August 23, 2025

Allow me to start out with a good morning to all, we hope everyone has a very good day.

Yesterday's events: yesterday I went outside and decided to dig a hole and plant a flower that my wife wanted planted. First, I got on my knees and maybe after praying a little bit, I pulled weeds out of the flower bed. Did I get them all, no but it does look a little better. I then decided to get the shovel and start digging. I had Removed several shovels full of dirt when I ran into some roots, but it started to rain. Naturally I put everything away, then I went and sat on the front porch and enjoyed the time as I watched it rain. Photo to follow.

Knowing their roots are there, my next plan when I start on the hole again is to move over about 5 or 6 inches and see if I can get away from those roots.

Topic change, squirrels: I have two events of squirrels that I would like to relay to you, and the first one is I understand that a squirrel can jump out of a tree easily from 10 feet high and not hurt itself. My favorite wife and I were sitting on the front porch when we heard something hit the ground in front of us. It was a squirrel. There had been two squirrels up in the tree running after each other and this one fell out. The estimated height that it fell from is about 20 feet. The squirrel got up, ran across the yard to another tree and went on up the tree.

The second story about a squirrel: yesterday as we were setting out on the front porch after the rain. There was a squirrel who appeared to be a younger squirrel in the neighbor's yard, and it was playing. By playing I mean it was jumping up in the air doing flip flops rolling around it would pick up a little piece of stick and grab it and throw it and then jump up like it was something chasing it and it would run around and jump and turn circles flip flops and it did that probably for 15 minutes. We have a lot of squirrels in the neighborhood, and we wish most of them were gone as they are eating the pecans off our pecan tree.

Security by the dog Tres: Even though our dog is fairly friendly, he seems to be mean because he's big and his bark is loud. Yesterday afternoon as my wife and I were sitting outside attempting to enjoy a quiet evening, there were 2 fellows walking down the street (one on either side of the street). They appeared to be going to each house, and we assume attempting to sell something. When the fellow on our side of the street walked from the other house towards our driveway where we were sitting, I looked at him, I shook my head no, and then let my dog start barking at him. He did not attempt to come in the driveway he walked on down the street. Guard dog be good.

Today's possible events enumerated: I plan on going out in the yard this morning and picking up some of the debris out of the backyard, I've already picked it up out of the front yard in preparation for our yard man Alex to come over this afternoon and Mow. Alex had something going on this morning. I think him and one of these buddies were going somewhere to do something so he decided he could come over in the afternoon. My favorite wife and I will probably go into town get our sandwiches at the sandwich shop as usual on Saturday. We may even stop at the booze emporium on the way home and pick up a bottle. We will likely stop at the cheap store and review their inventory then returning home I will go get Alex and bring him over and let him mow.

Well, I guess I will stop now we hope you have a good day and please stay safe and in you do.

Dog protection.  Don the Ford

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow.
