November 8, 2024

The sun isn’t up yet but I am up and I want to wish “you and only you” a good morning. We got a few sprinkles yesterday and last night but nothing worth talking about. Today we have another cold front coming through with a very low possibility of storms. We want the rain not the storms.

My favorite wife and I went out for supper yesterday evening, evening is defined as 4:30 pm, going early we beat the crowd and get a good parking space. The food was good and the service was very good. We completed our meal and were on our way home by 5:20pm. Arriving at home we decided to sit outside for a while and discuss world problems, aka “kick back and take it easy”. The time change has affected our time outside in the early evening, as it gets dark too soon. We had enough time outside yesterday to enjoy one adult beverage before heading inside.

I did get the big flower pot moved and hopefully secured in place. I did pull some weeds from the back 40 and I also removed some Poopa-Loopa. Yes, these were difficult tasks but my ole senior body was able to withstand the work load.

If we don’t get some rain today, I will need to re-activate the lawn sprinklers. I think it is odd; the humidity is very high and we get just enough mist or sprinkles to keep the grass damp but that isn’t helping the cracks in the dirt, which needs the rain.

It was cloudy all day yesterday and the new flag light still stayed on all night, I guess it got some charging even though the sun was not shining on it.

Veterans day will be this Monday and Alex will be going with the ROTC to march in the parade in Waco Monday. He will miss several classes on Monday so I ask how he will make up the lost time and he said he can do the work on the tablet. Wow, things are a lot different from when I was a children. Also, the school orchestra will be having a Christmas program on Thursday, November 14, and Alex will be participating.

Well, I guess I should quit now and let my ole hands take a break from all this data entry, we hope you have a good day, stay safe in all you do, and have at least one positive thought today.

Fall may be here.

Senior ole person who transports grand kids to school, Don the Ford

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
