                This is the last day of this month, and it is supposed to rain. That all being true, I will wish you a happy good morning.

                Big events from yesterday, we did go into Waco and had a sandwich for lunch, we did visit a store where we purchased a few vegetables, and then we went to a big store where my favorite wife looked for a purse. She did get a new blouse but did not find the purse.

                Today’s possible events; take Alex to school, go to the dentist’s this morning, go to rehab after lunch and then go back into Waco where I might purchase some new glasses and my favorite wife can look for a new purse and a new skirt. I should go the grocery store as there are a couple things I need, but will I have the time?

                Well, I need to go brush my teeth again and head over to the dentist.

                The morning has started off well, I did get Alex to school on time, and we wish you a good morning.

                Rehab yesterday went well; I did go to Bible study an hour early yesterday afternoon as each class had some food to eat and we had time to talk about things. The bible study lecture and class were good.

                Today we have no real plans, we might go into Waco and visit the hardware store.

                We are supposed to start getting rain tomorrow evening and they are predicting a lot of heavy rain. We hope there will be no flooding and that no one gets hurt in a storm or flooding.

                Alex is scheduled to take his driver’s test tomorrow; we hope the rain holds off until after the driver’s test. Alex is wearing his ROTC dress uniform at school today, as I understand it, all the group leaders wear the dress uniform.

                I need to take a break before I start my bible study homework, so have a blessed day and stay safe in all you do. You are in our prayers.

                Good morning to you on this Monday morning.

                Allow me to explain what we did yesterday, which was nice and relaxing. We did go to lunch, and we did need to wait to get seated and that was not relaxing. We did go about 30 minutes later than usual but it did not help us get seated any earlier, we will not do that again.

                We returned home and at about 2:00pm we went to the front porch and sat. Setting outside gets us away from the TV and we have more direct conversations. Now I should note that I took my book from Charlie Kirk and I read it a large portion of the time that we sat out. I am not a good reader and I have never been. If I read slowly and stay focused I do well, but if I hurry, I miss read words and these words are usually the smaller words which can make the meaning of a sentence completely wrong.

                The Weather was hot but not too hot and there were breezes most of the time. Very little traffic and there were not a lot of drones flying over. One of our discussions was about the book I am reading. The main subject of the book is the Sabbath and why it is not only religious it is also good for one’s mental and physical health. There are many topics in this book, and I do find it very interesting.

                I did get Alex to school on time today; he does go to take his driving test this Wednesday and then if he passes, he should be driving himself to school.

                I do go to rehab today and we do have bible study this evening. There is a fellowship this evening and that means we need to be there an hour early to have some pizza and some social time with the group.

                Good morning

                It is “Sunday” and I wonder why they named it “Sunday”. Was it because the sun started shining that day, so it was named Sun Day.

                Speaking of the sun, there was a full moon last night and it was known as “the harvest moon”. My favorite wife and I did set outside and observed the rise of “the harvest moon”. We do not usually watch the moon rise, so the evening was doing something we don’t normally do.

                My favorite wife allowed me to take her out for lunch yesterday. The food and service were good, and we enjoyed the time together.

                Alex did get the yard mowed and trimmed, not everything needed to be mowed or trimmed due to the drought. I removed some of the dead from the number 2 berry bed but there is still much more to remove. Yes, I did have some blood on my arm from the stickers.

                 As we sat outside yesterday afternoon the weather was good, the temp was comfortable, we did not need to run the big ole fan as there was a breeze most of the time. We both noticed that the neighborhood was even quieter than usual with only a bird or two chirping. There were almost no vehicles driving on the street and a couple did walk down and back up the street pushing their baby carriage.

                No big plans for Sun Day other than we will likely go to the cracker store for lunch. I may wait and go about 30 minutes later than usual in an effort to mis part of the crowd. We have noticed that about 30 minutes after we are seated the number of people in the building seems to be less. Less people might mean we get a quicker table, so I might go a little later.

                We made it to another Saturday morning and we want to say, “good morning to you”!

                What did the Ole Fords do yesterday? Well, we did go to the store to get a couple items that my favorite wife wanted and then we returned home where we ate our leftovers from Thursday nights meal at the restaurant.  

                After a short rest period, you know I need a rests period after each meal, I then went to the store to get a few grocery type items. Items procured I returned home where I attempted to do my daily bible study. This was one of those days that I did not seem to have all the answers. I then decided to read from the Charlie Kerk book, I am a little more than halfway through it. I usually sit down to read and then something interrupts my reading, you know, like I need to vacuum the floor…

                Later we sat outside with a friend, and it was a nice afternoon. Heck, the temp was nice enough and there was a breeze, so we did not need the big ole fan blowing air on us. It seemed as if we were watching the sky yesterday and there were some odd clouds and a trail from a jet flyover left a trail. Not either of the photos are as good as what we saw in the sky.

  

                The jet trail at first looked like a rocket launch then it kept getting wider and it was looking like a road as it got wider in the sky. You need to be there to really enjoy yesterday’s sky.

                We did learn from our friend who has been coming over most Friday afternoons that she will no longer come over on Friday to sit outside with us. It seems as if it is difficult for her to drive over here due to all the traffic, you know, people getting off from work and school being out that time of day. She has decided to come over on Saturday afternoon as there is less traffic.  

                I have asked Alex to come over and do some yard work today so I will need to go get him. There is some mowing and trimming of the grass and the big job is removing dead from the # 2 berry bed.

                Well, I guess that is it for now, we pray for a blessed day for all and that we stay safe in all we do. We will keep you in our prayers.

                It is still dark as I wish you a good morning and our lawn sprinkler is running. They say we have a much better chance of rain next week.

                 Have now returned from taking Alex to school and the sun is coming up.

                Yesterday I was able to water the three berry beds yesterday morning, they look bad and need a good rain to help them live. Watering helps, but we need the rain.

I did get to the rehab yesterday afternoon and all went well.

We went out to supper with our neighbors from down the street, supper was good conversations were nice after eating we returned home with some leftovers which I put in the refrigerator. We then headed over to the school for the concert. The music was good and we enjoyed it. We were able to make it home safe and sound after the concert.

                Today's possible events, I might go to the store for a few groceries, I might take my favorite wife to the store for a couple items that she needs. I should have leftover food for lunch today.

                If it were to be cloudy later today, I might attempt to start removing the dead vines for the number 2 berry bed. If not, I might be able to talk Alex into doing the work on Saturday.

                Hello and good morning to you!

                Big events yesterday were; getting the oil changed in the Fords new Chevy. This was the first time the oil was changed, and it was a free service. It took almost two hours to change the oil and rotate the tires. After that time sitting and waiting, I decided on the way home I would get my hair cut. The hair cut was completed in less than 5 minutes.

After the haircut, I did stop and got some food for lunch as I headed home. I did almost nothing the rest of the day and my wife was going through some old items most of the day. We did set outside and the weather was not as hot as it has been and there was some breeze blowing which helped. It did seem as if the birds were all flying everywhere and making a lot of sounds.

Today at about 2:00 this afternoon I get to go to rehab for my foot, then arriving back at home we will be heading out for our early supper with friends, then after supper we will go to the concert at the high school as Alex will be performing. As you can see, it is a quiet morning and a busy afternoon.

Each morning when I leave the house heading over to get Alex the sun is not yet up and the sky is often beautiful with various shades of pink against a very bright blue sky. I have taken photos, but they do not seem to show the real beauty of the morning sky.

                We hope everyone is having another good morning.

                Yesterday we did go into Waco and again shopped for a dress for my favorite wife, and again we did not find what she was looking for.

We were able to have a sandwich for lunch, and we dropped by the small grocery store where I purchased some cookies for the dog Tres, I also got some Brockley. We like a Brockley salad here at the Ford homestead.

Back at home I worked on the paperwork that had covered my desk. I paid a couple bills and reviewed the insurance bills for the home and car. I called the insurance place and asked why my bill was so high, and they said because you have a claim.

I also had a bill for $25.86 from our doctor so I called about that and found out it was an error and I did not need to pay it.

I did get a photo of some acorns that I removed from the walk (20 just on the walk), they are large acorns even though they do not look too large. These along with other acorns fell the other day when we were supposed to get some rain and all we got was acorn rain.

                I have gotten Alex to school, and I have an appointment to get thew oil changed in the Fords new Chevy this morning, so I need to stop and get started. The appointment is at 9:00am and that is when I usually start my bible study homework. Wow, I will be off my normal schedule.

                Good morning…

                There was some rain in the area yesterday, but we did not get any at our house. We did get the wind, and we have a few sticks in the yard and when the wind began blowing, we had some acorns rain down from the trees.

                I did go to the rehab yesterday, and they made me work my ankle a lot. Heck, I have a list of things I need to do here at the house for my ankle. There is never any rest of us ole senior people.

                As I was leaving to go to bible study yesterday evening, I noticed the air conditioner truck pull up in front of a good friend’s house. I thought “he will not be at bible study tonight”, but he did get there, he was a little late.

                Bible study went well but I do not like the room our class is in. We have too many men for this small room. There is no space between the chairs at the tables and I do like a little extra room in the classes. Other than that, the class was good. During the lecture we usually take a few notes, and I quickly learned I had lost the pin which I had brough with me, so no notes were taken by me.

                Back at home after the bible study, my favorite wife and I did have a bowl of ice cream before I headed off to bed.

                Today I need to take Alex to school, and I have a bunch of papers here on my desk that I need to go through and take care of. I will not comment on the fact that Fall starts today.

                Good morning to all we hope your day starts well. School is out today so I will not need to take Alex to school.

                Yesterday was a nice day, we went to the cracker store for lunch, and we did need to wait for a table. I believe if we went about 30 minutes later, we would not need to wait to be seated as the crowd seems to dissipate about 11:30.

                Back at home we did very little in the way of work I didn’t even wash the clothes so I will do that today. We sat on the front porch for a while as I wanted to read, and I like to be outside. It was hot and I did get to read, but after a while I became sleepy and we headed back into the house. About 4:30 we again went outside and sat, this time at the driveway with the big ole fan blowing.

                The smell of something dead was still in the air. I did check in our plants to see if there was something dead in them, but I found nothing. The dead smell would come and go with the wind. We are not sure where the smell comes from, and no, it is not from the trash container, I checked.

                Let’s look at today: I have an appointment with rehab today for my ankle and we have the cleaning lady coming to our house, I need to get the clothes washed and it is also Bible study night. Seems like lots to do.

                We wish you a good morning even though the sun isn’t up yet.

                Major events from yesterday: I did get started early pulling weeds from the flower bed in the front yard. I worked at the weed removal until the sun began to shine on me and I then stopped. I then procured the battery powered string trimmer from the shed, and I removed some more vines that were coming onto the walkway and the porch.

                Do I have a photo of a blooming flower?

                The bloom is from a vine in the Jasmin bed, it is not supposed to be there, but it was pretty and very small.

                As I was working outside early in the morning, I heard what sounded like gun fire off in the distance. I then assumed it was dove hunters attempting to kill some doves. In the olden days I would do that but now days I don’t see any need to harvest the doves.

                Speaking of doves, they are enjoying the crushed pecans on the street in front of the neighbor’s house. The pecans fall on the street, and the cars crush then so the birds have lunch. The doves also seem to enjoy the bird bath in our back yard.

I put the tools away and since I was hot and sweaty I decided to continue some outside work and I watered the number two and three berry beds. I had watered the number one bed the day before.

That work completed, I decided to attempt to cool down and take a shower. I was able to get some bible reading completed before we headed out to Waco for lunch. Our lunch was very good and as usual the service was also good.

Lunch was completed, we then drove further into Waco as I wanted to purchase a bottle of adult beverage, then we headed for home.

Back at home I did nothing, and my favorite wife worked on some fall decorations.

Later in the afternoon we did set outside and the neighborhood was very quiet as usual with only a few drones flying over.

There is a smell of something dead in the area and we have been smelling it for the last two days. The smell goes and comes due to the wind. I have asked a couple neighbors if they have smelled it and only one neighbor who is next door to us said she had.  We do not know where it is coming from our exactly what the smell is.

Today’s probable event: lunch at the cracker store and I hope to get to read more from the Charlie Kirk book. I am about halfway done with the book.

                Good morning to all as we pray for a blessed day for us all.

                Yesterday was a kickback and do-little day. I did get a few items from the grocery store, and I did water the potted plants in the back yard and I also waterer the #1 berry bed as it looked very bad.

We sat outside with a friend yesterday afternoon with the main discussion being the stinky smell. It would blow in with the wind and then go away. I even called the city about the smell and they did send a truck out to check it out. We at this time do not know what it is, and it isn’t there all the time just when we get a breeze.

                Today I need to pull more weeds from the flower beds out front but that is real work and I am not good at real work.

                We will likely go into Waco as I want to get a couple items and maybe have lunch. I need to get started and let you rest. Have a safe and blessed day, we will keep you in our prayers.

                We would like to say good morning to you, and a good day to that other person.

                Yesterday’s events; after dropping Alex off at school and returning home I did get on my knees in the front yard, this time I was attempting to pull weeds from a flower bed. I worked until the sun started shining directly on me. I will need to get on my knees again to continue the process as there are more weeds to be removed.

                After a cool down period and a shower, we went into Waco and visited three stores where we purchased nothing. My favorite wife was looking for a dress that she could wear to a wedding, but she did not find what she wanted.

                We did go to the sandwich shop but the lady who usually takes our order, her car was not there so I just drove on. A lot of the reasons we go there is because we like that lady, and the sandwiches are good.  

                Back at home I worked on my bible study for next week. Later in the afternoon we went out for supper, and we should say the food and service were very good. We returned home and we sat outside for a while. We have noticed that the birds are beginning to use the bird houses again that hang on the car port. The birds all seem to vanish after the baby birds grew up and the houses were not used but now, they are returning.

                Today’s possible events: go to the grocery store and get a few things and then wait and see what else happens.

                Good morning to you and as for me, I have plans to work in the yard this morning.

                Let’s look at yesterday for a moment. My favorite wife and I went out for breakfast, and it was good as usual. Back at home we had some time to rest and do my bible reading and bible study homework.

Later, I went to the human vet (aka doctor) and they checked me out for possible rehab. It was determined that my knee is ok for now, but my left foot needs some work. I have a lot of arthritis and bone spurs in that ankle. I will start some rehab next week.

                Back at home we sat on the front porch and talked about the quiet neighborhood, and the cat bird was making some noise down the street from us. That bird makes other sounds too. I did get a cold drink for both of us and on the way back to my seat, I also took a photo of a cactus bloom.

                This morning I have taken Alex to school, and I am working on the flower bed out front. I want to remove the grass and weeds that are in the beds. I have worked for a while and I did get a bunch of grass and weeds pulled but I still have a bunch to do. When I got done, I took a shower, and then our plans are to go into town and attempt to purchase some clothes. I might also go to the booze store and get a bottle of adult beverage.

                I need to go through papers on my desk and get rid of some and do what’s necessary with the others.

                Good morning to all, it is somewhat cool this morning (78) even though we are supposed to again have a high temp of 101.

                I will attempt to keep this article short as there were few interesting events yesterday. I do want to comment on one thought. When I was a kid, I heard people talk about a “cat bird”. This bird was supposed to sound like a cat. I had never heard it myself until yesterday.

My favorite wife was in the garage going through some fall decorations and I went out to talk with her. As we were talking, I heard what I thought was a cat. I looked around in the garage and there was no cat. I kept hearing it, so I walked out of the garage and looked around, still no cat. The sound stopped but I kept looking, it had sounded like a small cat to me. Then I heard it again and this time it sounded as if it was coming from a tree. I heard the cat sound then another sound coming from the same tree. When I heard it a couple more times I then believed it was coming from a “cat bird”.

            Later in the afternoon when my favorite wife and I were sitting outside, I took the so-called smart phone and I asked Google, “is there a cat bird?” and Google said there is, and it described the bird. Wow, AI helping even old people learn new things.

            Today, my favorite wife and I plan to go out for breakfast this morning and this afternoon I have a doctor’s appointment to see if I need some rehab on my knee and or ankle.

Another very warm good morning to you. As I understand it, a normal high temperature for this time of year is 91 degrees and yesterday it was 102.

I was able to get Alex to school this morning on time and safely. The school traffic in Hewitt it is crazy in the mornings, it is like being in Dallas TX at rush hour.

Yesterday we did get the two storm doors installed, yes, I do have photos of both doors. The work seemed to be done well and we're happy with the new doors. Tres is not happy as he can not push the back storm door open and go outside.

I mowed the front yard even though it was very hot, and I did vacuum up some of the leaves from the back yard.

My favorite wife and I did not do a lot yesterday, heck we did not even sit outside yesterday afternoon. I had bible study last night, so we ate supper earlier than usual as I needed to put everything away before I went to the bible study as it starts early.

Bible study has changed this year; the men have the lecture first and then go to class and the women go to class first then have lecture. Personally, I do not like it this way, but I will try it for a while.

Today’s main event is taking the dog Tres to the vet. Wow always too much for an ole senior person to do.

                Good morning to all, we are expecting another 100-degree day and if we do they say we will set a record for 100-degree days in September.

                What did “the Don” do yesterday? He was allowed to take his favorite wife out for lunch. The food and service were both good. Returning home he was allowed to rest for a while and then head out to the grocery store for a few items.

                Returning home and the grocery items placed properly in the cabinets or refrigerator, I again took a short rest before it was suggested, “that I might need to vacuum the floors”.

                Floors vacuumed, I then started washing the clothes. The major work in washing is that some items need to be properly placed on hangers and then placed properly in the closet, which I did.

                We did go outside to set at about 4:30 and as usual it was hot. I did need to check on the clothes in the dryer a couple times while we were outside. Conversations covered many things and the big one seemed to be when we were kids. How do old people remember things from that meny years ago?

                Today we are supposed to get the new storm doors installed so I will need to get our dog to stay in the garage and not attack the installer.

Parts of the front yard need to be mowed, and I am not sure if I will attempt that or not. Bible study begins this evening, and I am not happy with the lecture being first and the group meeting being second.

                Good morning to all, we hope you have a blessed Sunday.

                Yesterday was another old person’s day, you know not doing a lot of interesting things. How interesting is it sitting in the ole worn-out recliner thinking I would like to go outside and do some yard work, but it is too hot, so I get the exercise device and exercise while still sitting in the ole worn-out recliner.

                My favorite wife started to work on a wreathe on the front porch, changing the color of the flowers from spring and summer to fall colors. I dragged my ole body out of the house and removed some debris from the front yard and even though that is not difficult work I did get hot and sweaty.

                “We”, meaning my favorite wife and I, did go to a friend’s house at the end of the block with a gift. We only stayed a few minutes and then we returned to our home where we cooled down for a while before heading outside with another friend to set in the heat. As usual, the big ole fan provided us a breeze.

                One topic that I provided was about a leaf on the street. I noted as I was removing the debris from the front yard there was a single dead leaf that was moving down the street and it made enough noise that it sounded like someone was walking. Yes, there was a small breeze moving the leaf and the neighborhood was as usual very quiet. Other topics were fire trucks, drones, and cars that look alike.

                Our friend had parked and gone into a store and when she came out there was a man attempting to get into her vehicle. She asked what he was doing and he apologized as he had gone to the wrong vehicle, his was parked next to hers and the vehicles were identical.

                Today our big plans will be to take it easy, stay safe in anything we do. We pray that you have a blessed day and that we all stay safe in all we do. We will keep you in our prayers.

                Good morning to all, we did get some rain yesterday, there is 1/8-inch water in the rain gage. My favorite wife and I sat on the front porch as it was raining and we enjoyed the rain. Do I have a photo of the clouds before the rain arrived? Yes.

                Yes, that is my finger on the left side of the photo.

                Yesterday’s activities included driving into Waco, shopping at a store, eating at the sandwich place, shopping at another store and driving home.

                Today is supposed to be another hot day with temps at 102. About one third of the front yard needs to be mowed but I am not sure I will do that; we will see how the day goes. With no big plans my favorite wife and I might go for a ride out in the country.

                I get a notice on the computer each day showing what mail (post office mail) we will be getting. Today I will get a bill that I will need to pay and a Jury notice. I thought they let old people off Jury duty.

                I will also put the photo of the painting that I could not post on the 10^th. The neighbor’s granddaughter does pretty artwork.

                We hope you have a good morning even though it is the 25th anniversary of 911. There will be a lot of information about 911 on the news today so I will keep my thoughts to myself.

                My favorite wife and I along with friends went to supper at the Cracker store last night. It is always nice to have supper with friends who have lived on our block longer than we have. As usual we did set outside after returning from supper yesterday.

                Major projects form yesterday; watered the flowers in pots and the berry beds. They predicted rain last night, if we got any I am unaware if it.

                Today we might go to a store as my favorite wife might want to look at clothes.

                Good morning and good day.

                Today is the day before the 25 anniversary of the 911 attack on America. I was in New York state the day of the attack, I was not in New York City.

                Let’s see if I did anything yesterday. I did go to a couple places to get quotes on car and home insurance. It is interesting how the quotes on the home are basically the same but on the car they vary. I will need to decide what to do in the next couple days.

                My favorite wife and I took a quick trip into Waco yesterday to a grocery store where we purchased a couple items. One item was a bottle of Pineapple wine which we gave to a friend. We had told her about the fact that it tasted good and we wanted her to try it, she liked it.

                We sat outside yesterday afternoon, and we discussed the fact that we talk to each other more when we set outside than we do if we are inside the house. There are just too many distractions inside the house, and the TV is always on. Back in the olden days before everyone had TVs people often kept the radio on all day. I guess having the TV or radio on helps us feel like we are not alone.

                Our neighbor’s granddaughter brough us a painting as we sat outside. She is probably 12 years old, and she has given us other paintings in the past.  

                We are happy to have these good neighbor grandkids.

                Our big plan for today is to go to supper with friends. We plan to go to a different restaurant for supper and that is unusual. We have gone to the same restaurant for supper on Thursday evening for probably a year or two, and today we break the norm, and go to a different restaurant.
