Zero in the account 12/04/2021

If you read the title line, you now understand that there was zero in the account. What you don’t know is, who’s account, and which account it was.

The story is as follows. There was this ole senior retired person, who had decided to go to town one December morning. One might not know it was December, as the temperature was in the mid-60s that morning as the retired person mounted his ole pickup truck and headed out.

This ole retired person had a couple tasks in mind for the day, one was to purchase a rake that could be used in and around the flower beds, then he also has decided to replace the light at the garage door, as the ole one was not a motion detecting light.

As this retired person was heading for town, he decided to stop by the teller machine and check his account at the bank. When he arrived at the teller machine, he noticed that when he put his card in, instead of leaving it in the machine as usual during the process, the machine instructed him to remove the card. Not a bad idea he thought, as he removed his card. Then he requested a balance check on the account, he did not want to get any money, he just wanted to check the balance. This retired person was surprised as the balance indicated zero (0).

Wow, there should have been more than $42.17 in this account, and it is zero! The ole senior person drove away from the teller machine and went inside the bank. He approached the live teller and explained what he was trying to do, and that he had received a zero balance from the teller machine. The nice lady did some checking, asked for the ole retired persons ID, and then told him he had some money in the account. She also provided him a receipt and there was more then $42.17 in the account!

A couple months ago this ole retired person had lost his wallet. He had replaced all his cards that were in the wallet, including the bank debit credit card. The new card had not been set up to access the account that has more then $42.17 in it.

Happy again, this ole person headed on into town. Originally, this ole senior person was going to the Home store, but as he drove, he decided to go to the Low store (the ole senior person doesn’t advertise unless paid). When the ole retired person arrived at the store, he found that they had moved some of the product around. Where the rakes use to be, there was all kinds of pesticides and other items in bottles. The ole retired person looked around and finally found the rake, he then headed for the lights, and after some searching, he found a light that was what he wanted.

At the self-checkout, one of the employees actually checked the ole retired senior person’s merchandise for him. He then drove home, where he sat in his ole recliner, and took a well-deserved nap.

Once the ole retired person awoke from the nap, he proceeded out to his garage and began removing the ole light. There was something he had never experienced before, the box in the wall that the wires come through, was completely filled with dirt, from dirt dauber nests. It took several minutes to clean all the dirt dauber nest out. The ole light had not been caulked around the base and the dirt daubers got in that way. He was able to installed the new light and he caulked around the base.

Change of topics; squirrel agitates cat. Yesterday afternoon as I sat outside, I was observing the squirrel aggravating our cat, Molly. The squirrel would come down the tree, make noise, and shake its tail. Molly would run to the tree and the squirrel would go back up the tree. This happened several times, I know the squirrel was having fun. In the photo it is difficult to see Molly, as she blends in with the color of the tree bottom.

Other than that, the ole retired person had a good day. Heck, even his first wife sat outside with him during happy hour. What could be better than sitting outside with your spouse and gossiping about everything?

Don’t ask who that ole retired person was, I will not divulge his name!

May it rain all day!
