Demolished 10.10.18

I understand that you are tired of reading these postings, and I don’t blame you. Now is a good time to get out of this blog and find something interesting to do. I will stop now, and give you 2 minutes to stop reading and do something else.
            2 minutes
            1 minute
Ok, for that one person who has chosen to not stop reading, we will continue. The contractor team showed up yesterday and basically destroyed our little kitchen. They found that the cabinets were custom built cabinets and not individual cabinet sections. This made it much more difficult for them to remove the cabinets due to the cabinet being one large cabinet and not many individual sections.

We no longer have a kitchen sink, which use to be under the window. There is no stove or oven. We can’t drink or cook, we may starve before they finish. The back splash was glued to the wall and that is the brown area.
When they started to remove the upper cabinets, which had something they called a fur-down, which went from the top of the cabinets to the ceiling, which was not supposed to be removed, they found that it had to be removed as it was a part of the upper custom build cabinets. They asked me if I thought my present spouse would be ok with the removal, or would they need to put a new fur-down (not sure how one should spell fur- down, and don’t know if they were pronouncing it correctly) in place with the new cabinets.
I, not wanting to take responsibility for answering this question, I grabbed the cell phone and called my present spouse. That is when we could hear her phone ringing in the front room. Yep, she had left the building and did not take her phone with her. This was not the first time this has happened.
When she arrived home we learned that she was ok with it, as it gave her space to display some of her collectables.
They were supposed to haul all the old cabinets off but instead all this junk is in our garage, along with all our items that have been removed from the homestead.
They are supposed to be here today and begin installing the lower cabinets. Even though I am not a contractor, I wonder why they are not installing the upper cabinets first, thus allowing for more room for small step ladders at floor level, while installing the upper cabinets.
            New subject:
We received some rain yesterday. Here at the Ford Homestead the official rain gage indicated a little less than 2.25 inches. Water stood in the back yard for almost an hour after the rain was finished, then it disappeared into the ground. I think we are now only about 8 inches behind for the year.
            New subject:
Yesterday, I needed to get the Ford’s Chevy inspected, so while I was out I decided to go to that Star coffee place. It was closed due to construction. I then went to the Mc coffee place and purchased a larger cup of coffee for $1.00 which is half the price at the other place. There was as much traffic at the Mc coffee drive through, as there usually is at the Star coffee place. (I do not like to advertise for companies unless I am paid, thus no complete names
The temperature today started in the mid-60s and should top out at mid-70s. Winter must be here. I have a couple windows open allowing for fresh air to enter the Homestead.
It is 9:30 and the contractor is not here yet, we have been advised that they will arrive about 10:30.
I will leave you now and get a cup of coffee, here at the homestead.

May your coffee be just as you like it!
