Nothing to do 06/13/2021

Let us see what we did yesterday. We went out to the #1 and #2 beds to secure any black berries that needed to be picked. So far, we have in the freezer more than 25 quarts of berries.

We left the house and drove to the teller machine where I procured our weekly stipends (aka allowance) $5.00 for each of us. We then went to the home store and reviewed refrigerators, where we found one, which we liked, and then we went to the other big store where we found another ice box we liked a little more, and it was 2 cubic feet larger. The second one cost more, but it was bigger than the first, with a much larger freezer area.

As one would expect, they did not have it in stock and it may take up to a week to get the new refrigerator. Also, it was very difficult to get an employee to help us.

Later, when we were at home the freezer portion of the ole unit stopped working. The upper portion which is the refrigerator, is still working. There are two systems in that unit. We hope it will continue working until the new unit gets here. You do know, we are getting an ice box for the garage, not the house!

Leaving the big store after obligating ourselves to a large payment for the ice box, we went to the farm store (farm store name begins with an O) where we bought some dog food. We have been purchasing the same brand of dog food for a long time, and recently we bought some that was different, even though it was suppose to be the same brand with same ingredients. Tres did not like the new version.

We then went to the hamburger place for a burger, fries, and root beer. We were the only people inside. They had a lot of drive through, which I assume caused them to be slow inside. The food was ok but not great.

We left the burger joint (jacks place) and headed for home. I did stop at a local store on the way home and picked up an item.

At home I decided to see if I could move some dirt in the #3 bed, but it was only dry on top. The dirt was too wet to work with, and it was too hot for an ole person to be outside.

My favorite spouse had earlier yesterday morning, moved a lot of items that were on top the ole ice box and the deep freeze, to the garage floor.

That afternoon she went out and went through them finding proper locations for them or just getting rid of them. While she was outside, she also removed some weeds from a flower bed, along with some flowers that were over populated.

As I am writing this post, my favorite wife and Tres have gone out to again pick the berries. Yep, we pick the morning and evening. Yes, I went out and help with the harvesting. While I was helping, I observed an unusual item in our yard, photo to follow.

It is a turtle; he was about 5 inches from front to rear. I picked him up and he began to poop, it stunk. Now you may notice the ground, which is in the #2 bed, is cracked. The top of the ground is dry but an inch or two down, it is wet.

Our favorite grandson Alex, is on his way to boy scout camp today. He will be there all week and they are not allowed to have any electronics like a phone or tablet. How will these scouts exist for a week, without their electronics?

All in all, an easy and restful day!

Meatloaf for lunch, wow!
