            Good morning to you and also to others, we hope your morning is starting off well, and the day is one of your best days.

            What did the Don get to do yesterday? He was allowed to pick up sticks from the front yard and the back 40, and it took a while as there were plenty out back. I still need to load the large limbs on the ole trailer and that means more work for and ole senior person. The weather is getting better so I might be able to work outside for a little while today. Now both the front and back yards need to be mowed, and I don’t know if I will wait for Saturday, and our yard man Alex, or if I will need to do the work myself.

I noticed that the ditch is again grown weeds so I will need to get the weed killer out and do some spraying. I had talked with one of the fellows at the city about the weeds in the ditch and he more or less indicated that they would be spraying the weeds, but I have not seen them in the ditch at all.

            I did ride the Fords new trike for a short trip around the neighborhood and I peddled a big part of the way. Now that peddling, is with peddle assist which means, I provide about half the power and the peddle assist provides the other half. As you can see, one can get some exercise without overexerting himself. Before you ask, yes you can peddle without the assist and you get more exercise, or you can use the throttle and let the motor do all the work. 

            I did remove some spider webs from the security cameras, actually there are two that usually get the webs and there are just a few webs, but they show up during the nighttime. 

            I did get some fire ant killer, and I opened it in the office. I did not spill any, but it stinks. I then took the killer to the garage and the office still stinks. I sprayed some room spray, and it helped a little, but I can still smell the fire ant killer.

            I went to the Bible study yesterday evening and as usual, we had some very interesting discussions even though our normal group leader was not there. We have a couple more meetings before spring break.

            I have a couple photos for my enjoyment. The first is of the trees and that they are all with leaves or starting to get the leaves, even the pecan tree, and a very blue sky from yesterday afternoon. The second photo is of a rose which is starting to bloom.

            Wow, it is a cold good morning this Monday. Temp is at 34 degrees right now, and I have to go out in the cold to take Alex to school. I have already put all my sweat shirts and jackets away so I might freeze this morning when I leave the homestead.

            Yesterday was an odd day for us here at the homestead, we decided to go to the cracker store for breakfast and for some reason we went very early, aka 8:30am. We were back home by 9:30 and the rest of the day we were completely wacky, aka nothing close to our usual schedules. I think in the future if we go for breakfast, we will go much later which helps us seem to be on a schedule.

            It was too cold and windy to sit outside yesterday so that also kind of made the day boring.

            Now I should say that later in the day we were surprised by a neighbor and good friend who brought us a rum cake which his wife made and a gift bag for our anniversary. Now the gift bag was nice but the rum cake is excellent. I eat a piece of the cake and a few minutes later I want another piece. It is nice to have good neighbors and especially nice when they are also good friends.

            I have another bunch of small limbs covering the back 40 and some in the front yard. Both the front ah back yards need to be mowed, but nothing can be done until I get those limbs up. Maybe it will be warm enough for an ole senior person to go outside and pick up limbs.

Well, I guess I should start getting ready to get Alex and take him to school. We hope you have a good day and please stay safe in all you do.

            It is a cool 41 degrees here in Hewitt this morning, and that being the case, it is still a good morning. Yep, I heard what that one person just said, did you hear him? Well, he said, “how do I know it is a good morning”? I will tell you how I know, I was able to get up and start this day, that means, it is a good morning! Wow, what a way for me to start this posting.

            Let us see if anything happened yesterday: well, it rained yesterday and our ole paid for rain gage indicated a little less than ½ inch. The total rain for the last few days here in Hewitt is one inch of rain.

            My favorite wife and I did go out for a nice lunch yesterday celebrating our 56 years anniversary. Thanks for the wishes of a happy anniversary.

            We did go to the cheap store and my favorite wife did purchase a couple battery powered candles, then we headed for home where we had a calm and boring afternoon. It was too cool and windy to be outside so we took naps and watched the TV, which had nothing worth seeing. I don’t like basketball, golf, or any of the sporting events. I did watch the three stooges and they were almost interesting, even though they throw pie in everyone’s face.

            I have a few more limbs down in the back 40 but I will try and wait until the wind has resided before attempting the removal. 

            Today: we just returned from having breakfast at the cracker store. We went early and there were very few people there. Our server, a female person, said she had been there 1.5 hours and we were her second customer. Later, when we had finished eating several people were arriving. Food done, we returned to home and I came back to the ole computer to work on this posting.

            As I set here looking at one of the monitors, I see a squirrel on the top of the swing set. I can only see the end of the swing set from this monitor so I don’t know why the squirrel is up there. I don’t know if it is one squirrel or if there are different squirrels getting up there.

            Plans for today, stay inside out of the cold weather. We hope you have a good and warm day, and that everyone stays safe in all we do.

            It is Saturday again and we want to wish all a good morning and a fine day. We did get some rain yesterday and it was cooler, it is raining this morning, but the storms seemed to have missed us.

            Today’s events: My favorite wife and I plan to go out for a nice lunch at a real restaurant today, since we have a gift card that we received at Christmas and have not yet used. I have a photo of my favorite wife on the new trike, she was in the back 40.

             I did very little yesterday other than take some clothes to the cleaners, get gas in the Ford’s ole Chevy and get a cup of coffee. Back at home I was all alone as my favorite wife of 56 years had left me and went into town shopping, so I had to develop my own lunch. I had some raw cabbage with a little salt on it, then I had a piece of cheesecake with cherries on it. I know, that don’t sound like a good lunch, but it worked.

            Later, as I was sitting in the Ford’s ole recliner, I observed Tres laying on the couch with his head on a pillow. I think he was comfortable.

            I looked out into the back 40 and saw another limb down on the ground. The tree has some dead limbs among the live limbs. You will see in the photo some of what I pick up from the back 40 and there are always small branches to be picked up especially with the winds we have been having.

            My favorite wife got a very nice bouquet of flowers yesterday and I have a photo. The flowers were sent in celebration of our 56-wedding anniversary that occurs today. Yep, April 5, 1969, we got married, and she has put up with me all that time.

            I attached a photo of the flowers; they made my favorite wife happy.

            After lunch today we plan to go by the cheap store again as my wife wants to get a couple battery powered candles and she said they are much cheaper there. We also have a 20% off one item coupon.

            Well, I guess that is about all I have for today, we hope you have a very nice day and be safe in all you do.

            Good morning from the Fords of Hewitt Tx. We hope your day is starting off in a positive manner, we are getting some lite rain this morning. 

            Let’s see if there were any events yesterday; I did get the Alex to school on time and safely. Later in the morning my favorite wife had a doctor’s appointment. We left the house a little early and headed to the bank teller machine where we got our weekly stipend. Then we headed to the Star coffee place so I could get a cup before heading to the doctor. The Star coffee place had cars in the drive through, all around the building so I drove on by. It was too early to head to the doctor, so I headed to another Star coffee place where I did get a cup of coffee. Now, we were headed to the doctor’s office a little early. My favorite wife said if we got there early, she might get in early.

            We did make it early and I sat in the waiting room as she did the mammogram. I should note; they had a coffee machine in the waiting room, free coffee, but I already had a paid for cup. She did get in early and when she came out, we headed for the Ford’s ole truck. When we got into the truck, I noticed that it was two minutes before her appointment time. Yes, she got in and out before her appointment time.

            Happy with those results we headed into Waco for a lunch sandwich. The sandwich and fries were good, then we headed to the cheap store. I thought they might have some fire ant killer, but they did not, I did purchase another clock with the president’s face on it.

            Back at home I did ride the new trike up and down the street a couple times and I did my bible study homework. All that completed I did take a break for a few minutes, aka nap, and then I went outside where I moved a big flowerpot from the back 40 to the front yard. This pot had fire ants in it when we brought it out of the shed, so I had sprayed it with bug spray a couple times and the ants seem to be gone, so I took it to the front yard and placed it near the sidewalk.

            That completed I did get the hose out and water the berry beds and the flowers in the back 40 then I went to the front yard and watered the flowers. I do have a photo of some blooms.

            Different subject: I received a photo of a tornado that happened in Missouri this week, so I thought I would post it. This was in Delta Missouri, and it was heading toward Cape.

            My favorite wife and I did sit outside yesterday afternoon and there was an unusual event, a street sweeper came down our street. Now the neighbor across the street had swept the leaves and debris off the street in front of his house the day before, we got ours removed free yesterday and no work involved, photo of our curb to follow.

            Our curb is as clean as the neighbors, and he did all the work.

            Different topic: when we were at the cheap store I purchased another clock with the president’s face on it. When our neighbors from down the street was driving by, I flagged them down and presented them with a clock. Our neighbor’s wife seemed to like the clock, not sure about her husband.

            I have another photo which shows the pollen that has been in the air the last few days. The yellow on the cement driveway is the pollen that was washed off the top of the car port.

            Wow, it seems as it we had several things happen yesterday. I will stop for now, we hope you have a good day and we want everyone to stay safe in all we do.

            We think it is another good morning, but that may depend on where you are. We learned yesterday that a tornado had hit part of the town we use to live in back in Missouri. We pray that everyone stays safe through the day.

            Our big plans for today are to get Alex to school on time and to take my favorite wife to the doctor for her mammogram. We will go to the same building that I went to yesterday but on a different floor. The doctor that I saw yesterday said I get hoarse do to the fact that I am getting old. Wow, what an evaluation, I am getting old. 

            We did very little yesterday after returning home from the doctor. I did do some of the homework for bible study and later in the afternoon we did sit outside with a couple neighbors and enjoyed the nice weather. Those neighbors did have a nice tree removed from their yard and it looks bare now, that said, they might plant another tree near the location of the previous tree. Why did they get rid of the previous tree, they did not like to clean up the leaves and acorns that would fall from the tree.

            I guess I should get going so I will say have a good day and be safe in all you do.

            Good morning to all, we hope your day is starting off well. I need to get started early today as I will be going to the doctor this morning after dropping Alex off at school.

            Let’s see if there was anything interesting from yesterday. I can’t think of anything interesting; the neighbor had his tree cut down from his front yard, I did get to talk with another neighbor who has stage 4 cancer. He has already lived 2 months past the date that the doctor had given him to live, and he is doing pretty good. We keep him in our prayers, and he keeps us in his prayers.

            I was at my desk reading from the Bible when Molly, our cat, decided to get on the desk. After some walking around and getting petted, she decided to lay down and take it easy, photo to follow.

We now have a new bike or should I say trike, I do have a photo.

            Now you know what was in the big ole box that was shown in a previous posting. As you can see it has big fat tires, it does have a headlight and a taillight, you can pedal it, or you can just use the electric motor to ride around on. I think they said it could go 20 mph, but the fastest I have been able to make it go was 15 mph. It is much easier to ride on the street than in the yard. I did ride the trike up and down the street several times yesterday trying to get use to it.

            Other than the doctor’s visit I do not have any big plans for today.

            Where did they come up with April Fool’s Day? In years past I remember attempting to fool others with some type of joke, it usually did not work. Now, being an ole person, I guess I am the joke, but at least I am something. Allow me to wish you a good morning and a happy April first day.

            Yesterday was a day off from doing much of anything. I did my bible study homework, and I did a little housework like vacuuming, and that is about it. Today I am back on schedule, you know, get Alex and take him to school then sit around and do very little. The weather is supposed to be getting stormy later this week and we should get some needed rain.

            Different subject: on the so-called news programs on TV, they occasionally interview someone who has supposedly done something interesting. If you take the time to pay attention you will likely understand that the interview was a commercial. They interview this person and whatever it is they have accomplished, usually turns out to be a book they have written or a business they have established. Now I think it is good that people start businesses and write books, but the commercials should be out right commercials and interviews should not turn into commercials. I see and hear enough commercials every day.

            Different subject: Our Moon Plant was recently moved from the hothouse to its outside resting place. Now this plant does not bloom often, and it blooms at night. Well, I guess it likes the outside resting place, because it bloomed. I have a photo showing you a closeup of the bloom.

Well, I need to get started to get Alex so I will say have a good day and be safe in all you do.
