April 11, 2025

Good morning again from the Fords, and we hope you all have a good morning.

Let me enumerate the events of yesterday: I was going to change the oil in the riding mower, was going to put a new air filter in the air conditioner, was going to get my hair cut; I did get my hair cut. Wow, it doesn’t seem as if I did much, possibly I can explain.

I did go and get my hair cut even though I forgot to take the discount card with me, yep, I paid the full price. After the cutting of my hair, I went to the star coffee place to get a cup even though my ole gold card did not have enough funding to purchase a cup. I had decided I would put a few dollars in the card so I could continue to use it. Money added, coffee purchased, I went home. At the homestead I went to the computer and checked to see if the funding had been put in my account properly, and I found that my normal account was not there. To shorten this story, I was told they had some computer problems, so I will call again today and see if they can get my account back online.

At the house during all this, some tree cutting people stopped by wanting to trim the dead from a tree in the back 40. Now I have wanted to get the dead out of that tree for about 3 years, and the last people I hired did trim the trees in the front yard and then left without doing the back 40 tree. I listened to their bid and how they proposed to do the work. They gave me a price and I said I would consider it. Then they reduced the price, and we agreed on the work. I don’t have a photo of the tree before, but I have a photo after.

They did a good job of getting the dead out of the tree and they removed all the new growth that needed to go. They cleaned up and they were done in about 4 hours. My favorite wife and I were able to go out for supper at the usual time.

After supper we did sit outside and enjoyed the afternoon. While we were outside, I decided to run the lawn sprinklers for one minute each section, to see if all the heads would operate as usual. The number 7 system would not automatically turn off, I will need to get a sprinkler person to check the solenoid for that system.

Today, after getting the Alex off to school I plan to change the oil and oil filter on the riding mower and a few other things in the yard.

I assume I should stop for now and get started to Alex’ home. We hope you all have a good day and stay safe in all you do.

No rest for the elderly.

Senior ole person who will do some work and will do some resting, Don the Ford

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
