April 27, 2025

We are starting out with a good morning here in Hewitt Texas, for those not in Hewitt please be patient, you will also have a good morning.

Review of yesterday’s events, or, here is another page from The Don’s journal. Postings are supposed to be interesting things, and a journal is about what someone did.

We started yesterday off by doing very little. I did get to do my daily reading from the bible and I did venture out into the back 40 reviewing the grass in the yard and then the weeds in the ditch. As I had noted in yesterday’s Journal, while exploring the back 40 I was shocked to find that the winds had removed a panel from the Fords old hot house. Photo to follow.

I did recover the panel from the ditch behind the house and reinstall it on the ole hot house. It is amazing to me that any sun light even gets through the old, stained panels.

My favorite wife and I did keep the usual Saturday schedule, we went into town for a lunch sandwich, then we stopped at the cheap store. Back at home I took a 20-minute break (aka nap) then I called our yard man Alex and asked him to come over and cut the weeds in the ditch. It took him about 1.5 hours to cut all the weeds and then I compensated him and took him back home.

My favorite wife did plant a few new flowers, and I helped a little, but I did not take photos. Speaking of photos, I do have a photo of a flower in the back 40 that has several blooms and more are coming.

Later in the afternoon we did sit outside enjoying the quiet neighborhood.

Well, I guess I should stop and try to get ready to go over to the cracker company for lunch. We have not visited this cracker store for two weeks, we hope they did not go out of business due to our refusal to visit and spend money.

We hope everyone has a good day and that we all stay safe in all we do.

Be nice today…

Senior ole person who tries to be nice to others most of the time, Don the Ford

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
