Operation postponed 02.28.2022

Yep, it has been postponed again! We were supposed to be there tomorrow, they called today and said, the operation has been postponed, the doctors want to have another scan before they operate, the previous scan was 8 months ago.

We have no idea when the scan will be, or when the operation will be rescheduled. I just wanted to let you know. We will update as to new schedules as soon as they happen.

My prayer has been that they would do another scan, and find that the growth was much smaller, do to prayers from me and you, or that it was completely gone, again, due to our prayers!

            Thank you!

Get ready day 02.28.2022

Today is Monday and it is, "get ready day". Put together things that we need to take along, go shopping for a couple items, get my hair cut, then double check the list.

I did tell a couple of the neighbors that Tres will be outside early morning, and all-day Tuesday, and I can't do anything if he is barking. One neighbor said Tres barks all the time, he really does not, but he is loud which is irritating. One neighbor said, if he gets to barking, I will come over and talk to him, that should quieten him down.

I get to take the grand kids to school today, that will be the last time for a while. This week I will be at the hospital most of the time, next week the grand kids are on spring break. I guess that will give me more time to aggravate my present spouse I mean help out around the house! 😐

You are now officially on vacation this week; I might post something occasionally, but probably not a lot.

Thanks for all the well wishes.

All be blessed!

No advertisement 02.27.2022

Saturday, my favorite wife and I went shopping, and yes, she allowed me to go with her. We purchased a couple items and then headed back for home. As we were driving, I suggested that we might skip lunch today. We could then later in the afternoon get out of the homestead and go out for a meal, which would take care of lunch and supper.

For some unknown reason, my first spouse agreed with me.

At about 2:30 we got our coats on and went to a restaurant whose name is like my dad’s name (George). Arriving they seated us quickly and in an area where we could see and hear the people at the bar. Our table was a fair distance from others, although the restaurant was full of people having fun.

The service was good but not fast, due to the crowd, and the food was excellent! We enjoyed the meal and the fact that we were out of the house for a while.

Topic change; since I am not a mathematician, so I have a question. A cube can be 1 foot long, 1 foot wide, and 1 foot high. Can a sphere be 1 foot long, 1 foot wide, and 1 foot high? I know the term diameter is use in circles, can long wide and high be used in a sphere? Now you know why I am a, “Silly Grandpa”!

Alternate topic; I plan to feed the birds today, if it warms up enough for a senior retired person to go outside, as we did get more bird food yesterday during our shopping venture. I may also replace a couple batteries in three of the solar power lights in the front yard today.

The sun is shining today, so the hot house should actually be hot, without the heat lamp. Past that, I have no plans.

May your day be special!

Cost too much 02.26.2022

What cost too much, everything! I took my favorite wife to get a hamburger at a local drive through, this drive through has a lot of wind (I don’t advertise so consider the name wind). Arriving at home we ate the burgers and fries. The fries were good, the burger was not.  We ordered two single burgers, fries and a drink and it cost $19.03. I have noted that I will not return to that burger place.

As I was driving home after dropping the Alex off at his home Friday afternoon, I noticed a gas station with a sign indicating the price of regular gas was $3.24 per gallon. That is 24 cents per gallon more than I paid last week. This will continue to increase due to many things; some could be fixed, if the people who are in leadership positions wanted to.

This might be ok for you real people who have jobs, but for us ole retired people it isn’t ok.

We have learned that we need to be at the hospital by 5:15am on Tuesday for the operation. That means we will need to leave the homestead at 4:30am.  Also, we have learned that during the operation only two people can be in the surgery waiting room. After the operation, only one person can be in the room with the patient. We were told that does not mean one at a time, but one individual per day (I guess because it is intensive care).

I will need to be flexible on my schedule during that week, a lot of time at the hospital (it is a 30-mile drive one way) and little time at home. The weather is supposed to be nice next week, so Tres can stay outside, he may bark at times disturbing the neighbors.

We are trying to get things in order before Tuesday.

Focus, and geter dun!

I fixed it 02.24.2022

I can only assume that you may have read the very short previous posting, in which I had commented, "the remote button will no longer activate or deactivate the lights". That statement was true, but it no longer is true, as, "I fixed it!"

Now one might ask, how can an ole senior retired person, who often does not remember what day it is, be able to fix, aka repair, a remote-control button. It may be due to his enormous perseverance, and the fact that he replaced the battery, after which it immediately began to work!

You are right, I am good! 😊

Now the lady of the Ford's homestead did go to a couple stores yesterday, and she purchased enough goods to last for a couple weeks. After we unloaded all the items from the Ford's ole van, I proceed to take the Tres for a ride in the van. My favorite wife had promised to take him for a ride, but had not had enough time. Tres enjoys a ride in a vehicle, he likes to have his head out of the window. During yesterday's ride, it was too cool to have the window down, but he seemed to enjoy the ride anyway.

In the afternoon yesterday, I had a half a loaf of bread that was going to be thrown out, so I took the bread out to the back fence and walked along the fence tossing a piece here and there until all was gone. It was really cold so I was trying to get back into the house quickly. I did decide to put some bird food in the two feeders, and I followed that up with some warm water in the bird bath. I hope they get some water before it freezes too.

Returning to the homestead I looked out the window and the black birds were already getting the bread at the back fence. If has been below freezing all day, if you thank the cold is rough on you, how would you like to be a bird or other wild animal?

I wasn't supposed to take the kids to school today, Dave has the day off and he was going to take them. Due to the weather, schools in our area will be starting two hours late. Dave has an appointment so I will take the kids to school.

The Tres and I walked outside to see if the newspaper was there, it wasn't, but I checked the walkway to see if it was slick, it wasn't! The driveway appears to be wet but it wasn't slick.

There will likely not be a blog posting tomorrow, we have appointments that start early morning through noon.

Drive slowly be safe!

Its cold 02.23.2022

The title line says it all, "It is cold"! That is all I have to present today.

The Ford's ole coffee maker is still only working about half the time for me. Oddly, my present spouse says it works fine for her. 😐

Next to my chair in the TV room, there is a remote button that will activate and deactivate two lights in the TV room, and the heat lamp in the Ford's ole hot house. Well, I mean it use to, this morning it would not activate anything.

For that one reader, and we know who you are, activate, and deactivate may be defined as, "Turn on and or turn off"!

I have no idea what happened, my favorite wife used it last evening to turn on the heat lamp in the hot house, and now it doesn't work. 😐

I will take the grand kids to school this morning, so I plan to go out in the freezing cold and start the Ford's ole pickup in an effort to warm it up.

Yes, I can start it from inside the house, but since it was nice and warm yesterday, I can only assume the heater has been deactivated, (aka turned off). I like to say I want the vehicle to be warm for the grandees, in truth, it needs to be warm for this ole senior person! 😊

I am both hoping and praying that we do not get a bunch of ice out of this cold snap.

Rain and ice go away, little Donnie wants to play!

May your day be warm!

Dog wash 02.22.2022

The grand kids were here yesterday and that was nice. We did not do much of anything yesterday other than, me and the kids did go to the star coffee place for drinks yesterday morning. Now my poor ole Star coffee gold card is almost empty. I have said, when it gets empty, I will stop going there. I can go to the Mc hamburger place and get a cup of coffee, that is just as good and cheaper.

My favorite wife and I did wash the dog yesterday, as the temp was in the 80s. I think he likes being washed because, he gets rubbed all over his body. Yes, he likes to play tug of war with the towel after the washing. Actually, the towel is not use to dry him, it is just a reward (Tug of war) for taking the bath.

The temp today is starting out warm and it is going to get colder all day. There is a possibility of some freezing rain Wednesday, and Thursday morning. My present spouse and I need to drive down to Temple Friday morning, as she has some appointments that day. We hope the ice stays away!

I get to take the grand kids to school this morning, but I will not pick them up this afternoon. Yep, there goes an ole senior grandpa’s schedule. Now what can I do this afternoon?

Topic change; as you might know, I do not like the repetitive news, tell me once, then only bring it up again when something has changed. With that in mind, consider what I do when the sound is turned off. I look at people’s faces, and notice any irregularities such as, one eye lower than the other, ears located high or low on a person’s head, odd shaped nose, and so on. The highly paid professional people have makeup artists, and they are able to fix many little errors in one’s face. The local news people, do their own makeup, and you can tell.

One lady in our local news, often has one eyebrow higher than the other. Yes, it is drawn on, it did not grow that way.

I also wonder, on the game shows the ladies are dressed in what I see as an effort to look sexy, while the men are dressed normal. I wonder how those females feel, knowing they are being used to draw attention.

Well, I will stop ranting now, hope you have a good day!

Hot, warm, cold, today!

Not real great 02.21.2022

Well, let's see what was not real great. My favorite wife and I went to the Bellmead Cracker store on Sunday. I guess it had been about a year since we went there, as we have a Cracker store here in Hewitt now. We use to go to the Bellmead store every Sunday, and we knew many of the wait staff and management team. Our thought was, we would get to see some ole friends during our visit.

We seen two people we knew and they did not see us. The service was very slow, due to not enough staff, the tables were too close together. Our table for two was about two feet from the table with four, we did not like that. We had hoped to enjoy a good meal, and get to say hello to ole friends, it did not happen. The food taste ok, but they did not get my order correct. Nope I did not say anything.

Upon leaving my first wife said, "we will not go back there"! That was a place we both use to enjoy, because of friends, now it is nothing.

I did go to the Harbor store and make a purchase.

I did get outside and water the black berries and roses in the back 40 yesterday.

I sat outside on the Ford's ole rocker, with a cup of coffee in hand, and saw a friend coming down the street, so I went out and flagged him down. His name is Gary and he will pick up metal trash and haul it away. I did not have his phone number, so while we were talking, I got his number. Our son David has some items that he wants to get rid of, like an ole kids swing set, an ole tiller, and other items. We will call Gary when David has the items ready.

We will have the grand kids here today, as it is a holiday? Presidents' Day is a holiday? Wow, the next thing you know they will be celebrating day light saving time as a holiday. 😐

The Olympics are over, who cares, I did not watch it.

It is supposed to be 80 degrees today, we might wash the dog! 😊

I might go and attempt to purchase a couple burritos this morning, after the grand kids get here. 😊

Take the time to enjoy!

Mooned again 02.20.2022

Before that one person stops reading, I did not get mooned again, a friend of ours got mooned. No, I did not moon her, she was mooned away from the Ford’s homestead! Before we get into the Mooning, which I find very interesting, allow this senior photographer, (yes, I did take a photography class in the past) to provide you with a photo taken this morning, and it is an all nature shot.

                                                     A bright and shining morning!

Now I will get to the mooning that a lady friend of ours was involved in. I have been mooned a lot and hopefully I will be mooned a lot more in the future. I have never been mooned like our friend was. Please allow me to present the photo of the mooning!

Our friend had gone out into the yard and since the moon was full that night, she decided to get a photo. Later when she was looking at the photo on her phone, she noticed something odd in the photo. Just below the moon was and object. Now the object is kind of cigar shaped, and it is blue in color.

What this item is, I do not know. It could be something flying through the night sky, or it could be a glair on the phone’s lens. You can decide as to what you think it might be. There is another photo taken later that evening after she noticed the object in the photo. It does not have the object in it.

I will alter the conversation now; you are correct, this is not a conversation, this is a presentation from me to the world-wide reading public! I bet you feel special to be one of those in the world-wide reading group, who find it almost enjoyable to receive these blog presentations. If not, let me know, and I will get you off the mail list!

My present wife might allow me to take her to the other cracker store today. You are correct, it is a long 20-minute drive for two ole senior retired people, but I might have the attention span, and I might be able to stay focused enough to get us there. I just hope I can remember the roads to take to get us there. I assume the interstate is still being worked on so I will stay off that highway.

Heck, If I am going to drive that far, maybe I should take a short nap before leaving the Homestead. Yes, I will change my clothes, and I will comb my hair, you aren’t my Momma, get off my case!

Note; since we are a long distance from home, I might go to the Harbor store and purchase an item. Isn’t that a coincidence, that I might get to go to the harbor store after eating!

That’s it for now, may you have a safe day, filled with smiles.

You can, do better!

When is it news 02.19.2022

I have commented on this in the past, in my opinion, it is news the first and maybe the second time I hear it, after that, if there is nothing new, then it isn't news. Repeating and discussing the same topic is nothing I want to see or hear.

Now that I have explained that, my postings are most often, "repeats of the same topics", and not news. I don't believe I have ever said my postings were news, they are more of a journal to me. If you are looking for news, you will not find it here, it may be time for you to stop reading these posts. Let me know and I will take your name off the mail list.

As I sit here looking at the camera monitors, I see several birds flying around, on, and in one bird house. I assume only two birds should have this residence. Could the others be children from last year, wanting to come back, or just a homeless couple attempting to forcibly acquire the residence?

If I were not out of scrap lumber, I could create more homesteads for the homeless.

Varied subject; there is an interesting TV show on right now, "Buck Rodgers". Yep, a TV story about space travel and future times, as seen in the olden days. It always ends in a disaster so you will want to see what happens next week. Now I can't wait until next weeks show! 😊

Nothing! Oh, I thought you were going to ask what I had planned to do today, and the answer is nothing. I might venture outside if the temperature warms up enough.

Have a blessed day!

Just another day 02.18.2022

I guess we can say yesterday was, "Just another day". The morning started off nice, heck I took the grand kids to school and I did not have a jacket on, the temp was in the mid-60s.

Note; after dropping the grandees off at the schools, I did go to the Star coffee place and procured a cup of coffee, since the Ford's ole coffee maker would not make me a cup of coffee. Oddly enough, my favorite wife made a cup of her coffee, and the coffee maker worked just fine. Now you see how and ole retired senior person is being treated, no respect, no respect at all!

Later in the day, I decide to leave the Ford's homestead and drop by the teller machine to get our weekly $5.00 stipend! 😊             since I was out of the house anyway, I decided to go to the star coffee place and get another cup of coffee. Note; this cup was free! 😊       I had enough stars for a free cup, ha-ha! 😊

Returning home, I found that my first wife was gone, so I was able to sneak some left overs out of the refrigerator without having to beg for them. It was so good, no one watching me eat, and no one telling me, "That is enough!"

After enjoying a free meal, I headed for the ole recliner to get a nap, but the nap would not come. What is wrong I thought? I can always drop off to sleep without any problems, but at that time I was unable to enjoy a short restful nap. It took a couple minutes for me to activate my brain, but after activation it came to me, I had just drank a cup of caffeine laced coffee, and that is why I could not get my well-deserved nap.

I decided to read since I was awake, and there was nothing on the TV that I wanted to see. I grabbed the book I have about Revelation from the Bible. Reading Revelation without some explanations leaves me wondering. This book explains a lot of things. There will be a New Jerusalem, and when you read about the New Jerusalem you might be amazed at the size. Nope, I am not going to enlighten you on this subject, you can look it up.

Later in the afternoon, when the effect of the coffee had left, I did get a nap! 😊

I did get my favorite grandson from school; we always have interesting conversations as we head for home.

The temperature in the afternoon was in the 40s and coats were needed. My favorite wife and I did go to the Cracker store for supper, and it was nice.

Now you see, it was just another day!

Stay warm, stay safe!

Did I, or not 02.17.2022

Please allow me to begin by stating, I did take the grandees to school yesterday morning. I did get them to school safely, and on time. After dropping the Alex off at his school, I decided, when I leave the school parking lot, if the traffic is light, and I can turn left without waiting I will go to the Star coffee place.

The traffic was light and I turned left heading for the Star coffee place. Traffic is always heavy at this time of the morning, as kids are being dropped off at the schools, and we have schools everywhere. There are many more kids arriving in personal vehicles than in school buses.

Going to the Star coffee place around 8:15 is usually good, as the drive through is most often very light. If you arrive about 9:00 or later the cars are often wrapped around the star coffee place. Yesterday, there were vehicles wrapped around the star coffee place when I arrived.

As I was heading for home, I called my favorite wife and asked, "would you like half of a breakfast burrito?" She was enthusiastic about having something to eat, so I stopped and bought a bacon egg and cheese burrito. We can only afford one, and we share it, as we are retired and on a fixed income.

The burrito was very good. Later in the day my first wife had gone to town and I was home alone, when it came to me, I did not remember getting my gold card back at the Star coffee place. Did I get it back or leave it there? I thought for a moment and decided to go out to the Fords ole pickup and see if it was there are not. I always leave the ole gold card in the pickup. I picked up my keys and started to go out of the house when it occurred to me, I don't remember giving the person at the window the card!

Then I remembered, when I arrived at the star coffee place the traffic was wrapped all around the building, so I decided to just drive on by. I did not stop for a coffee, I did not give them the card, and as usual, the card is in the truck!             😊

Let's switch topics; it is raining this morning, and after getting dressed the Tres and I went out front to see if the newspaper was there. Since it was raining, neither of us wanted to get off the porch. Tres walked back and forth on the porch before deciding to venture off the porch. He checked out a couple places that he normally likes to check the smell, then started back toward the porch. I had to tell him to get the paper a couple times, then reluctantly, he retrieved the paper and came back up on the porch. I stayed dry! 😊

Our coffee machine is not working this morning, I have put 3 or 4 K-cups in and all have failed. I have tried everything I know to do, but to no avail. Do you know what it is like to not have your normal cup of coffee in the morning? Even someone as nice as me, gets in a bad mood when he doesn't get his coffee. I will be glad when the grand kids get here, I can go to the Star coffee place after dropping them off at school.

Flash; if the star coffee place has wrap around traffic, I will go to the Mc hamburger place, they have coffee, but I have to pay for it with real money at the Mc.

Hope you have a cup!

Mooned again 02.16.2022

As I was taking some items out to the trash can, I was once again mooned. This time it was a full mooning!

After the mooning, there was nothing left for me to do but get to work. Here at the Ford’s homestead, I am allowed to eat, sleep and drink, only if I do some physical labor. The labor yesterday was, “attempting to remove acorns from a portion of the jasmine where the workers who replaced our porch had pretty much devastated the plants.” There may be photos later.

Now as an experienced raker, (the term raker means, a person who rakes) I know that raking acorns from flat bare dirt, is easy work. I also know when the raker is attempting to remove the acorns from short grass the work is somewhat more difficult. Obviously, removing acorns from the tall thick grass like we have here at the Fords homestead, is very difficult and tedious work. Raking the acorns from the jasmine vines, is next to impossible.

Yesterday, I was doing the almost impossible, yep, I was attempting to rake them from the jasmine vines. The area I was working on has been downtrodden by the workers, thus the leaves were no longer in this area, but the tough ole vines were still there. I was able to get three 5-gallon buckets full of these acorns and other debris. I use a small rake which makes it easier to attempt to pull through the vines.

I wanted to put some cow manure along the sidewalk, but time did not allow.

We received a scratch off contest via the mail yesterday, it was from the VW dealer. After scratching it off it showed we won $5,000. I called the phone number, and I was told I had won one of the 4 listed prizes. I was to bring the winning card to the dealership. These contests are used to get people to the dealer ship. I being gullible made my way over to the dealership, where I was told I did not win the $5,000, but I had won two lottery cards. The fellow said they had gone to get more lottery tickets; it would be a few minutes before they would have them. I got up and left, no richer than before.

A couple photos 02.15.2022

I don’t have many words for today, but I have a couple photos, and we all know, “one photo is worth a thousand words”. Now if that is a true statement about real people’s photos, then an ole senior retired person’s photos should be worth thirty or forty words. Let the photos follow!

First, we see some flowers for my favorite wife, and a card from me. No, I did not send both of the flowers.

As my favorite wife and I sat outside yesterday afternoon, I was looking at the oak tree limbs, and I was wondering if the tips of the limbs were starting to swell, possibly getting ready for the leaves to bud out.

You can’t see it, but I did see it. The moon was viewed from under the corner of our house, and it was over the top of the neighbor’s house. In real life it was a very interesting site, the photo is not.

Got to go, have a good day!

He was mooned!

Early morning 02.14.2022

We were informed that the grand kids would be here early today, they arrived at 6:40, that is a little more than an hour early. After a short discussion, we decided to go to the star coffee place for an early morning drink. Drinks in hand we headed for home, and that is when Alex twisted my arm as I was driving, forcing me to stop and buy a couple burritos. We were able to get the burritos and make it home where we enjoyed the food and drinks.

After the eating and drinking episode, we then loaded up in the Ford's ole Chevy and headed for school. We dropped Alex off first, and he had decided to not wear a mask. This is the first time in 2 years that he has not had a mask on at school.

It was a cool start to the Monday morning and it is supposed to get up into the 70s today. if it is that warm, an ole senior retired person has no reason to stay inside all day. I have noticed that the birds are drinking water from Tres' water bucket, that means I need to put some water in the bird bath. I am fairly sure the birds have eaten all the food I had put out Saturday, so I may venture forth today, and put out some more bird food.

Heck if I provide water for the birds, that means I will also need to water the plants in the ole hot house, and if I do that, I will also water all three berry beds. As one may see, there is too much work for the retired seniors, and that is why we are allowed to have more than one nap daily.

Football show, I started to watch it then it was supper time so I ate, and after supper I was allowed to take the trash out and then wash the dishes. Completing my labor, I made my way to the Ford's ole recliner where I was able to observe the last 48 seconds of the first half. There was some commercials and I expected to see some really interesting commercials, but that did not happen. Then half time started, which provided me with a reason to stop watching! I was able to avoid the so called half time show as my wife turned the channels.

My first wife made a meat loaf for supper last night and it was made from ground beef and deer meat. It was, and is delicious! I wonder what I will have for lunch today? 😊

Later, I again turned the TV on and watched a little of the football show as I lay there on the Ford's ole bed. The football show was so interesting, I went to sleep without knowing who won. Maybe I am not a football enthusiast.

Well, I guess that is it for now, may your nap be refreshing!

Listen and learn, it makes others happy!

Sunday again 02.13.2022

Well, it is Sunday again, so I am writing about Saturday. Saturday was a Fairley boring day, we did go to lunch at the new Hewitt restaurant, aka Rosa’s. The food was good, the service was excellent, due to the fact that we place the order, found a table, then we have to go get our food, and get our drinks. Any condiments you want, you have to get for yourself. Now you know why the service was so good, we served ourselves! Would you believe, I tipped myself 30%?

We did go to David’s homestead, the Alex had left his sweat shirt in my ole pickup Friday, and since it is getting cold, we thought he might need it. Dave and Claire are looking to buy a new car to replace the ole Gray car, they are trying to choose between three different brands.

I have basically done nothing all day Saturday, I did get a nap, and then watched some ole black and white movies.

I was looking at one of the security cameras and I saw a white line and it was on an angle. It appeared to be out at the back fence. I went outside to see what it was and I did not see anything at the fence. I again looked at the monitor for camera 5 and it was still there. It took me a while but I finally learned it was not at the fence, it was a rope tied to a tree and the rope went to an inverted V antenna. That is a ham radio antenna.

I also had an unusual situation Saturday morning. The red metal bench in the front yard was turned over and laying on its back. I told my favorite wife and she wondered who, or how it was turned over. I went back in to the security cameras and at 9:20am there was a tremendous gust of wind, which turned the bench over on its back.

As I am writing this, and everything above, on Saturday afternoon, the three stooges are on and the first two movies are ones they have shown very often. Now you know why I am entering data, rather than watching the TV. Maybe the next one will be something I haven’t seen lately. I just checked and there is no local news on yet. Summary of 3 stooges, 5 of the 6 shows had been shown in the last couple weeks.

It is supposed to be in the 20s tonight and I like to see the local weather to see when I will need to turn on the heat in the hot house. The sun has been shining most of the afternoon, so the house should be very warm for a while.

Speaking of weather, at about 11:00am we left the homestead to go to lunch, and it was sleeting. There was sleet and some rain mixed for about a half hour, then all was back to normal. On the way to lunch we stopped at what use to be the dollar store. I say use to be, as now most, if not all the items are $1.25. I needed a couple bags of mints like I keep in the Ford’s ole Chevy.

Virus; nope we don’t have it, and we are thankful, we have received some free, N-95 masks from a couple locations. We also received our free, government supplied at home virus test kits yesterday.

I guess that is it for Saturday, we will see if I have anything new to add, in the morning.

It is now Sunday morning and it is cold (22 degrees). It is supposed to warm up today into the 60s, and that will be good. I have no real plans for the day, I guess I could take it easy today, finally, some rest for a retired senior person. Wait a minute, resting is all I have been doing! Why break a habit, resting isn’t that bad?

Have a blessed day!

Dog gone 02/12/2022

Our next-door neighbor has two dogs, one male one female, they look a lot alike except, the female is slightly bigger than the male. The male dog has in the past, escaped their yard and entered our yard, where he and Tres ran and played.

Well, the male dog escapes their yard often, and for about a week we had not seen the male. Yesterday he reappeared in their back yard. This morning the male had escaped and was in the ditch behind our house trying to get into our yard. I had secured the gate where he use to get into our yard, so, not being able to get in, he and Tres were running along the back fence.

Then I saw the neighbor out in his back yard, the cold wind blowing like crazy, while he was attempting to get the male dog back in his yard. I called the Tres into the house, which helped calm the male dog down, and get him back in the yard.

And that is how my Saturday morning began!

My Friday was filled with manure. First, I headed out to the ole work site, where I paid for and loaded my manure. I purchased 8 bags of the brown stuff. Actually, the cow manure is mixed with top soil so it is a fertile bag of dirt.

The Don’s ole senior body was able to spread 5 of the 8 bags, all in prep for the upcoming period of growth, aka spring. The front yard will require many hours of work to get it to look the way our CEO (Donna) wants.

I have the TV on and Buck Rogers is on. It is fun to watch, but don’t make much sense with what we know about space travel.

I have suggested to my favorite wife, that we should attempt to have lunch at the new restaurant here in Hewitt. It is a Mexican restaurant, and it just opened a few days ago. We hope the food is good.

Well, I am stopping for now, hope you have a good day!

Wash not, be dirty 02.11.2022

The title line is truthful. If you don't wash you will be dirty!

We had planned on washing the pot hound Tres today, as it was predicted to get up to 77 degrees today. We washed the Tres Thursday afternoon, it was 74 degrees, here is what happened.

I noticed a neighbor riding his electric bike so I went out to talk with him. As we talked, I learned, that he has not been feeling good, body aches and other ailments, and he was coughing some. I asked if he had the virus again, he said no. I stayed at a safe distance as we communicated.

Now during the few minutes that we had, I noticed that the sun was shining on me, and I was very warm, to a point of being hot. I then decided to see if my favorite wife would go outside in the back 40 with me for a shower, with the warm sun on our bodies, it would be comfortable! 😊

She agreed, as long as the shower was not for me, but for the Dog! 😐 As usual, she got her way and we washed the Tres. He seemed to like it but he likes playing with the towel after the washing more. The Tres does smell better now! 😊

Note; the sun went behind a cloud while we were washing the pot hound.

I did not do a lot yesterday, I did go to get gas in the Ford's ole Chevy, $3.07 per gallon. We here at the Fords homestead may need to stop driving, ole retired people can't afford these high prices.

I did get a bottle of adult beverage yesterday, the price has gone up a dollar per bottle, we can afford that!

I did run the lawn sprinklers yesterday, the grass said thank you! Ok it didn't say it out loud, but I knew it was thankful!

I didn't get to pick the Alex up after school yesterday, that kind of messed up my normal schedule. To get back on a normal schedule, my present spouse and I did go to the cracker store for supper and it was very good. The young lady who was our server, was a new employee. She was very pleasant and would you believe, I tipped her, "A whole quarter!"

It seems as if they have raised the price of some of the food at the cracker store, we may have to stop going there weekly, maybe we can afford it monthly.

Today, I get to go to the ole past employer to pick up some more manure. Yes, it is in bags this time! Since I will be in the area, I might stop by the star coffee place and get a cup.

I aske my present spouse if she was planning something special to eat this Sunday, as there is a football show on TV. My favorite wife just gave me the look! You know the look, it says without words, "You must be crazy"! I wasn't planning on watching the Football show, but I would have like some special snacks.

Enjoy the warm day!
