This was written on Thursday.
“What happened now”, he asked, “Let me inform you”!
Last evening (Wednesday), my spouse of 49.5 years and I were reviewing the work that has been done. Being a very observant person, (she gets that from me) she asked, “Where is the water line for the dish washer”? I stood there looking at the location where the dish washer will be located. There was no water line! We will ask that question in the morning when they arrive.
Thursday morning, my first wife had left the homestead heading for the grocery store. Truth is, I doubt if there is a true grocery store any more. Most stores have many other items along with the groceries.
The worker arrived and after our greetings, I asked about the water line. He stood there looking, and replied, “That is a good question”. We discussed other items, and as we spoke I said, “I need to look in the garage for something”. We walked to the garage and sure enough, the dish washer was gone. He acknowledged that they hauled it off yesterday. He said he would call his boss and have him bring it back. I don’t know why my present spouse wanted to keep it, I guess she thought it would save a couple dollars.
Different subject; I ordered an item from that huge on line company, a few days ago. It shipped from Kentucky via UPS and it is out for delivery by USPS. It is a watch. The other day I was conferring with the three ladies who walk past of Homestead each morning, when one of them asked, “What time is it”? I reached for my back pocket which is where I usually carry my cell phone, but it wasn’t there. I could not provide the time to the ladies. One of them noted, we have all changed, no one wears a watch any more.
That statement is almost true. People no longer wear a watch that only tells time, they now connect the smart watch to the cell phones and do things like track the number of steps you take, heart rate, and many other things. Well, I ordered a kind of smart watch, in other words it is cheap. It would be nice if we weren’t on a fixed income and then we could have nice things like you do!
Today is Friday and they are here working. They arrived at 8:00 and started immediately after greetings. My spouse of almost 5 decades has left me, she is going to a garage sale. I need to go mow.
Have a nice day, and safe weekend!
