November 3, 2024

I hope it is a good morning for you, even though the time has changed. I woke up according to the day lite saving time, and I am sure it will take a week or more for me to adjust to the regular time. When Tres and I went out front this morning we noticed that it was lighter than we are use to. Enough about the time change let’s talk about something else.

Let’s see if anything happened yesterday. We did go into town for our usual lunch sandwich, and we did go to the Mexican store looking for some item that my wife needs in order to make tamales. We were able to get the corn shucks but not the masa. We then went to the cheap store, and we purchased a water pan for the Tres and a couple bottles of vanilla.

Back at home we relaxed for a while then I did my homework for Bible study. The homework completed I decided that I needed to get up and move around for a while, so I went outside and removed some acorns. I have a couple photos to present to you, showing how I have been removing the acorns and how difficult it is to see the acorns in the grass.

The first photo is of the roller and there is an acorn in front of the roller ready to be rolled in. The second photo is of grass, and I see about 5 acorns in the photo. Picking up the acorns gets me out of the ole recliner and keeps me moving, even though it is slow movement.

A friend stopped by and she brought some taco soup for me to try. We had been talking the other day about tamale soup that my favorite wife makes, and our friend noted that she makes taco soup. I had the soup for supper, and it was good, it was similar to chili in looks, but it had a different taste.

My wife called a Hispanic friend about the masa, and she suggested a location where we could get some in Waco.

We were getting ready to go outside when my favorite wife found that one of the drains on the kitchen sink was leaking. I had to get down on the floor and check things out. The plastic pipe that connected to the drain was loose. There was a plastic container that my favorite wife keeps cleaning supplies in, directly under the loose pipe. The container was about ¾ full of water.

I, having worked for a plumber in the olden days went right to work. It only took a few minutes to get everything out from under the sink, make sure everything was dry, put the pipe back into the drain and secure it in place. I took the plastic container with the cleaning supplies in it outside where I wipe them off with an ole towel and let them air dry while we were sitting outside.

During our time outside my favorite wife received a call from another Hispanic friend and I think they must have talked for about an hour. I find it interesting how and ole senior lady, aka my favorite wife, can remember names and things that have happened in years past and talk about them with another senior person, but goes in the house and can’t find her glasses. Long term memory verses short term memory.

Anyway, that is it for now, we hope you have a good day and if you can, be nice to someone. Oh, I almost forgot, also please be safe in all you do.

Acorn roller.

Senior ole person who would, if he could, but he can’t, Don the Ford

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
