October 30, 2024

We are one day away from, “the October event”, aka Halloween. In the olden days we use to hand out candy to the tricker treaters, and in the olden days there were many kids in our neighborhood ringing our door bell. As time passed and the kids grew up, we would still hand out candy but it got to a place where the doorbell would ring, and we would look at each other asking who was going to the door this time. We finally decided to shut the door, turn off the porch light, shut the blinds and not answer the door.

Oh, I should say, good morning to one and all.

Yesterday events well-defined; there were few events yesterday other than normal daily activities. I did at one point go out to the front yard and look for acorns. I raked another area and came up with very few acorns. I did find a few in the grass out near the street, these acorns were visible to the naked eye, and I used a roller to pick them up. Ther seems to be a lot of acorns still in the trees. The wind was, and is, blowing hard and that might bring some of them down.

Speaking of the wind, it blew over a couple flower pots last night. These pots were not blown over yesterday when we were sitting outside, but they were this morning. It would be nice if the wind would stop and the rain would start. We have low chances of rain for the next week, maybe we will start toward breaking the drought.

I need to get the Alex to school this morning, not sure if Gabi will be riding with us, and I need to go to the teller machine for the weekly stipend. Alex has a freshmen football game on Halloween, and it is an out-of-town game. The destination of the game is a long drive so we will not be going.

Well, I need to stop and get going, we hope you have a wonderful day and please stay safe in all you do.

Nothing doing.

Senior ole person who has things that he needs to do, but… Don the Ford

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
