Federal debit / credit card 07.11.2020

I have again written about the future of Government Debit / Credit cards and the elimination of money. I have decided that subject is too harsh, for “You,” the normal reading public, so I have a different topic, which came to me as I watched an ole time movie.

As I sat there coffee in hand, the TV was presenting an ole movie possibly from the 40s or 50s. The story is about this honest thief who reportedly has killed people, yet he is considered as a good guy. This honest thief would steal from the rich and give to the poor. Now if you have been listening to what you are reading, you might know which character this is about, he was a Hood, his last name was Hood. Does that make him a hoodlum?

As I watched this story unfold, there was a part where they were having a shooting contest. Now for that one person who is not as bright as the rest of us, the shooting contest was with bows and arrows. They are all shooting until it came down to the last two contestants. The first guy shoots and hits dead center of the target. Then the honest thief shoots and he splits he arrow of the first shooter. Everyone was cheering and the honest thief was said to be the winner. The honest thief was given the Golden Arrow as a prize.

It came to me, as I sat there considering the situation, there was no winner! It was a tie, the first shooter hit dead center and the second shooter split the arrow of the first shooter also hitting dead center! They should have been required to continue shooting until one of them legitimately won.

You are right, I am a very observant person!

We hope your weekend is safe and enjoyable!

Senior observer and one time good guy, Don the Ford

You can stop reading now, the following is about Government takeover, and you don’t need to read this.

With all the new, mostly annoying situations caused by the virus, I have again rekindled my belief that, “Money is going out of existence”. I am sure that at least one of the reading public, of which you participate in, is wondering why the Ford got back on this subject.

Allow me to expound on this subject. I was allowed to venture out of the Homestead the other day as I needed a $3.00 part for my air compressor. I went to the Harbor store and procured the needed item. As I stood there in line at a social distance from others, the store clerk was telling the two subjects at the checkout station how long the virus could live on paper money and coins. She went on to explain that most people are using the plastic credit cards, but she didn’t say how long the virus could live on the plastic. I paid with paper money but that conversation got me to thinking.

Everywhere you turn businesses are wanting us to order on line, they want people to work from home, and rather than seeing family and friends in person, we are expected to do it via a computer or smartphone. Almost every business would rather we use a credit card and not use paper money. Look at all the stores that are trying to get customers to check themselves out rather them having an employee do it.

In the near future the government will go to a debit / credit system. People will be issued a card with their name, photo and an 18 digit number on it, the card will have an ID chip, and it will replace money. If you work, or receive income from any source, the funds will be entered into the government’s computer system. At that point you can use your card to purchase items you need.

A neat part to this government debit card is, they know how much you earned, and they will deduct the taxes from your earnings. You will not need to file any income tax, as they have already taken their share.

After about 3 years with this system, people will have the opportunity to not carry the card, they can have the chip implanted in their hand or forehead. Another neat part to this chip, it will become the only identification that you will need. Did I say, all newborn will have the chip implanted at birth?

Now I see that someone has a question, what if I don’t want the card or the chip. You don’t have to take it, but you cannot buy, sell, or work without the chip. Kids can’t go to school without the chip. You can’t go to the doctor, you can’t drive a vehicle, and you can’t have a smart phone without the chip!

6 + 6+ 6= 18 digits for the ID chip. Where they insert the chip on your hand or forehead, it does leave a mark. The Government computer is a beast of a machine.

Wow, something sounds familiar about all this. It seems as if I have read something about 6 6 6, and a Beast!

            Are you ready?

Sun glasses indoors 07.10.2020

I am sitting here in front of this lap top computer with my sun glasses on. If you haven’t guessed, I went to the eye doctor and my eyes are dilated. Everything is very bright so I have the sun glasses on. It is much darker in the front room, so I will go in there in a short while, it may be nap time, you know us senior persons need our naps.

I have brought my new scrap computer stand into the office. I have photos of the scrap stand on the desk.

If I wasn’t a retired ole person on a fixed income, I could afford nice devices to set my Government sponsored computer on, like you real people have. You may click to enjoy

As you may be able to see, the scrap stand works well with a Government sponsered computer. What? You want to know what! I have a professional quality photo of the scrap stand with the lap top on it and you what to know who that is on the TV. Why do I even try!

If I can calm down a little, I will attempt to show you a photo of the Tres. In the photo, one will see only the head of a 90 pound pot hound. We were attempting to straighten the covers up on the bed when he decided to get involved. I tossed the extra pillows onto the Tres and he didn’t mind. Click to see my wonderful photography.

Tres likes to be around his humans.

I would like to follow up with another photo which is of me as I am usually seen here at the Ford Homestead. Would you believe I always wear a mask, even inside the homestead? I would not believe it either. That is about as close to a smile as you will get from a senior retired person, on a fixed income, who is not allowed to go to town.

Do what you must, to stay safe!

Senior retired person with only scraps to work with, Don the Ford

Duplex 07.09.2020

It was one of those mornings, you know, the sun was shining, the humidity was high, not a sign of a breeze and you wished you were still in the house with the air conditioner cooling your wonderful body. In reality, you are outside looking at your scrap wood project wishing you could finish it, but you know the humidity would make the paint dry too slow, so you stand there considering what to do.

As you look around you notice two small birds, they look somewhat like sparrows, but they are just a bit smaller. They are checking out the duplex bird house that is sitting on the table next to the swing. You had taken the duplex house down a week ago, as there were no birds living in it. You had long ago decided that putting bird residences close to one another was not a good idea, as you now believe that when the residences are too close, one bird will dominate and keep other birds away from their territory.

Seeing the two birds going in and out of this residence, causes you to think, if they build a nest there the cats will get them. What can you do? The house needs to be moved but where to. You have several houses strategically located around the property, and you do not want to get this residence too close to another.

At this point you take a walk around the property where you find a shepherds hook with nothing on it. After careful consideration you decide to locate the duplex residence on the shepherds hook. It will be about 5 feet above the ground, and the cats can’t get to it.

As you walk away from the duplex residence you wonder, will those two young love birds be able to fine the duplex at the new location, it is only 50 feet away.

The motivation of this story is, be nice all the time, and the world just might be nice to you!

Topic change:

Something caught my eye yesterday, it could have been one of two things, but I believe it was both. As I sat there on the fords ole rocker, cold drink on the table next to me, I observed a male and female subject walking on Arkansas Street, in our direction. The male subject had his shirt out of his pants, which is more normal now days then in the past. I noticed a bulge under his shirt and I knew he was carrying. The female subject had a bright red short dress on. The color of the dress, and the fact he was carrying, drew my attention. They turned and walked down our street, and after a short while they walked back up the street. As they passed our Homestead I could see the bottom of the holster protruding from under the male subject’s shirt. I could also see the bright red short dress.

My question is, which drew most of my attention, the gun carrying male subject, or the bright red short dress

Well I guess that is it for now I need to get a cup of coffee and get out into the Ford’s ole garage before it gets too hot.

Stay safe, stay happy, and be nice!

What was it 07.08.2020

I will get into the title line in a moment, but first let me provide info about me. Nothing could be better than reading about an ole senior person named Donald, and no, I am not that Donald who is running for president.

It rained yesterday (Tuesday) with a total here at the homestead of 1.25 inch. That rain was much appreciated, even though I had the sprinkler system watering the yard on Monday. I normally mow on Tuesday, but with the rain I have been forced to wait and mow today (Wednesday). Neighbors often mow on Wednesdays, and now I will likely be considered as one of the normal people. Normal, who wants to be normal?

               Let’s change to the title line, what was it;

Our neighbor and his family are out of town for a couple weeks, so I keep an eye on their home. I check the doors and windows each morning and this morning I also put their recycle cart out to the curb side. As I was checking their house, I noticed the moon was still up. There were some light cloud cover so I decided to get a photo. As usual I took two photos in case one was blurry. When I loaded the photos to the computer, I noticed something in the second photo that was not in the first. Click to enhance.

What was it, well it is a UFO. I assume it was not a space ship, likely an odd shaped bird, or a bird that was flying very fast. Wow, I have my first photo of a UFO. You say it’s not a UFO! It is unidentified, it was flying, and it is an object, so it is a UFO.

Do you think it was the virus flying over?

Get off my case, ole people can have fun with odd photographs!

Have a safe day, mask up!

Human Vet 07.07.2020

The title line is not totally clear, so I will enlighten. I went to the Human Veterinarian today for my physical. The human vet is a doctor, just as an animal vet is a doctor?

Staying at home has not increased my weight, same as last time. The doctor is a lady and I actually like her. She is short, and she wears her hair in a way that I, as an old person, I see as not neat, but that is her not me. She suggested that I exercise more.

Now I have an appointment with the eye doctor this Friday, they usually dilate my eyes when I see him, and I do not like that.

Subject change, today is Tuesday and I usually mow on Tuesday. It has rained a couple times today, so I will postpone the outing till tomorrow. The front is so tall that I will need to mow it twice not just to make it look good but to mulch up the clippings.

Our neighbor is out of town and I will mow his front yard probably twice while they are gone. I plan on edging his front yard similar to what I do to my yard. He doesn’t edge as thoroughly as I do, so we will see if he notices the difference.

I need to do some touch-up painting on the computer stands (I have made two of them, I don’t know why) I will add a photo or two for your pleasure. Yes they are adjustable.

When they are good and dry I will get a photo of one with the computer on it. I also need some small rubber pads to put on the bottom to keep them from sliding on the desk. Bids start at $125.00 for the stands.

It is lunch time for me so I need to get away from this desk and feed my face!

May you have a wonder filled day!

Not just me 07.06.2020

If you had read the email I sent late yesterday afternoon, you would have known that I had forgot to send an email after I posted to the blog yesterday. I noted that I was forgetful and occasionally did not know what day it was. I am not the only senior who may be forgetful

A senior person, I do not want to name said senior, and I am not going to say he lives across the street from me. He mowed his yard on Wednesday, I should say he started mowing his yard on Wednesday and his wife took over mowing, so he could do the trimming. Saturday this same senior mowed his yard again, that is three days later.

We were talking yesterday and I believe he explained as follows, I thought it had been a week since we mowed, I forgot what day it was, once I started mowing and then remembered what day it was, I had to continue or the yard would have looked bad!

In truth, our grass is growing like weeds, for that one person growing like weeds means, the grass is growing very quickly. I mowed last Tuesday, I cut my grass to a height of four (4) inches. There is grass that is eight (8) inches tall near where I sit in the afternoons, when I partake in my senior person’s beverage (aka Adult beverage). So in five (5) days that grass has grown 4 inches, maybe we should stop watering the grass!

I need a haircut real bad. I may attempt to go to the hair saloon (salon) this morning. I don’t like going due to the virus but I need a haircut.

I go to the doctor tomorrow for my annual physical. My doctor has retired and I need to see if one of the other doctors will claim me.

That is it, I am getting a cup of coffee and taking a well-deserved break.

Forgetful, why don’t we forget to eat?

Sunday July 5, 2020

I don’t have any real comments about Sunday yet, but I may be able to provide a photo or two, from yesterday.

Tres received a bath and later in the day, when he had dried off, he was attacked with a curry comb. He did not seem to mind having a bunch of hair removed. That is my favorite wife trying to keep the Tres still as she removed the surplus hair. Click to enhance.

First photo we see a 5 gallon bucket in which the removed hair was being place, as we did not want the entire front yard to be covered with hair. Second photo is of basically of the same situation but you may see that Charlie is laying there hoping he would get some hair removal too, or not. I have another photo showing the fords ole desk area and some of the things I have to put up with during my day. Yes that is the government sponsored computer.

Be thankful for all your blessings, show that you care by listening to friends and family. In doing so, you will not only be a blessing to others, it will make your day one of the best!

Masks, no touching, had washing, distance appropriately, it may not be something you want to do, but you may help keep me safe from the virus

July 4th 2020

Nothing!             What?                  Oh, I thought you were going to ask what I have been doing. The answer would have been, “Nothing”, but since you did not ask, you may just over look these first three lines.

My present spouse and I have decided to celebrate the 4th, by doing yard work. Allow me to explain. My spouse of more than 5 decades went outside and began removing weeds from some of the flower beds. She did work in the beds that were in the shade and it was early morning, thus beating some of the heat. I, being a nice person went out and helped her by removing the items that she had tossed onto the grass. When she, I mean we finished, we decided to wash the Tres.

He liked the wash job and when we were done he went running around the yard. He was rolling in the grass, we assume he was attempting to dry off. He headed for a dry dusty area, and we knew he was going to roll in the dust. My first wife was able to get him away from the dust and into the house while he was still clean.

I watered some of the flowers and some of the grass after the bathing of the pot hound.

Did someone ask what I did yesterday, since there was no blog posting yesterday? No one asked, and it is very hurtful that none, not one of the so called reading public even noticed that I had not posted to the Blog. A blogger like me, who provides instructions for life, occasionally a joke or two, and words of wisdom that would cost many dollars if you went to a psychologist, but no one even noticed, that I, had not provided a wonderful written post!

I did work on my newest scrapper project. I believe I will finish it today, if it isn’t too hot to go into the garage and work. 101 even with the fan blowing on me is very hot for a retired senior person.

As you can see, our celebration for the fourth is trying to beat the heat. Wow, I just thought of something else I can make from scrap wood, and I can use it with the new Government sponsored computer. I saw this thing on TV that you place your computer on, and it sits at an angle making the key board more visible. That means I would need to get the saw out, which means there would be saw dust, and I would need to clean it up, which again means work for the ole senior Ford!

May your Holiday not be Hollow, may the day be filled with Friends, Family, Food and Fun!

Darn, that was a lot of “Fs”.
