Good Friday morning to one and all, we hope the day turns out well for all. They are calling for rain and storms here today, tonight and tomorrow, we hope everyone enjoys the rain and no one has a storm or flood.
Let us look at yesterday: the day started off normal, I did get a cup of coffee at the star coffee place and the drive through took about 8 minutes. With coffee in hand, I headed to get Alex and take him to school. We always have good conversations on the way to school, and I did get him there on time and in a safe manner.
I made it home and with the rest of the cup of coffee in hand, I headed for the Ford's ole recliner for a rest period. I had just got comfortable in the recliner when my phone rang, it was our son Dave. He was sitting outside at work and wanted to know if I had time to take him to the doctor. He explained that he had dropped a log on to his toe while working at his home and it was swelling and hurting.
I dragged my ole body out of the Ford's ole recliner and staggered out to the Ford's ole Chevy. On the way to get Dave, I stopped at the teller machine and got our weekly stipend. Dave was waiting in front of the building. We headed to the doctor's office, where Dave went in and I stayed out in the truck. The monitor in the truck that shows what radio channel you have on, or the view from the backup camera was messing up. It was going through radio channels but did not stay on anyone. I sat there messing with it while Dave was with the doctor.
After about an hour and a half Dave texted, telling me what they were doing. I texted him back saying I was going to get a cup of coffee, and I might not be parked in the same spot when he came out.
I drove to the coffee shot for a cup and then drove back to the Doctors office, where I was able to park in the same parking spot. Dave came out a little later and I drove him to his house.
Back at home my morning was finished, it was now noon, and I had not had lunch. I was able to get back into the ole recliner, but the second cup of coffee influenced me, I was not sleepy. I sat there trying to rest but rest failed.
I decided to work on my bible study homework. It took a while, but I think I got it done.
It is difficult when an old person's normal routine gets changed, but my favorite wife and I did go outside and enjoy the happy time late in the afternoon, as the weather was nice but it was still in the mid-80s.
Today's possible event: I do not need to take Alex to school, I do not need to go anywhere, I might work on a new bird house when my favorite wife goes into town.
Well, it is time to stop so I will wish you a good day and please stay safe in all you do.
Don the Ford
