March 31, 2026

As we start this day we wish you a good morning.

We did not do too much yesterday, we went to the restaurant for lunch, mine was good and hers was not too good. After that, my favorite wife wanted to go to the store and purchase some makeup, which we did. We returned home and I washed the Fords ole Chevy (pickup truck). The truck is no longer a lite green, it is now back to a bright white.

A thought from me to anyone who will listen.

I had taken my grandson to school, dropped him off and returned home safely. I was in the house taking a break when I noticed that I had the key fob for the new vehicle in my pocket. I took it out and I thought, "isn't it something that you can just walk up to the car with the key fob in your pocket and unlock the door get in the car push a button and start it never needing a key as long as you have the key fob which has a chip in it that communicates with the car".

Then I thought, "wouldn't it be something if you just had the chip implanted in your hand, so you didn't have to carry a key fob with you. Then when you walk up to your car it unlocks you can get in and start it and never have to have a key fob in your pocket or purse". Then I thought, "Yep that's going to happen in the very near future and it will be a part of the mark of the beast".

Note: The chip being implanted in your hand or forehead will also mean you no longer have to carry an ID you don't have to have a billfold or a purse you don't have to carry money with you because all transactions (buying or selling) will be worked off of that chip, and most people will think it is such a great convenience having the chip (the mark of the beast).

In the bible the mark of the beast is the number 666. With all the AI (artificial intelligence) that is being produced now I am considering the 6 6 6 as, 6 digits 6 digits and 6 digits, placed on a computer chip and inserted into one's hand or forehead.

You can make up your own mind about this, but I might be right. If I am right this will begin happening soon.

Believe in God and ask for his guidance!

I will stop for now, we hope you have a good day and that we all stay safe in all we do.

We want to say good morning, and we have a bright morning photo taken in part of the back 40 here at the Ford's homestead. The ole swing set frame is next to the #3 berry bed and the red building on the other side of the ditch is not ours.

Speaking of the ditch me and Alex need to weed eat that ditch. Most of the people don't do anything to keep the ditch cleaned out.

Yesterday was a restful day, we went to the cracker store for lunch. Returning home we sat outside for a while. At one point while we were sitting outside my favorite wife said she wanted to walk down the driveway to the street and down the street and look at the flowers and everything in front of the house, which we did. That is a lot of walking for her, and we are very proud of her.

When we returned from our walk-in front of the house the neighbor from across the street came over and sat with us.

Today's big plans, I don't have any. I have taken Alex to school I'll kick back and take a break doing nothing as I try to decide what I might want to do. I do need to remove some more weeds from some of the flower beds and stuff so that may be what I do.

I guess I will stop and try to think of something that I need to do but don't want to do but might do. We hope you all have a good day and stay safe in all you do. Be nice to everybody.

Great dawn, is that better than a good morning?

Mid 60s yesterday, and mid 80s today.

Allow me to enlighten you as to our extraordinary events yesterday.

Alex's allergies were bothering him. Alex mowed the yards. I have a photo of some of the work in the front yard.

Yes, you are looking at the walkway in the front yard. Notice that the grass is cut properly and the sidewalk is trimmed properly. Proper trimming makes the mowed yard look good. Thanks Alex.

The back 40 was also mowed and trimmed, I removed the Poopa-Loopa from the back 40. I pulled some weeds that were covering a small rose bush, photo to follow of the small rose at the top, and the pile of weeds at the bottom of the photo.

These weeds in the pile were literally covering the small rose bush in the photo. They were easy to remove as they pulled out easily. I cleared a couple of areas in other flower beds. Too much work for a senior person.

Work completed, Alex and I allowed my favorite wife to go with us into town for lunch. Lunch completed we were able to get Alex home safely and we also made it back to the homestead in a safe manner.

After much rest I watered the flowers in the pots and the berry beds.

We sat outside yesterday afternoon as a friend came and sat with us. Most conversations were about doctors and medical problems.

What are our plans for today: if we can afford it, we might go to the cracker store for lunch or breakfast. Currently, we have no other plans.

I will stop for now, we hope you have a good day and that we all stay safe in all we do. Thanks for your prayers, we will keep you in our prayers.

Good morning to you but should I wish a good morning to the rest of them? Ok Good morning to all of you.

Yesterday's events: I was allowed to go to two grocery stores and there were a bunch of people in my way in those stores.

Later, I did pick-up sticks from the front yard, all the usual housework and homework for bible study. We sat outside for a while until the wind from the cold front started blowing.

Temp was in the mid-80s yesterday and it is 56 this morning.

I am supposed to get Alex our yard man to come over today and mow the yards. Alex says he likes the cool weather, so that will not be a problem for him. Alex and the group of the Marine ROTC visited the police station yesterday. They learned some things about the police, and none were detained.

Yard work and maybe lunch for today's schedule.

We hope you have a good day and that we all stay safe in all we do.

Good morning to you all.

I did something yesterday, but can I remember what I did?

I took Alex to school yesterday morning. Returning home I worked on my posting for a while then I rested, aka nap. Rest period over I decided to get the gas-powered string trimmer and start trimming the front yard. I checked the oil and added gas, and I was ready to start the trimmer. I attempted to pull the starter rope and the plastic handle on the starter rope broke in my hand. I went back into the shed and got the other ole string trimmer. I removed the plastic handle from that trimmer and put it on the one I wanted to use.

Trimmer started I began to trim in the back 40. You are right, I was supposed to go to the front yard and trim; I get distracted easily. I did not trim the entire back 40 and I did go to the front yard. To shorten this story, it took a little over two hours to get the trimming and clean up done. I got everything put away and I went into the house and crawled onto my ole recliner for a needed rest.

After the nice rest period I took a shower and then headed out to get my hair cut. Returning home after the hair stylists visit, we headed out for supper at the George restaurant. Food was good and service was a little slow.

Back at home we sat outside for a while.

Today: I did get Alex to school on time and in a safe manner. I need to go to the store and get a few items today and I need to remove a few small sticks from the front yard.

I am stopping now, have a good day and stay safe on all you do.

Good morning to you and that other person too.

Yesterday was a day when I was off my normal schedule and I think it was due to me doing housework. Dishes need to be washed, floors need to be vacuumed, beds need to be made and bills need to be paid. I did go to the dentists yesterday morning and they want me back next week for a filling.

The rehab lady was here yesterday morning and that also took away from my normal time. She said my favorite wife was doing good suggested that she do even more walking which would help her to continue recovering.

I moved a big flower which was in a flower pot to the front yard. I had the approval of my favorite wife as the flower had a bunch of blooms. I did check my ole gas powered string trimmer as I might want to use it today to trim the front yard.

We sat outside yesterday afternoon and a friend from across the street came over to visit. We learned that her husband has hurt his knee and needs crutches to walk. We talked for a while, and she noted that her bird house was in bad condition, so we gave her a new bird house. She told us what she was cooking for supper and she said she would bring us some. It was good!

I did my Bible study late yesterday afternoon at supper time. I prefer to do that homework in the morning.

This morning I took Alex to school, and I also purchased some candy bars that he was selling for the ROTC. Alex (a sophomore) noted that he gets to go with the Junior and Senior ROTC Class to the police station and they will be allowed to shoot real guns.

I hope to get outside and trim some today and who knows what else I will do.

I am stopping for now we hope you have a good day and please stay safe in all you do.

March 25, 2026

Another do nothing day yesterday, although I did leave the homestead early morning to get a cup of real coffee and a breakfast burrito. I did share the burrito with my favorite wife as the burritos are fairly large and they taste good.

I did my bible study homework and then I was allowed to vacuum the floors. Our dog Tres leaves hair everywhere he sists or lays, and he lays everywhere.

I did go out to the back 40 and first I watered the flowers in the pots and then the berry beds. There are blooms in the berry beds, and I took a photo of one bloom. The bees are checking the blooms.

I moved a flower from one ole damaged pot into the pot that was given to me yesterday. A photo to follow.

I installed the new battery in the riding mower, and it works.

The shed is powered by a battery, and the battery is kept charged by a solar panel. That battery is not holding a charge. I use the battery in the shed for lights and for other power tools like a saw or compressor, yes I have a power inverter. I will put the battery on the battery charger here in the garage and see if it will accept the charge. I need to know if the solar panel is not working properly or if it is the battery.

We sat outside for a while yesterday afternoon and the neighborhood was very quiet. There were many jets flying around as usual and I had a set of binoculars to look at the jets.

Today I will go to the dentist for a cleaning, and then do nothing. I am stopping for now, we hope yu have a good day and that we all stay safe in all we do.

March 24, 2026

                Good morning to all.

Yesterday's events and workload. I would say that yesterday was a day of motion for this old senior person. As usual the first part of my day was getting a cup of coffee at the star coffee place then taking my grandson Alex to school. After that I came to the homestead where I took a few minutes to rest up before going to the grocery store.

I had several things I wanted to acquire yesterday I had a list of my things to to get and a list of things that my favorite wife wanted me to get. Arriving at Wally world my first purchase was to go to the garden department and buy a battery for my riding lawn mower. The battery for the riding lawn mower cost $38 but when I got to the counter to pay for it, they wanted $53.00. The lady at the counter explained that since I did not have the old battery with me, I had to pay the charge of $12.00 which I could recover if I brought the old battery back to the store.

I took the battery out and put it in the vehicle Where I discovered I had a package of toothpaste in the cart that I had not paid for. I put the battery in the car and went back into the store to purchase my groceries and to pay for the toothpaste that I still had in the cart. I try not to cheat anybody. I went through the store to get the groceries that I wanted and the groceries that my favorite wife wanted.

We also want to get a device that would be placed at the toilet which would help ole people get up or down from the toilet seat. This Wally world does not have one.

Back at home after unloading the Groceries from the vehicle, placing some in the cabinets and some in the refrigerator are deep freeze I then started some of my housework vacuuming the floors and washing the clothes. It happened that I had three bunches of clothes to wash which took a little while.

With all that work done it was later in the afternoon, and we headed outside and took a little rest period in the afternoon heat. Now I had Bible study last night so we could only sit outside till about 5:00 PM because I would need to get ready to go and I would also need to prepare supper for my favorite wife.

A good friend from down the street brought us up some flowerpots that hang which they knew I needed because they had seen my comments on the blog. It is good to have good friends who help you out on things like that. We appreciate good friend.

Bible study was good as usual.

Later today I have very little planned, I do want to put the new battery into the riding lawn mower, and I do want to replant a flower or two now that I have pots that are not damaged to put them in. I did not need to take Alex to school today as his mother is off work, so she took him to school.

I am stopping for now, we hope you have a good day and that we all stay safe in all we do.

                                    Ask and you shall receive,

March 23, 2026

Good morning.

Yesterday's events: I went out to the hot house and checked on that one plant that Alex found which had fire ants in it. He put fire Ant killer in the pot so I checked on it to see if it still had fire ants in it, and it did. I put a different fire ant killer in it and finally got them killed and the plant is now out of the greenhouse.

I did work with a plant trying to clean some of the dead out of it when I noticed that the plastic container which is a hanging flowerpot, was broken, so now I need to try to find a plastic hanging flowerpot.

My favorite wife and I decided to go into the cheap store where she bought some batteries, and I got a new sprayer for the hose out front. We had a gift card worth $75 and the amount that we bought was $75.74.

Leaving there we drove to another store where we looked around for a hanging plastic flowerpot. They have plastic hanging flowerpots with flowers in them but not empty plastic hanging flowerpots to sell. My favorite wife bought a few things that she needed or wanted and then we headed for home.

Back at home I did work with a couple flowers trying  to get them located and then my favorite wife and I decided we would go outside and sit in the tremendous heat. It was another quiet afternoon here in the neighborhood. We came in at 5:00pm and it was still 91° then.

As we sat outside my ankle started hurting for no apparent reason. It is one spot and the pain comes and hurts for a few seconds, then it pauses and comes again. I have no idea why it started hurting but I wish it would stop. I applied some KT tape, and I have prayed for the pain to stop.

Today I need to go the grocery store and get some items, possibly after dropping Akex off at school. I have some housework to do also so it will not be a day of relaxing.

I will stop for now have a good day and stay safe in all you do,

Don the Ford

March 22, 2026

Hello and good morning to one and all.

Let's see if we did anything yesterday: I did go get Alex and we went to the star coffee place for a drink and then headed back to the homestead where we laid out our plan for the day. The first plan was to mow the backyard and in preparation for that I removed the dog Poopa-Loopa from the backyard.

Alex got the mower ready and mowed the backyard as I did a couple other things such as reviewing the flowers in the hot house to see what we were going to do with them. I did sweep and blow the leaves and pollen off the back porch trying to make it look a little better.

Mowing trimming and cleaning the back porch completed, we headed out to the hot house to remove the potted plants. Several of the plants were taken to locations in the front yard or other places that they normally set, while several of them stayed out in the back near the greenhouse as they did not look good and I wanted them to perk up before I place them where people could see them.

We removed the battery from the riding mower as it is dead and each time we use the mower, Alex used a jumper to start it, so I'm going to buy a new battery for the riding mower.

The big job of the day was to wash the dog. My favorite wife has been complaining about the way the dog smells for some time. The day was warm enough for the washing, and it took two people to successfully wash that big ole dog. Tres does smell much better now.

We had decided to leave the front yard un-mowed until next week when we will mow it but we will raise the mower up about 1 inch allowing the grass to be taller which I believe makes the yard look better. Taller grass may hold more water in the ground from the sprinkler system.

All the work completed we did go into Waco and have some sandwiches for lunch. Lunch finished and we drove Alex back to his home and then we returned to our home where I took a short nap. Rest period was completed, my favorite wife and I went outside and sat for an hour, it was warm 91 degrees. The neighborhood was quiet, there wasn't much going on, one person was mowing in his yard everybody else seemed to be taking it easy.

Well, you see what we did yesterday and our plan for today is, well, I have no idea what we might do today. I guess I should stop for now and get ready to do nothing. We hope you have a good day and stay safe in all you do.

March 20, 2026

We are looking at another good warm morning here in Texas.

We have very little to report from yesterday's events, I did move the plumerias out of the garage and place them near the swing. I did not go to the shed to get the two-wheeler to move the heavy pots but I did have a way to move them without me carrying them. You will see in the photo that I have an ole office chair that I normally use when we sit outside, and it now has an additional use.

I did not do any weed removal from the flower beds yesterday as this ole body needed to rest from the previous day's work.

We sat outside for a couple hours yesterday, and we observed many jets flying over. We estimate that we saw about 25 jets flying to the south and only one flying to the north. There were a few small airplanes flying around too.

I did get to talk with the neighbors who live across the street as they were both out working in the yard. I guess everyone is starting to do their yard work.

I did have some time to work on my bible study yesterday and it seemed to go well. I am not a good student, but I do try.

I guess that is all for now, please have a good day and stay safe in all you do.

Thank the Lord for his blessings even if everything is not perfect.

March 19, 2026

Good morning from the Ole People here at the Fords homestead.

Yesterday I did go to the Star coffee place for a cup and when I got to the window and handed them my ole Gold card the computer screen went blank, he said he would go to the other computer and evidently it had failed as he came back and returned my Gold card and gave me the cup of coffee free. I did get Alex to school safely and on time then  arriving home from dropping Alex off at school I crawled into my ole recliner with my free coffee in hand, I took a nap.

When I woke up, we decided to go to the George restaurant for breakfast. We arrived 4 minutes before they stopped serving breakfast. We were able to get breakfast, but the service was bad and the food was good except for the toast which was as hard as a cracker, and we had no butter or jelly. They did not offer to refill the coffee cup. They were having a meeting with the servers in the next room which made service non-existent. Go early if you are having breakfast.

Back home I again took it easy for a while and then I decided to go outside and attempted to remove weeds and cleaned debris from three flower beds. I did use the knee pads, and they worked and I now have the trash can more than half full of debris, and I was tired.

I then watered the plants in the hot house and the black berry beds. While at the #3 berry bed I noticed one plant which is a thornless plant, it has about 5 blooms. I did not see any blooms on any of the other plants.

I noticed how dry the ground is, so I activated the lawn sprinkler system. All the outside work done I did my housework but not my bible study homework.

My favorite wife and I sat outside yesterday afternoon and enjoyed the nice weather and quiet neighborhood. We had no friends to drop by, so our conversations were few.

I cooked supper for my favorite wife using the microwave, and a TV dinner. I had a sandwich and soup.

Well, I need to stop and get started so I will wish you a good day and pray that we all stay safe in all we do.

March 18, 2026

Good almost warm morning. Well, it isn't 30 degrees this morning, so it is almost warm.

I have a photo or two from yesterday and one was interesting to me but maybe not to you. This is of a spot on our wall that I observed this morning as I was sitting there in my old recliner. I at first thought my wife had stuck something on the wall I thought why would she do that. I got up and started to go over there and the spot disappeared. I then realized that the spot was not something stuck on the wall but was a light being reflected to the wall.

Allow me to show you the photo please do not look at the fact that the wall has been made of paneling that was placed there many years in the past.

The spot is like a rainbow in color and was reflected from the sunlight yesterday morning. The sun was shining on the front door and the peephole in the door that is there to see who is at the door without opening the door was projecting the light to the wall about 30 feet from the door. I had never seen anything like that before.

I Have a second photo which was taken as I was going to get a cup of coffee at the star coffee place before picking Alex up and taking him to school. The photo is of an early morning sunrise off in the distance. It was much prettier in real life than it is in the photo but I wanted to share it with you anyway.

I picked up sticks from the front yard yesterday afternoon. I also ventured to the back 40 to see if there were any sticks there that needed to be removed and I also removed some Poopa-Loopa. Yes, I did take the fallen antenna and carry it out to the fence as it is about 20 feet long. I attached it to the fence which gets it out of my way until I decide what I want to do with it.

I need to change the oil in the mower, and I need to get a battery for it. Wow, more work for an ole person who doesn't want to work. My favorite wife is doing more on her own now so I guess I can start doing more things outside, "darn it".

Well, I will attempt to stop for now, please have a good day and be safe in all you do. Let us all be nice to someone today and possibly someone will be nice to us. Let's all pray for each other!

March 17, 2026

We are having another good cold morning. I like the heated seats in the Fords new Chevy on these cold days.

Let us see if anything occurred yesterday: I was able to get Alex to school on time and in a safe mode. Prior to picking him up I did get myself a cup of coffee at the star coffee shop. Back at home I took it easy before I started my morning vacuuming the floors and other housework.

Yesterday I did receive a check from the car dealer for the excess amount that we had paid back when we bought the new car. Later that morning I ventured out and went to the bank and cashed the check and after that I went to the chicken place and got us some chicken for lunch which was pretty good.

Speaking of food, our son David brought us some homemade vegetable soup for supper last night. Wow, homemade is very good!

I did take the time to clean all the leaves out of the garage that the wind had been blowing in for the last few days and then I moved the plumerias back into the garage because of the freezing weather last night. I will wait a day or so and then move them back outside hopefully spring has sprung. That one big pot weighs close to 70 pounds.

I had gone into the kitchen to get a drink of water, and I looked out the window and saw something that I had not expected to see. I believe I had noted in a previous post that I had an antenna that was about to fall and I needed to have somebody to get it down. Well, part of it came down by itself and luckily it did not hit anything other than the ground. I do have a photo of the antenna on the ground and the last part that is still up on there.

I was concerned that it would fall on our pot hound Tres or hit the roof, but it did not. There were several little dead branches downed in the front yard due to the wind yesterday. I will wait for a warm day to remove these twigs.

My favorite wife worked on some easter decorations yesterday which kept her busy most of last night.

I did go to Bible study last night and as always it was interesting, but it was cold going and cold coming home. It's hard to believe that Monday had a temperature was 92° which was a record high for that day, and then last night it was down to 27degrees freezing wow.

Today's events: we will attempt to stay warm as we transport Alex to school. We have no other big plans for the day.

I will attempt to stop for now, we hope you have a good day and that everyone stays safe in all we do.

March 16, 2026

Good morning on this cold and windy day.

Yesterday's workload and rest time: I started off by removing the sheets from the bed as I was preparing to wash the clothes. I took the clothes and bed sheets to the washing machine. Yes, I divide them out by whites and then colored things.

The washing started so I decided to go and get a cup of real coffee. Sometimes it feels good just to get out and drive around for a while. Back at home I was allowed to vacuum the floors. Floors finished I decided to read some more from my story, and since it was so windy, I stayed inside to read. I read a couple chapters, and I was very sleepy so I took a short nap.

Later in the afternoon we sat outside. the wind was blowing like crazy. We have a ham radio antenna that needs to be removed, it has an ole antenna that is flopping around in the wind and it is about 35 feet high. No way would I try to climb that thing, so I need to find someone to remove the ole antenna and tower.

This morning, I took Alex to school, and I got him there safely and it is still cold but not too windy. The cold weather that is coming tonight might affect some flowers that have bloomed.

The red rose has bloomed and there are white and pink roses that have bloomed. We are not sure if we will get down to a real freeze or not tonight, so I will need to bring the plants into the garage this afternoon.

I will stop for now, we hope everyone has a good and safe day, please be nice to someone and they will be nice to you.
