The calm before the irritation 11.03.17

It was a Friday morning, about 7:30am, when the Tres and I ventured outside. The first thing we noticed was how humid the air was and how still everything seemed to be. There was almost total silence as we stood there on the drive way waiting for The Gabi to arrive. This is the Calm. I looked up and down the street, and then up at the sky. Gray clouds were all we could see, although the clouds were starting to brighten up, as sun rise was occurring.

Out of the almost total silence, Tres and I heard a single Crow calling out, as he flew over. That reminded me of the olden days when I would go Deer hunting. There was an almost total silence as one would sit in the deer stand waiting for the sun rise and the possibility that a deer might walk in front of your stand.

The joy of the crow calling was soon brought to a halt, when one of the neighbor’s dogs began barking. At least it wasn’t Tres this time.

Gaby and her mother arrived, we conversed for a few moments then Gabi and I headed for the truck. Gabi got in and called to Tres. I didn’t have to argue with him this time, he just jumped in!

The drive to school was uneventful, Gabi and participated in our usual morning discussions, as we drove through the heavy school traffic. We were in line at the drop off door, the vehicles in front would drop off a kid or two, and then move on. We were behind an SUV, with a female person at the wheel. Gabi dismounted the Ford’s Chevy at about the same time the kid from the SUV dismounted.

The doors were shut and Tres and I were ready to move on. This is where the irritation starts. It took the female subject almost 45 seconds to begin moving. What was she doing, adjusting her clothing, possibly putting on makeup or worse, she may have been texting which is illegal in a school zone. Whatever her reason was, she did not give a darn about the vehicles lined up behind us, ready to drop their children off.

Had there have been a male driver he would have at least pulled away from the drop area before he began to put on his makeup, or adjust his clothes. If he were texting he would have done it while he was driving, either way he would not have held up the traffic behind him!

May you not be delayed by others!
