No Power 06/08/2021

Well, it rained a little yesterday which cause me to consider. In the bible there was a time when the entire world was destroyed with a flood. There was 40 days and nights of rain. Now it was said that he would never destroy the world again with a flood. Would you believe, we have now had 40 days of rain here at the Fords Homestead, so possibly the rain will now stop for a while.

It may be that I am not supposed to have a #3 black berry bed. Photos to follow.

The first photo was from yesterday, taken during the rain. We can see the #3 bed on the other side of the swing, filled with water. The second photo is just a close up of #3.

We had 2.5 inches of rain yesterday, and another inch and a half this morning. Our power went off shortly after the rain began and has been off for an hour. If I need to bring the generator to the house later it will be difficult pulling it through the wet ground, it weighs 100 pounds, it does have wheels.

The generator was one of the reasons I wanted to construct another rack shelf in the garage. There would have been a place for the generator in the garage and not out in the shed. When the rain stops for a couple days, I will be able to get a power saw out and cut some wood for a new rack.

There was a lot of wind for a while, and now the rain has ceased, but we are still hearing thunder all around us. The back yard is now flooded as deep as it ever has been. With the ground totally saturated, nothing is being absorbed and everything is having to flow downhill.

Even though I am entering this into the computer, I can’t send it until the power comes back on.

The power is back on! clocks are all reset, cable and internet are back on.

No power, no coffee!

Power, now coffee!
