Good Sunday morning to one and all, we hope you all have a very good day. Today's posting will be a little different from normal. We are going to talk about Friday, Saturday and then Sunday.
On Friday morning I picked Alex up take him to school at the normal time and when we arrived at the school Alex said, "I forgot we're not supposed to be here for 30 more minutes".
Back at home I sit down and begin to read from the Bible, and I finished reading about 9:30 that morning. I then decided since it was still cool outside and early morning I would go out and trim the backyard with a string trimmer preparing it for mowing.
Trimming finished I Decided that I would mow the back 40. Now I had not planned on mowing but since it was still morning why not get it done. When I finished mowing, I went inside the house and rested for a while letting my old body recover from all the work.
Our neighbor lady came over and asked if we would keep an eye on her house while they were going to the funeral of her husband. My favorite wife and I did watch the funeral online from our house and we kept an eye on her property using our security cameras.
Later in the afternoon we sat outside, and a friend came over, yes we do have a couple friends and sometimes one will come over and visit us. As usual we had a lot of good conversations talking about politics and everything else you can think of including the Bible. All the discussions were finished, our friend left, and we came in the house for supper and now you know our Friday's events.
Allow me to start on Saturday's events; Saturday morning a little before 8:00am I headed over to David's house where I had parked my trailer a couple days before. He had loaded it with some trash and with some limbs from the trees which we needed to haul off to the dump. On the way to his house, I stopped at the star coffee place and procured a cup of coffee. Arriving at David's house I connected the trailer to the pickup truck, and we put some straps on the items on the trailer to keep them from falling off when we drove.
We arrived at the dump site got checked in. We got everything unloaded and I spoke with Juan, the fellow that works at the city and he asked if they had come and fixed the ditch behind my house yet, to which I replied "no". He asked me to talk to the lady down at the gate and set up an appointment for his team to come to our house and fix the ditch.
We drove home to David's house he got out and went in then I drove on back to my house where I was able to back the trailer into the backyard and get it in place unhook it from the pickup truck and then get my truck back out of the backyard safely.
I then proceeded into the homestead where I was able to take a shower, get some clean clothes on and kick back in my recliner and rest for a few minutes before our families arrived. We all then headed into town to one of our favorite restaurants for a nice lunch which was celebrating my birthday.
Launch completed we headed back home where we sat around and talked with Patrick and Karla for a while before they headed back to their home down near Austin. Later in the afternoon we went outside and sat for a while. There was very little traffic, no birds hanging around, it was just very quiet.
Sundays plans: we will likely go over for lunch at the cracker store, and I know my favorite wife has a couple things he wants to do after that, AKA shopping, then we'll head for home and take it easy the rest of the day.
I will stop for now. We hope you all have a real good day and be safe in all you do, also enjoy some time with your family.
