November 10, 2024

Good Sunday morning to all, we hope you have a wonder filled day as you enjoy, or ignore, my posting. Let me know if you want off the mailing list, I don’t present anything exciting.

Well, as one might know the Don and his favorite wife usually head into Waco on Saturday morning about 11:00am, to get a bite of lunch, and then stop by the cheap store to see if they can find any good deals. In order to meet that schedule, and we know that ole seniors must stay on schedule, the Don needed to get started early.

It was a very cool morning with the temp in the upper 50s. The Don wanted to remove the leaves from the front yard and before he could start on the removal he would need to get the debris out of the yard from the windy afternoon the day before.  The Don got his ole person stick picker up and a 5-gallon bucket and proceeded to the front yard. Now the Don has a short-sleeved shirt on and the temp in the 50s made him feel very uncomfortable as he picked up sticks from the yard. At one point he moved out of the shade of the trees and into the warm sun light which revived his ole body, aka warmed him up. The Don needed to empty the 5-gallon bucket twice during the stick picking up time.

Debris removed the Don headed to the shed and got the walk behind mower out. After checking the oil and adding gas he took the mower with the grass catcher attached to the front yard. the goal was to remove the leaves not mow the grass, but he soon noticed that the grass was a little taller than he thought, so he was doing both. It took a while but he was successful, and the yard appeared to have been manicured. The Don does good work!

Mower put away, leaves that were in the street were swept up, the Don proceeded to get his favorite wife and head out to Waco for lunch. They made it safely to the sandwich shop and had lunch then they headed to the cheap store where the only thing they bought was one pound summer sausage stick, and that was for the Dons enjoyment.

Back at home after a short rest period, the Don went outside and butchered (trimmed) some flowers in pots in prep of putting them in the hot house. There are now 8 flowers in the hot house even though we have not been predicted to have freezing weather. There are several other flowers that need to be moved, and with a few I will need help as they are very heavy. Basically, I can put most of the flower pots in the wagon and pull them to the hot house all by my ole self.

Different topic, we did sit outside yesterday afternoon with a friend, the weather was good but the new time change has shortened the time outside and soon the weather will make it even less time outside. The sun was down by 5:30 and it was dark at 6:00.

Today we will likely go to the cracker store for lunch, that way we don’t have to cook and clean up after. I might work on getting a couple more flowers into the hot house.

Well, I have taken up enough of your time, we hope you have a good day and be safe in all you do.

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
