Chapter 4 Time Travel Understood 11.05.15

Welcome back to my understanding and my questioning of, “Time Movement”.
Allow me to again state, “Time travel” is not possible, but we will pretend that it is possible, in order to create this conjecture.
Let us consider the possibility of a person going back in time to meet himself.
Let me provide a brief description of the fellow. He was about 5 foot 9, rather plain looking, with the exception of his flaming red hair, and was a loaner. Let’s call this person, “Freddy”. He was not able to maintain a long term friendship with anyone, even as a child he was not liked by other kids. Although he was not abused as a child, living in orphanages did not help his self-esteem.
Did I note, that he enjoyed abusing and even killing any small animal he could get his hands on?
Freddy worked as a night maintenance person in a California state ran scientific laboratory. This is where the time movement machine was conceived and eventually built. To define maintenance worker, he was a janitor.
Being one of several janitors on the Campus, Freddy had access to many of the laboratories, one of which had the time machine in it.
The scientists had made many test movements going back in time from fifteen minutes up to two days. They had sent various animals back and forth with what seemed to be no ill effects.
Their plan was to send one of the physicists back in time next Monday December 2nd. That is the Monday following Thanksgiving, a four day holiday.  They all agreed that the long holiday weekend would provide a needed rest period before their first human time movement experiment.
Understanding all that, there is one other small thing that might be of interest. As a twenty seven year old adult, Freddy has murdered 3 people over a two year period of time, and now he wants to go back in time.
Freddy wants to convince himself to not commit the murders, allowing himself to live a normal life free of the worry that the police may come knocking at his door. With that reason in mind, he has decided to attempt to go back and meet himself.

The time machine is a capsule, with many wires and devices inside and outside. Although it was a very technical unit, Freddy had overheard one of the physicists say, “it is simple to operate, just enter the date and time that you want to go back to, the unit does the rest. To return to present time one would enter the word return and the computer will do the rest”.
Wednesday evening, the day before Thanksgiving, Freddy had cleaned all the rooms and was finished with his nights work. He proceeded to the time clock and punched out, knowing if his time card indicated he was still working, someone would come looking for him.
Freddy quickly and quietly returned to the lab after punching out and entered the time machine. He turned on the computer and after a couple minutes all was ready. The computer prompted him to enter a date and time.
He had given this some thought and he decided to go back in time to three days before he had committed the first murder. He believed he could convince himself to not commit the murders but he thought it might take some time to do this. He planned to return within two or three days, in order to keep the scientists from knowing what he had done.
He entered the date and time, then pushed the enter button on the computer and everything instantly went black, and just as quick everything was light again.
Had it worked?
Had he and the time machine disintegrated and reintegrated that quickly?
Was he in the past?
Freddy climbed out of the machine and looked around. Everything seemed the same. He was still in the lab. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. The phones date and time being controlled by the cell provider should indicate the correct date and time.
The phone date and time were resetting. Freddy was in fact back in time two years and eighteen days.
Now he would need to go to his old apartment and confront himself. Freddy carefully left the building trying not to be seen by any of the night security people.
He rode the bus to a stop close to the apartment and then walked the last three blocks. Freddy climbed up the flight of stairs and walked to his door.
Freddy two was in his apartment playing a video game alone, as he has done every evening for a couple years. Freddy had spent many hours playing video games that allowed him, in a virtual reality setting, to satisfy his need to kill monsters and people.
Freddy one knocked on the door but Freddy two would not open the door, and he said he was going to call the police if he didn’t leave! Freddy one was not worried because he knew Freddy two didn’t have a phone. Freddy two had no friends, so who would he talk to. Freddy one tried everything he could think of to get Freddy two to open the door, but to no avail.
Knowing his routines, he decided to leave. He would wait until 8:00 pm which is the time that Freddy two would leave the apartment and walk to the corner quick shop where he would purchase two hot dogs that have been cooking way to long, a bag of BBQ chips and a grape soda.
Freddy one waited in the shadows, just outside the quick shop, for Freddy two to arrive for his evening meal. As soon as Freddy two was inside, Freddy one followed him in. The lady at the cash register was astonished to see an additional red haired person who was identical to Freddy, enter the quick shop. She said out loud, “Twins?”
That comment caused Freddy two to turn from the soda machine, he was surprised to see someone who looked exactly like himself, standing at the front door.
Freddy two said, “Who the heck are you”?     Freddy one said, “I am your brother” knowing that he would not believe he was from the future.     Freddy two said, “I don’t have a brother”!     Freddy one said, “Look at me, I look exactly like you, I am your Twin brother”.
The woman at the cash register decided something was wrong, and she reached under the counter and pulled out a hand gun. Pointing the gun at Freddy one, she told them both, “Get out!
Freddy one, said to the cashier, “We don’t want any trouble, just want my brother”.  Freddy two was in total shock. He could not believe that someone who looked like him was there.
Freddy one walked over to Freddy two and grabbed his arm. Freddy two jerked his arm away. The store employee said, “This is my last warning to you, Get Out!” They both walked out with their hands raised as Freddy two asked the store clerk, who was still pointing the gun at them, to call the police.
As the door shut behind them, the store clerk thought, “call the police, I don’t think so. The police would think I was crazy if I told them, there was twins in here and one of them wanted me to call the police. She also thought, the police might know she had a gun and she would end up in jail.

There was a slight struggle in the quick shop parking lot as Freddy two attempted to get away from Freddy one. Freddy one said, “Just listen to me for 5 minutes and then if you want me to leave I will”. Still unsure of what was happening with this look alike, Freddy two agreed to listen for 5 minutes.
Freddy one decided to stick with the twin brother lie, as it would be easier to believe than, “I am you, from the future”!  Freddy one made up the story that they were split up at birth and put in different foster homes. This seemed to make some sense to Freddy two, after all he was in many foster homes.
Freddy two decided that Freddy one wasn’t going to hurt him, so they walked and talked for a while, eventually returning to the apartment.
Back at the apartment, Freddy one was trying to decide how to tell Freddy two that he was from the future and not his twin. What could he say to convince Freddy two that he was from the future?  Freddy one started talking about his childhood and his later life, telling Freddy two, things that only Freddy two should have known.
Freddy one could see that Freddy two was beginning to question how he knew so much about his private past. Then, Freddy one said, “I am not your twin brother I have come back from the future to help you”. Freddy two is now visibly upset, not believing anyone could travel from the future to the past.
Freddy one said, “Get your driver’s license”. Both men compared their license information, it was the same. Freddy two still being skeptical said, if we are the same, our finger prints would be the same. Each Freddy put ink on their thumb and then put their thumb print on a piece of paper side by side. Anyone could see, the thumb prints were identical.
It took an hour or so to get Freddy two believing that Freddy one, was himself, and from the future.
That night, as they sat in front of the TV, the topic of discussion was all about what had taken place in the future?  Freddy two was interested in the killings and whether the Law had found any evidence that he was a murderer. Freddy one was attempting to convince Freddy two that he should not kill anyone.
Much of the discussion then centered on not murdering anyone so they could live fairly normal lives in the future. Freddy two not yet having killed anyone other than on the video games asked, “What did it feel like when I killed the first person”?
There was smiles from Freddy one as he told of feeling such a rush of power that came over him, as he slowly cut into the living body of the victim.
The screams due to the pain that he was inflicting, made him feel euphoric.
There was nothing that could compare”, he said!
Having the power to, and then slowly taking the life of another, in his words, “must be what it would feel like to be in heaven”!
Both of these creatures (so called people) were now stimulated by talking about those euphoric feelings, and they (being of the same mind) wanted to enjoy a slow and painful butchery of some victim.

To be continued…
