticed it said I had a voice mail. I clicked on the voice mail and a message popped up, something about settings and not connected.

I then tried to call the house phone and got the same message. I used the house phone and got a busy signal, you know “buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz”, I had not heard a busy signal in years. I did restart the phone but no difference.

I decided to forget the phone and go to bed, I thought, “I can call the provider tomorrow and get it working again”.

This morning, after my morning coffee and the so-called morning news, I picked up the ole cell phone and clicked on the voice mail, it worked. My sister had tried to call and left a voice mail while I was at the bible study meeting. I don’t know if it had something to do with shutting the sound off or not, it works now.

I guess that is it for now, we hope you have a productive and safe day.

Rain is increasing!

February 13, 2023

Well, the Soup Bowl is over now, the red team won, maybe they will talk about something else on the TV. I get tired of almost any subject when it is repeated too often. The balloon event was interesting for a while, but they keep showing the same video of the shooting down of the balloon. Why haven’t they talked about the UFO they shot down over the ice?

Topic change: I washed the dog yesterday, and I did say “I” washed the dog. Normally my favorite wife and I together wash the pot hound, but yesterday I took the task on myself, because only one dog and one person can fit in our shower at a time. I got in the shower and got the water at a warm temp and then we coaxed the Tres in the shower. Now Tres likes showers when we are outside, but he doesn’t like them in the house. I will say, he looks a lot better, his hair is all clean and shiny, and he now smells better too.

Speaking of dogs, as I was in the Ford’s ole office yesterday I saw a truck going down the street and a dog running alongside it. This event got my detention so I ventured outside and watched. The truck had a driver and a passenger, the driver would stop and call the dog and the dog would run away. When the truck started driving the dog would come to the truck and run alongside it. The driver stopped multiple times and the dog would run away. The truck came back up the street, and the dog was alongside the truck. The driver said, “I guess she will follow us home”, and he drove off slowly with the dog following.

Adjust the topic: I had proceeded out into the back yard with the Tres after his wash job, and I proceeded to review the berry vines and pickup sticks. I did not find too many sticks and as I reviewed the ditch behind the fence, I noticed that the bread that I had tossed out was all gone. I assume the birds eat this ole bread but I guess even a possum might also have a slice or two. Anyway, as I was almost finished looking the back 40 over, and I was going to the trash container with the sticks, I found a dead rat in the back yard, photo to follow.

I had picked the rat up from the ground and placed it on the top of the trash container with a couple sticks, so that is why he /she is not laying on the grass. Now I wonder if Tres had killed it, and if not, why was it laying there. It wasn’t ripped open as if anything had chewed on it, and the ants had not found it, so it had not been there too long. Before you ask, no I did not pick it up with my hands.

Different note: after the removal of the dead body from the back 40, Tres and I decided to get a cup of coffee and sit outside. Yesterday was warm enough that I did not need a jacket. A little later my spouse had returned from the store and she sat with me for a while. I decided that I had not read the Bible yet, so I ventured back into the house, but I did not stay in the house. I took the Bible in hand and went to the front porch where I enjoyed both the nice weather and the reading.

Swap subjects: it seems as if all the bird houses are being occupied at this time. I don’t even know how many bird houses there are, I think there are at least 11, and I have thought of creating others, but that would require me to actually work. Wait a minute I just thought of two more, so I know there are at least 13 houses.

Well, I guess I should stop for now, it is time to feed the dog, we hope your day is enlightened and satisfying. Please stay safe!
