Cold and rain 02.20.19

The Presidents Day holiday is over. Truthfully I do not know why a president needs a holiday. Presidents have people doing everything for them and all they have to do is look like they are working, so why do they have a holiday?

Well, I will tell you why. The presidents holiday was created in an effort to provide the unionize government employees another day off work with pay. Some try to tell us the president’s day was created to honor George Washington. George isn’t around, so he will not know of the so-called, “Honor”.

Let’s move to a subject that is more positive in nature. My present spouse and I, made the long journey to the town of Clifton TX yesterday, just so we could have lunch at the Bunk House.       Dalton, the food was great!

As you would know, if you read Tuesday’s posting, we were not allowed to venture forth Monday for lunch, possibly due to the Presidents holiday. We decided a second attempt was necessary.

My first wife had an appointment yesterday morning, and as planned, following the appointment we began the long and stressful trip to Clifton, (approximately 36 miles one way), in the Ford’s ole Chevy, even though it was raining.

Before that one rude person asks, no my spouse of 5 decades was not required to ride in the back of the Ford’s ole Chevy, in order to pick up aluminum cans on the way to Clifton. That would be crazy! It was raining, so she rode inside the Ford’s ole Chevy. It was a little more time consuming when she had to get out and pick up some aluminum cans, but I would rather take a little extra time, so my favorite wife would not be wet from the rain.

When we returned home from the Bunk House, I went to the mail box, and in the Ford’s ole mail box there was a check from the IRS. Did you know that the IRS will send you a check for the amount you over paid, even if it was as much as $49.00. Do you know how happy the Ford family is, now that they have a check from the IRS? What will we purchase with that much money?

Go to a favorite eatery with your favorite spouse!
