On a Fixed income 02.09.19

As all but that one person knows, being on a fixed income means you can’t have all the nice things that those people who are not on a fixed income have. It is very difficult when your “present spouse”, has to walk the country roads at all hours, looking for aluminum cans. Even though being on a fixed income can be very embarrassing and hurtful, it is even more hurtful when others know.
The other afternoon Tres and I went for a walk. As usual he was sniffing every mail box we passed, and occasionally he would leave his mark. There was nothing unusual about this walk, the neighborhood dogs barked at us as we passed and Tres kept his eyes open for any cats.
We were almost finished with our walk as we rounded the corner and headed for the house. I looked up and saw a sign telling everyone, people on a fixed income had less than others. The sign had to do with electric in our homestead. Why did the city see the need to tell everyone we have no electric in our house? I guess all the retirees on our street are on a fixed income and we all have an electric problem.
As you may see in the following photo, the city has told anyone driving down our street that we have no outlets. When you don’t have outlets you don’t have electricity. We pay taxes and the city treats us like that!

Everyone knows we have no outlets!
