June 17,2026

Good morning to all, we have a little fog here in Hewitt this morning.

As I was reading from the bible yesterday it dawned on me that we had lots of rain and some flooding. Why did I think about that while I was reading the bible, I was reading in Genesis about Noah and the great flood.

With floods in mind and the fact that we received 5 inches of rain the other day I wondered why our neighbor had forgotten to turn off his lawn sprinklers.

I received a call from Alex saying that he was ready to go home from ROTC. I did get him home safely and I wish he could get his drivers test at the DMV so he could drive himself and I could stay at home more. His “appointment” to take the driver’s test is in late August! After dropping him off at home I purchase some food for our lunch and stopped by the drug store for some drugs.

After lunch I had decided to get our electric string trimmer and do some trimming in the front yard. I wanted to trim back some of the Jasmin vines that were growing over the sidewalk and the porch. That work completed, my favorite wife and I sat on the front porch for a while as I wanted to rest. It was hot and I did have a fan, photo to follow. The drawing is of me, and Gabi drew that for me several years ago.

Rest completed, I again got the string trimmer and finished trimming the rest of the yard. I then took another short rest period. All rested up, I headed out back to get the walk behind mower. Yes, I mowed the front yard and this time I used the grass catcher. As usual, I have a photo; you might notice the upper left corner of the photo.

I did put everything away and I had a couple bottles of water as we rested on the porch. I have another photo, it isn’t great, but it has red and green properties which caught my eye.

As soon as I was able to move again, I headed to the shower and cleaned up. All clean I warmed up the leftovers for our supper.

Day’s work done I did have an adult beverage.

Today’s possible events: none, I don’t need to take Alex anywhere and I will allow my ole body to rest.

I am stopping for now, we hope you have a good day and stay safe in all you do while we are thankful for all our friends.

Mr. Donnie the lawn man Ford

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow.
