It was 78 degrees in Hewitt Texas for a couple days (Tuesday and Wednesday), and yesterday morning (Thursday) at 5:00am, when I first popped out of bed, it was a nice 72 degrees.
As I sit here at the ole key board, it is a frigid 28 degrees outside. For that one reader who failed math, that is 44 degrees cooler this morning than it was yesterday morning.
The prognosticators are saying there might be a little winter mix fall from the sky today. What, you have a question. Ok, I will explain; prognosticator in this setting is, a so-called weather person.
What? That wasn’t your question. Oh, you want to know what a winter mix is. Let’s see if I can keep this simple. “A winter mix” is anything that is mixed together during the winter! That includes anything like a cake mix, homemade vegetable soup, anything mixed together during the winter. Now do you understand winter mix?
I guess Hewitt is now considered as a big city. We had our first bank robbery this week. One of our police officers was shot at, and hit, while chasing the robber. The officer is doing ok at home. They caught the bad guy after he wrecked his pickup truck.

There is a bunch of politicians who are saying we all need to go to total solar power and wind power. Wow, it sounds so good but it might not be as perfect as it sounds. There are areas here in the US where they have these wind farms and other areas where they have solar farms which provide electrical power for those areas. Did you know, every one of these areas also have a backup power plant that use gas or coal? These backup power plants are there to provide power when the weather isn’t cooperating (no sun shine, no wind).
Let’s see now, a coal or gas powered plant can provide electric all the time, and you only need one. The solar and wind plants rely on the weather, and you need a backup power plant.
Don’t get me wrong, I like solar and wind power but I don’t agree to replacing the fossil fuel plants.
If the idiot politicians want to start pushing a big change maybe they should begin requiring all homes and businesses be built underground. That would reduce the heating and cooling bills. All people would be required to live in an underground apartment provided by their employer. That way they would not need transportation to get to work. The employer could deduct the rent of the apartment from their check.
In this underground world there will be no personal transportation, they will have sub ways. The people who can use the subways are the police, and the delivery robots. Delivery robots bring anything you order to your apartment. In other words, you are not allowed to go anywhere unless it is an emergency or it has been approved by the government.
Think how good that would be. You walk out of your apartment into your work place, no commute time. You leave work and go into your apartment. A robot delivers anything you have ordered. You no longer need to go to a store and spend time shopping, you do that from a computer screen.
I think that is as good or even a better plan that any of the socialism plans that your politicians are presenting.
Keep those idiot politicians in office, they will take care of you!
They will take care of themselves and your money!
