November 27, 2024

We wish you a good morning and a happy good day! Wow, that was almost like a song, or was it.

Today is the day before, and everyone is trying to get ready, or traveling. My favorite wife goes to get groceries on Wednesday, but I don’t know if she will go today or not. I assume the stores will be filled with shoppers, and there will be no parking spaces. If she goes, I will offer to drive her, that way she can be dropped off at the door and I can park a mile away. When she finishes shopping, she can call me and I can pick her up at the door.

Ok, listen up, I have olden days stuff to report: my sister in Missouri sent me a text with a photo saying she has heard that they will be remodeling the old Juden School. Along with the text there is a photo of a group of kids that went to school there in 1942. Two of those kids were my sisters Wilda Ford and Shirley Ford and one of my brothers Carl Ford.

This school has a one room basement and a single room above the basement. I went to school there in 1957 / 1958. The basement had 1st through 4th grades, and the upstairs had 5th through 8th grades. One teacher for 4 grades. The toilets were outhouses out back of the school. When I went to school there our teacher’s name was, “Mr. Hurt”. He was also a preacher. The photo was taken on the side of the school near the back, and I believe you can see the outhouse on the right side of the photo. The school got its name from the creek that was across the road in front of the school, Juden Creek.     Lots of ole memories!

Today I have no big plans, I need to go to the teller machine and get our weekly stipend. I guess that is all I need to say for now, so please have a safe day and be nice to others.

Two room school.

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
