Ace of spades 05/16/2021

Well, if you have ever played cards, you should know what an ace of spades is. This soon to be most excellent article, has nothing to due with cards. As that one person who may have read the previous posting should know, I was considering spading some of the back 40 yesterday. Well, I did, photo to follow.

As a good friend pointed out to me (Bob) gloves are good when spading, and I couldn’t agree more.

I kind of thought this would not be too difficult, the area about 4 x 12 feet. I had not planned for the rocks, some kind of large, and one big one that is still there, along with some roots from the bushes that use to be there.

As one might see in the next photo, the area was spaded, and this ole person was very tired. In the photo, do not look at the amount of hair this senior person has, look at the work he has done.

The senior retired person was able to get the tools put away and drag his ole body back to the homestead after the grueling work. The area is now ready for the coming rain. When the area is again dry, we plan to add some potting soil and mix it in with the present dirt, then we will add in a couple black berries that I have dug up out of the other patches.

In the next photo we see some of the rocks that were removed from #3. You may have noticed that there is a long-sleeved shirt and a hat on the swing, it was hot and the sun was shining at times. Did I take breaks by sitting on one of the swings, yep!

Today, Sunday will hopefully be a day of rest, ole people need to rest.

Don’t work and it won’t get done!
