November 4, 2024

It is morning and the clouds are here but the morning light comes earlier now that the time has changed. I want to wish you a good morning even though mine has started out with a sting. Now the sting came from a wasp as I was pushing one of my favorite wife’s big flowers into the garage. I don’t know where he came from, but he did sting me on my neck. I think I will survive.

We have the prediction of rain starting about 10:00 this morning and slowing in the afternoon, then more rain in a more serious threat of storms starting about 5:00 this afternoon. Yep, the heavy rain and possible storms may arrive a little before time for me to head out to bible study. If the storms seem severe, I will stay at home.

Now what happened yesterday: we went to the Cracker store for breakfast yesterday and the place was packed. Now we did not need to wait to get a table, but most of the tables were taken. Food and services were good, shopping after eating not good, too many people in the store.

At checkout I was behind a young lady, she may have been 7 years old, she had two bags of candy in one hand and some paper money in the other hand. She had $8.00 and the price with tax came to $8.64. She laid the candy and money down and went looking for a parent to get more money. I pulled some change out of my pocket and gave the clerk 64 cents. The young lady came back with more money in her hand and the clerk pointed at me and said, “he paid the change for you”. The young lady looked at me very surprised, and said, “thank you”.

Yesterday afternoon I needed something to do so I decided to attempt to remove some more acorns from the front yard. We have had some light rain, and the wind had been blowing so I thought I might get several acorns. I have a photo of the acorns I have been able to remove.

While I was attempting to remove acorns a friend from down the street stopped and asked if I could put a new turn signal light bulb in for her, I said I would try. She pulled into the driveway and we raised the hood. My hand was too big to fit in between the battery and the lights. After a few minutes of trying our neighbor Steve came over and he tried. Steves hand was smaller than mine and he was able to get the bulb holder out but when he tried to put the new bulb in, he found that the holder was broken. The lady went back to the auto parts to see if they had a bulb holder, they did not. She will need to go to the dealer for the part.

We did sit outside for quite a while yesterday afternoon. The time change has messed up our schedules. Remember if you haven’t voted you will need to vote tomorrow. Speaking of tomorrow, I have to take the cat to the vet tomorrow and she is laying here on the desk watching me enter data into the ole computer.

Well, I will stop for now, we hope you have a good and safe day.

Vote tomorrow.

Senior ole person who is glad he has early voted, Don the Ford

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
