August 4, 2025

I will start off with, is it a good morning, or, is it still a good night? Why do I ask that? I will tell you. My favorite grandson Alex has football practice today and for the next two weeks, that is until school starts. The football players were asked to be there at 5:30 in the morning to get ready for practice and practice starts at 6:00am. Sunrise is around 6:30 in the morning.

I set the alarm on my phone for 4:30 AM I set the alarm on my alarm clock for 4:35 AM. My phone went off at 4:30, But I was awake earlier than that waiting for the phone alarm to go off. I crawled out of bed and got my clothes on, did some things like brush my teeth, feed the dog, take my morning pill, you know all the normal things I do each morning, and then I jumped into the pickup truck and called Alex, I told him I was on the way and headed over to his house.

I arrived at Alex's home at 5:15am. He was ready to go so we drove carefully over to school, and I dropped him off at 5:30. There were plenty of young men (aka boys) going in to get ready for football practice. I then headed up to the Star Coffee Place to get me a cup of coffee. Yes, the star coffee place opens at 4:30 AM in the morning so I got my coffee and drove back home.

I'm sitting here in front of this computer giving it the words rather than typing and I started this message about 6:00am. I just looked at the clock and it's about 6:15am now and the sun still is not up.

So, what do I do now do I go get in my easy chair in the front room and attempt to take a nap? Tres the dog just come in here and looked at me and wanted to know why I'm talking to myself, he doesn't know that I'm talking to the computer.

Do I have any plans for today? I do need to get out in the back and water the blackberries since we're not getting any rain although, right now they're saying there's some storms coming this way and if the storms do get here and give us some rain, I won't have to water the blackberries. The weather guy said that the storms might keep the temperature about 8 or 10° below normal today so that would be great. I will also need to water the flowers in the pots as they dry out quicker than the flowers in the ground. I will need to go get Alex from football practice at about noon and then who knows what else we'll do.

Well, I guess I will stop for now and allow you to go do something else other than read this. I will see if I need to take a nap or… We hope you have a good day, be safe and all you do, and keep all the old people in mind and in your prayers.

Early riser. Don the Ford

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow.
