            Good morning from us to you, we hope your day gets off to a good start, and it is not Friday the 13th, it is Thursday the 13^th.

            I have no plans for today, so what did I / we do yesterday. I did get the hair on my ole head cut yesterday, and the stylists did a good job removing the hair. After the removal of ole hair I did go to the star coffee place to get a cup, and this time, they actually had hot coffee. often when I get a cup it is not hot, sometimes it is just slightly warm. Yep, I have warmed the cup in the microwave when I get home. After I get a warm cup the next time, I go I tell them about the slightly warm coffee, and I get a free cup to replace the previously warm cup.

            After getting the cup of hot coffee I headed to the cleaners to pick up some clothes. Arriving at the cleaners, the drive through was full so I drove on to the parking lot across the street. When the drive through cleared I tried to head across the street but there was traffic. I waited for a few vehicles to pass and the last vehicle coming up the street was an SUV, and it was moving very slow. Finally, it got to where I was, and it started to turn in. I said to myself, the driver doesn’t know how to use a turn signal. The driver was a female driver, and she had her cell phone in front of her face either face timing someone or texting someone as she was driving. I did get my clothes and head for home.

            Later in the day I decide to help a neighbor by removing a few limbs from her front yard. there was three large limbs and a bunch of small limbs. Since I plan to take the limbs on my trailer to the dump this Saturday, I thought I could get the large limbs out of her yard and put them on the trailer, but I did not attempt to get the small limbs. I don’t know if she even noticed that the limbs were missing. I hope to tell her it was me that removed them.

            I was able to hang the last of my scrap wood bird houses in a tree in the back 40 and I have a photo.

            The house closest is the last of the scrap wood houses, the one on the other side of the tree has been there for a few years, yep, they are both scrap wood.

            We had decided to wash the dog since the weather was very warm, but first we needed to drive into Waco really quick. Returning home the sky was filled with clouds so we quickly washed the dog hoping to get him washed and partly dried off before any storms might arrive. Dog washed; we were going to sit outside for a while, but it was sprinkling rain. We decided to sit on the front porch as we assumed it would rain, it did not rain. The wind did stop, it was unusually quiet for maybe 30 minutes, then the wind came back like crazy, but the storms had passed, and the sky was clearing.

            A little before 6:00 we headed into the house where my favorite wife made a quick supper and where I remembered I had left my saw that I had used to cut the tree limbs on the trailer. I did go and get the saw and put it away. 

            I did read from both bibles yesterday, and I even did some bible study homework even though we are on spring break.

            Good morning to you and that other person too. Did you ever wonder if there is another person?

            Let’s see what happened on Tuesday; my favorite wife went to her doctor for a checkup, then we decided to go into Waco to the sandwich shop for a quick lunch. When we entered the door of the sandwich shop, she asked, “where were you Saturday?” We explained that we had a birthday lunch for our grandson to go to Saturday. After eating our lunch, we did go to the cheap store as I wanted to get some bird seed.

            Back at home I was able to distribute the bird seed to a couple feeders one of which is the outhouse. About an hour or so later the birds had learned that there was bird seed available, and they came from everywhere for supper. I have a photo that I took through the kitchen window, but my favorite wife had let Tres out the back door just as I was getting ready to take the photo, and a large number of birds flew away.

            I guess it was a good thing that I had also put water in the bird bath as they were probably thirsty after eating. Now a couple birds would get on the outhouse and as they were eating, they knocked seeds down to the ground and the other birds were eating at ground level. The squirrels usually eat the bird food, but I did not see any yesterday.

            My favorite wife and I did venture out of the house to the ole swing which is next to the driveway at about 4:30 yesterday. The weather was excellent with the sun shining on us, we enjoyed the quiet afternoon. Now I am sure you know we provide residences along with food and water for some of our friends. Residents in the situation may be defined as bird houses. I have a photo of one of our friends at her house.

            It is a cool good morning here in Hewitt. We hope everyone has a good day.

            My favorite wife gets to go to the doctor this morning and we might go into Waco to do some shopping after the visit.

            Yesterday was a very nice day weather wise, we did sit outside for about an hour and a half enjoying the quiet neighborhood and warm weather. I have a photo of the moon taken while the sun was still up, which I took as we sat outside yesterday.

It is supposed to get into the upper 80s this week and if so, the pot hound Tres will get a wash job.

            Earlier in the afternoon I did proceed to the front porch and while enjoying the nice weather I also read from the Chronological bible. For anyone who has one of these bibles you understand how they present the information, and for anyone who don’t have one I will attempt to explain a little.

            I have been reading from the New Testament in the chronological bible, and in the normal bible you have Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John as the first four books. So, one would read Matthew first and then Mark and so on. In the chronological bible they present subjects from any of the books if they happened at the same point in time and was the same subject.

I have an example, “The Leper being Cleansed”, first they presented information from Matthew 8:2-4, then Mark 1:40-45, then Luke 5:12-16. For me, reading these passages one after the other and having them identified by book and verse helped me to understand better. Yes, it is at times going over basically the same information more than once, and that helps me to better understand.

This bible may not be for everyone, and it don’t take the place of my regular bible, but it is interesting to me, and I have just got started with it.

No real plans for today, it is still spring break, and I am taking my break seriously. We hope you have a good spring break and as always stay safe in all you do.

            It is a good morning and hopefully a rest filled week now that spring break is here.

            Sunday’s event; we had breakfast and I rested throughout the day. I did read from the bible and also from my new chronological bible, which I will talk about at a later date, after I have read more from it. 

            Sunday was a rest filled day for me. That is all I have to say, we hope you have a good and rest filled day, while you are being safe in all you do.

Good morning to all, it is Sunday again and I hope we all have a good morning and a good day.

Let’s review yesterday quickly; We met Alex and the family at a restaurant for Alex’s birthday lunch. He got one card with some money from his parents, we had given him his present a couple days before his birthday, he is now 15 years old. The food was good, and the service was good. It was sprinkling when we arrived at the restaurant, but it had ended before we left. Arriving back at home the Alex fertilized the front yard and part of the back 40.  

He got the ladder from the shed and decided where to set it so he could cut a couple small limbs that were holding the broken limb. Alex had never used a long fiberglass pole-saw before, and it took some time for him to get use to the extreme length (18 foot). He got the broken limb down and several other limbs and we were able to get them placed on the ole trailer. Photo to follow.

            After all the work (about 2 hours) we headed for Alex’ house, but we stopped at the dollar store on the way home to get a couple batteries for the Tres’ shock collar. The collar keeps him in control when he has it on and we don’t need to shock him we just push the button that makes the collar have a high-pitched sound, that gets his attention, and he knows if he doesn’t listen, he could be shocked.

Leaving the dollar store we did stop at the coffee shop where we both got a cup, mine was coffee and his was a drink of some kind. We dropped him off at home and returned to our house.

A note from Friday: a neighbor girl who might be 10 or 11 years old came over and she was afraid of Tres. I got some treats and gave them to her and told her to tell him to sit. He sat down and she tossed him the treat. Then I told her to tell him to lay down and he did, so she gave him a couple more treats, she was able to pet him and now she isn’t afraid of Tres, and he likes her. She went out into our back 40 so I followed her at a distance, she said our back yard is nicer than her grandparents back yard, theirs has dog Poopa-Loopa in it. She saw something and asked what is an outhouse. Photo to follow.

            I said you don’t know what an outhouse is, and she said no. I showed her that this outhouse was a bird feeder, and I showed her how to open the top to put feed in it. Kids now days don’t know what an ole time outhouse was.

            We made it to Saturday again and I am wondering where the rain is. We were supposed to have started receiving rain last night about mid night and ending this morning some time. As I see it, we did not get any rain. Oh, did I wish you a good morning, well allow me to say good morning to all.

            Allow me to quickly lists the things I did yesterday. I went to a store to get 2 air filters for the furnace, I was surprised the displayed price was not the actual price, I got them for about half off. Back at home I went out back to consider cutting a limb out of the tree and realized that I needed to water the flowers in the hot house. Hot house plants watered I also watered the black berry beds. Then I water the flower beds, was I attempting to avoid the tree limb trimming? Bird bath filled with water I then headed to the shed to get the ladder and pole saw.

            Several items were removed from the shed so I could get to the ladder and then I decided to get the weed killer out and spray some weeds along the fence. That completed I then decided that since it was not windy, I would spray the weeds in the ditch, was I trying to avoid the limb removal, or was I just being distracted by easier work. I sprayed an area in the ditch which is about 6 feet wide from the fence into the ditch.

            Nothing else to distract me, (I do have a problem where I start one thing and do several other things) I started to cut the limb from the tree by positioning the ladder in a place where I could reach the limb with the pole saw and also be out of the way when it falls. This is a manual pole saw about 18 feet long when extended fully. Have you ever tried to work with a pole saw that is 18 feet long, it is difficult to handle.

            I started the sawing process by climbing on the ladder, only two steps up the ladder and after about one minute I rested. Understand that I am pushing and pulling the pole saw handle above my head and that is difficult and tiring for an ole senior person. It probably took about 15 minutes to cut the limb as I would pause and rest quiet often. In the olden days when I was a real person it would have taken 2 or 3 minutes to remove the limb.

            I did get the limb down and then I started the process of cutting it into small pieces, each 10 inches or less. I cut these into small pieces so they will easily fill the bottom of the trash can. Long pieces take up more room in a trash can.              That completed I put things away. It was then happy time and I was too tired to do anything other than sit down and have a beverage. My favorite wife and I along with a friend sat outside and talked about being old and tired. A bunch of the topics were about doctors and medical conditions. I was able later to wash my ole body and get into the Fords ole bed.

            Today we plan to have lunch with Alex and his family celebrating his 15^th birthday. Then if the weather is good, I will have him here at the ford house to do some yard work and tree limb removal this afternoon.

            It seems as if we are starting a good morning and possibly a very warm day in the 80s. I do not need to take the kids to school this morning as their parents are taking the day off. Next week is spring break for the kids, so, I will have a week of vacation?

            Yesterday was a long, and do very little day. we did go into town for a short time, I want to purchase a chronological bible. I did get one and I would have liked the large print version but did not find one. it will take a while to get use to the chronological bible and I will not be giving up my regular bible. Since I am on the subject of bibles, when I do my homework for bible study, I use the bible app on the cellphone as it small, and easy to get from one book, chapter and verse to another.

            We are supposed to have lunch with Alex and family tomorrow to celebrate his birthday, and I plan to bring him to our house after the lunch to get him to do some yard work. Yes, he and I have already discussed the work and he has agreed. Looking at the back 40, there are lot of winter grass, aka weeds and the mowing process will start soon.

            Today I need to go to the store and get air filters, of the correct size, for the furnace. We did sit outside yesterday for a while, it was a little cool and breezy, today it is said to be 82 degrees this afternoon and the outside sitting should be much more enjoyable. Good weather usually brings a friend or two at happy time.

            Since I have nothing to do, I guess I will stop writing and get onto my ole recliner and act as if I am watching the so-called news. We hope you have a good day and please stay safe in all you do.

            Good morning to all, it is a cool good morning but it should get warm as the day proceeds.

            I went to the dentist yesterday and my ole mouth was num for over 3 hours, so no lunch for this senior person. Later in the morning I did go to the store and purchased some fertilizer for the front yard along with some air filters. Now I had a note in my pocket showing the size I needed. You guessed it, I bought the wrong size.

Back at the home stead, I went to the front yard and removed small limbs due to the winds on Tuesday. The removal of said limbs took a while and I believe some of the limbs were from the neighbor’s tree. I broke the limbs into small pieces and filled a 5-gallon bucket which I dumped, and then finished the removal process. Our neighbor has a big broken limb in the tree and it is over the end of her driveway and part of the street.

Speaking of limbs, I have a broken limb in the back 40 and I need to get it down. I think we can use the long handle manual pole saw. I am considering having Alex do the work as long as I can be sure he does it safe. I just thought, they are having a birthday lunch for Alex this Saturday so no Alex and I may need to do the work myself.

I did also remove the limbs from the back 40 and there was a lot more downed limbs and also bigger limbs than in the front yard. I did use the hand saw to reduce the size of a few limbs. All in all, a couple hours of yard work for an ole senior person.

We did have supper out yesterday afternoon and upon returning to the homestead we sat outside for a while enjoying the quiet neighborhood.
