Today is Labor Day and I assume there are many people who are staying home today (aka not working).
It was cool this morning when the Tres and I went for our walk. Since no one asked, I will enlighten you as to how cool it was, 67 degrees. I did go to the coffee place for a cup of coffee this morning, and I was surprised by two (2) things.
First, there was no traffic on Hewitt Drive! Do you have any idea how unusual that is? Heck, it was kind of like I was in the Twilight Zone! It truly seemed like I was in a dream.
Second there was a fellow walking along Hewitt drive and he had a coat on, it was cool but not that cool.
I stopped and got a burrito on the way home, and the lady at the window of the drive through commented on the lack of traffic on Hewitt drive.
Topic change: My wife of more than half a century is putting some fall decorations in the yard, and she has been looking for a couple pumpkins. I have looked through the shed a couple times and have not found them. I went back to the shed and this time I opened and looked in everything, even a large cooler we have. They are not there!
Yesterday: I got busy yesterday morning and trimmed around everything with the string trimmer, then I mowed the back 40. It looks better, even though there are a couple dead areas.
Later yesterday afternoon, my wife and I sat outside for a short happy hour, then it became happier as the rain started. I should note that the wind came first, then some cool temps, then the rain.
My favorite wife suggested that we could move to the front porch and finish our happy time there. The wind and the rain had covered the front porch, so we headed to the back patio. We enjoyed watching the rain, but it is difficult to hear each other when we were talking due to the rain hitting the metal roof. We received ¼ inch of rain.
Labor Day, aka not working, does not apply to retired people, we labor all the time! Why didn’t they name it Rest Day?
Labor Day, a Rest Day?
Senior ole person who needs some rest and a nap, Don the Ford
May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
