                This is the last day of this year, so we wish you a happy new year. My sister Wilda was born on December 31, many years ago. Can you imagine having a birthday celebration with Christmas and the New Year's celebration at the same time you were born.   All that said, we wish you a good morning and a happy day.

                We had another cool weather day yesterday and the sun was shining so the greenhouse was very warm in the 90s.

                I sneaked away from the homestead for a few minutes yesterday to get a cup of coffee. We did have a visit from a rehab lady yesterday morning reviewing how my favorite wife is doing, and we got some suggestions to improve her recovery.

                The only work I did was to pick up sticks from the front yard as I was tired of doing nothing in the house. When it is cold outside, we stay inside and that means very little to do. It is supposed to warm up in a day or two and then I might do some outside work.

                My favorite wife has a doctor's appointment today so we have traded vehicles with Dave so I can get my favorite wife to the doctor's office. We have doctors' appointments on the 5th and the 6th of January. Maybe I should buy a new smaller vehicle so I can transport my favorite wife and not need to borrow a car.

                Thinking about doctor's appointments, the flu is now spreading again, and I think we should be wearing masks again and staying away from others as much as possible.

                I went to the Chicken Salad store to get our supper. We both like their salad and we do not need to cook anything or wash any dishes after eating the Chicken salad.  

                If you have any adult beverages this evening, stay home and enjoy them, do not drive after drinking!

The temp outside is freezing at this time and even though it is cold outside, we are still wishing you a good morning. We hope you have warm and pleasant day.

                Today's plans: wow, nothing to say here.

                Yesterday's activities: I went to the store for a few items, but I could not find the decaf coffee that I wanted (Eight O'clock decaf). The decaf coffee I bought is strong and my favorite wife don't like it .

The cleaning lady did come to the homestead, and we are clean, well, the house is now clean, maybe I still need to be cleaned.

                Later yesterday afternoon I was allowed to take the ornaments off the Christmas tree and put them away, then I dismantle the tree and put it out in the garage. The tree consists of three parts, and all those parts are in the Fords ole Dodge van which is in the garage. The van has several things inside it as it is not being used since my favorite wife can't drive.  I have considered trading the van and getting a small SUV which would be easier for my wife to get in and out while having this broken leg. The ole van is 12 years old and it only has about 35,000 miles on it.

                I am tired of entering data so I will stop for now and wish you a good safe day.

                It is a cold winter morning here in Hewitt Texas, we now believe winter has finally come. 36 degrees is what Alexa is presenting and our personal thermometer indicates 38 degrees.

Even though it is near freezing we want to wish you a good morning and a better day.

                Nothing new to report here at the Homestead, we did sit outside yesterday, and there were two drones flying over. I did get a short video, and I will try to post in this article.

                 I do need to go to the store today and get a couple items, I guess I should have a list of items, other than that nothing planned to do.

If memory serves me, and it often does not, the cleaning lady is supposed to be here today bit she hasn't called to say she is or is not coming.

Wow that is short even for me. Have a good day and please stay safe in all you do.

            We seem to be having another good warm morning, and tonight we are supposed to start cooling down. We are supposed to have winter for a couple of days then back to warm weather.

            I brought the laptop to the fords ole recliner this morning and started this post and that is when I learned that I was sleepy. After a short time, I decided to just put the computer down and take a nap. I dozed off and when I woke up, I was still sleepy. I then remembered that I had not had coffee with some caffeine in it. So half-awake, I decided to go to the coffee place and get a cup of strong coffee. I did get the coffee, and I did return home and I am attempting to create this article.

Yesterday morning started with a cup of coffee from the star coffee place, and I also purchased a breakfast burrito which I shared with my favorite wife.  

         Back home after eating the burrito and a short rest I was allowed to start washing clothes. I had 3 loads of things to wash and dry, and I was able to complete the task without damaging anything.

In an effort to recover from the Christmas events I have moved a couple items back into their normal locations, these items were moved so we could get a wheelchair to the table. Speaking of the table I was also allowed to remove the leaf and place it under a bed.

I had leftovers for lunch yesterday, and speaking of lunch what will we do today. Will I be allowed to go to the Cracker store and get lunch or will we just starve. We haven't discussed that topic yet and we do have some gift cards for the cracker store. I think my favorite wife might allow me to go to the cracker store. Then we must make decisions as to what we might want to eat. Wow, ole people always need to make decisions.    

     Yesterday afternoon we sat outside in 79° temperature, enjoying the quiet afternoon. It did seem to be unusually quiet until our neighbor drove by and our dog Tres started barking. Tres barks every time this pick up goes by, occasionally this pickup has a couple small dogs that bark at our dog Tres, and of course Tres has to bark back.

 I did not see any Drones fly over yesterday.

            I did look up and saw half a moon above the tree, so I thought I would get a photo for my enjoyment.

            Well, I guess the coffee has worked as I am still awake. I have noticed that the TV is on and I am not watching the TV, but I am hearing what is going on. Wow, I can do two things at once?

            I guess I should stop and see if I can find something that I want to do or possibly need to do. There are many things that need to be done if I could just get into the mood. We hope you all have a good day and that everyone stays safe in all we do.

 Yesterday morning I headed out to the store to get some vitamins for my favorite wife and some breakfast sandwiches for myself. While I was out, I did get a cup of coffee from the star coffee place. One of my Christmas presents was a gift card for the Star coffee place which made it easy for me to have a real cup and not worry about where I would get the funding. We also got gift cards for the Cracker store.

I was able to work on some of the bible study homework yesterday morning before I headed outside to water the plants in the greenhouse. Actually, I watered the black berry beds before going to the greenhouse. Before going outside, I checked the temp outside and in the green house. It was 83 degrees when I headed outside and it was 106 in the greenhouse, so I did not hurry to get inside the greenhouse.

I did observe a pink rose as I was watering, so I got a photo just for you.

                While I was outside watering I observed several Drones flying over, I assume they were delivering items from Amazon. I saw one Drone go over very slowly and it stopped a couple houses away. The drone then went down out of sight. A few seconds later it came back up and then headed back to where it came from. I did not get a photo or video, but I did see 7 drones flying over.

                I did get inside the hot green house (100 plus degrees) and water the flowers. I was sweating while inside the house. There are flowers blooming in the green house and I do have a photo.

                I decided to attempt to remove the Poopa-Loopa from the back 40 and during this removal process I found some mushrooms.

Now I am not sure if these are good or bad mushrooms, so I did not touch them.

Later in the afternoon we decided to sit outside as it was very warm. I have a photo of a Buzzard that was sitting on the ole ham radio antenna.

                We did not have any friends to drop by yesterday afternoon, so it was a very quiet neighborhood.

                We did get some gift cards to several places but not to the Georges restaurant and that is where I went to get carryout yesterday evening, so I had to pay with my own money. We are thankful for all the gifts we received and one of them is the Peppermint candy that I get every year, big thank you for the peppermints.

                This morning: I have already left the homestead, and I purchased a cup of coffee from the Star coffee place and I also purchased a breakfast burrito which I shared with my favorite wife. I need to get going as I do have things to do such as washing some clothes.

                Good morning from us here in Hewitt to you all, we hope your day is very pleasant and filled with friends and happiness.

                Yesterday was supposed to have been Christmas but it sure did not seem like Christmas. Yes, we had the family here with lots of good food and pleasant conversations. The weather just did not seem like Christmas, as it was very warm. Another part of this is that there was really no presents under the tree to be opened since my wife couldn't do any shopping this year and I am not a good shopper. We did give money instead of presents so that each person could go buy their own present.

                In the afternoon when family had left friends came over and we all sat outside on the driveway talking about this and that. Again, the weather was warm enough that we could set outside and that just does not seem like Christmas Day.

Today's events do nothing other than go to the store and get some vitamin C which my wife takes daily and that's about it I have no other big plans for the day.

                Looking at the security camera, I see the swing near the driveway swinging back and forth. There's nobody in it but if you look really close, I can see Molly, the cat has jumped up in it and when she jumps in the swing naturally swings back and forth.

Speaking of Molly, she seems to like to go to the Manger scene and scratch on the Manger and then she likes to jump up on top of it and stand there and look around like is there anybody coming, or am I boss of this area. Molly is kind of an oddball cat.

                Well, I guess that's about it for now I will stop and go get started we hope you have an excellent day and please stay safe in all you do.

        Merry Christmas

            It is finally here, that day that some of you have been excited about while others were saying, I have too much to do or I forgot...

            We here at the Ford's homestead have had a very nice Christmas eve and are looking forward to an excellent Christmas day. The snacks proceeding the Tamales were very good and the Tamales were excellent. There are Cookies and Fudge and other sweet treats. There will be even more good food today.

            Yes, the family was here yesterday and will be here today.

            Gabi's fiancé Brice had decorated the car with Christmas lights and I have a photo,

            I think it can be seen from a mile away.

            Well, I need to get a cup of coffee and start doing nothing.

            We hope you have a good Christmas day and that we all not only stay safe in all we do but remember the original meaning of Christmas.

                It is Christmas Eve and we want to wish you a good morning and happy day. We had another warm day yesterday and we set another record high 82 degrees, the ole record was set back in 1964. We did get a few things done here at the Homestead.

                Let's see if we can review what happened yesterday. I decided early in the morning to go to the Star coffee place for a cup, and on the way back home I stopped at the burrito place and got a breakfast burrito which I cut in half and shared with my favorite wife. I was able to get a short nap before the lady arrived to go through the exercises with my favorite wife.

                We did not do much after the workout other than watch TV, until a friend came and visited for a while. My favorite wife received a gift and some homemade fudge, and it is good! Our friend who has recently retired also gave my favorite wife a cushion that is made for people with sciatic nerve pain. This friend had two of the cushions so the one she had at work was given to my favorite wife. When my favorite wife sat on it, she said it actually felt good and took away pain.

                My favorite wife used the machine that she puts her feet on, and it moves her feet, legs and hips. This helps her not to get stiff and keeps the joints moving as she is sitting on her chair.

                We decide that the Tres needed to be washed so I got my favorite grandson Alex, to come over and help me wash the dog. After the wash job we went to the front yard and again cleaned the leaves out of the yard. As you see in the photo there were again many leaves on the yard.

        The yard once again looks good, after Alex finished using the mower to vacuum it, and I do have a photo.

                The wind would gust and blow the leaves all around. The neighbor's yards are full of those leaves, but we can't do anything about that. Most of the leaves from our trees have fallen. I did see an unusual plant while we were working, I assume it is a weed, and I have a photo.

                I went to the drive through to get some food for supper, and we both enjoyed our supper.

                Today being Christmas Eve our families are supposed to come to our house. We have for many years had snacks to eat and we would open presents on Christmas Eve, we plan to continue that. Then on Christmas Day we would all again be together for a meal and conversations. This year the families will provide the food and do all the cooking as my favorite wife is incapacitated.

                Good morning to all, we had a warm day yesterday. My favorite wife and I both sat outside yesterday, we went out about 1:00pm and stayed out there for almost 2 hours. The neighborhood was quiet and very few vehicles drove by. We did hear some crows off in the distance, but we did not see them. We set a record high for the day; it was 79 degrees yesterday.

Speaking of birds, I have noticed that in the back 40, under some of the bird houses, there is a lot of debris that I believe came from the bird houses. I assume a bird is cleaning the house out and then building new nests.   

I assume you have heard about drones delivering items from Amazon. Well, there is an Amazon distribution center in Waco, and they are using drones to deliver some items. We occasionally see or hear a drone fly over while we are sitting outside. Yesterday a neighbor told me that he had received an item that was delivered by drone and he wanted to know if my security cameras would have captured the delivery. I checked my cameras but the area where the drone flew and dropped the package was in an area at their house where my security cameras can't see. I have wanted to see one of these deliveries.

 I did go to a store to buy items; I found most of the items I wanted but I did not get the decaf coffee which I had purchased there in the past. Its name is Eight O'clock, and it is coffee which my favorite wife likes. There were other items I did not find.

            The yard is now covered with leaves again, and the street is also practically covered on our side. A neighbor across the street was able to remove the leaves from his curb, but I have the feeling the wind will bring him more leaves.

                Good morning, we hope you are ready for Christmas as it is this Thursday. When you are enjoying food and gifts with family and friends, also consider the true meaning of Christmas.  

                Sundays events: I prepared a wonderful meal for my favorite wife using the microwave, yes, I do know how to put things in the microwave and then turn it on. Actually, some of the microwave items are good.

                I turned the lawn sprinkler system on as the yard and flowers needed some water. I should note that the yard is almost covered again with leaves so it doesn't seem as if Alex and I did any work removing the leaves Saturday. The trees will soon be done dropping the leaves, I hope.     

After eating I decided I should wash some clothes, and yes, I now know how to use the washing machine and the dryer. I had three small loads of clothes, and they were all washed and dried.

Washing completed, I decided to get the trike out and see if it still worked. I rode it up and down the street a couple times and one time through the front yard. The trike just sits in the garage, and we almost never ride it. It stays in the garage, and I had moved it out of the way as I was looking for an item. I did not find what I was looking for, so, that is when I decided to take it for a short ride.

I did enjoy reading from the bible for a while and I was able to get a nap or two in during the day. Well, I guess I should stop for now and we hope you have a good day and stay safe in all you do.

                Good Sunday morning, we hope you had a good night and that you will have a better day even though it is the first day of winter.  

                Let's see what happened yesterday. My favorite wife and I did get up on time, and I went to get breakfast burritos, as noted in the previous post. The burritos are nice size so we cut the burrito in half, and she takes half and I am allowed to have the other half. We bought two so I cut the other one in half and took half for Alex to eat as we were driving back to our homestead. I kept the last half for my lunch later Saturday.

I went to get Alex at about 9:00am and he ate the burrito. We got drinks, and Alex explained that he needed to get his weight down to 200 pounds before he could register for the Marines. I suggested that in the future he should drink coffee instead of the drink he usually gets as it is a sweet drink with whipped cream on top.  

Back at home we each picked up a leaf blower and started moving leaves from the driveway to the front yard. After a short time, Alex went to the shed and brought the mower to the front yard where he began vacuuming the leaves from the yard.  I continued blowing the leaves from the flower beds onto the yard and he vacuumed.

When we finished our work, the yard looked good but there were a lot of leaves on the street and in neighbor's yards. Working over we started for Alex's house, but I deviated and went to the George restaurant where I found a parking space close to the door. I ordered a to go lunch for my favorite wife. It took a few minutes to get it and then we headed for Alex's house.

Back at home my favorite wife started eating the salad. The salad had onions in it and the front room smelled like onions. The smell did not take away from the taste of the salad.

A friend who my wife refers to as one of her sisters came for a visit and stayed for a while. It is nice to have friends drop by. My favorite wife received a gift, photo to follow.

About 3:00pm we went outside and sat on the driveway, my favorite wife in her wheelchair and I on a chair with rollers. We enjoyed the quiet and warm afternoon, 78 degrees. I did get up from my chair and trimmed a bush that was near to where we were sitting. Working while I was resting, is that possible?

Another friend came and visited for a while, and we had a bunch of conversations mostly about doctors and acks and pains.

Spring has sprung fall as fail winters here, and the leaves have all fallen off the tree, photo to follow.

                I would like to say good morning, but it isn't morning when I am writing this. Yep it is evening as I am sitting here in the Ford's ole recliner with the laptop on my lap. Wow, I guess that is why they call them laptops.

                I did almost nothing yesterday as I sat around here at the house. I did not even leave the house to get a cup of coffee. I did go out and water the plants in the greenhouse, and yes, I usually refer to it as a hot house. Now that I am thinking about it, it was over 90 degrees in the greenhouse today. There are plants that are still blooming in the greenhouse.

                I also watered the black berry plants as they needed it. I might turn the lawn sprinklers on this weekend just to give the yard some water. After all that work I picked up sticks out of the front yard as Alex, and I plan to attempt to remove the leaves if it isn't too windy today.

                A couple friends were supposed to drop by today, but they did not. A friend who had said she would not come today, came by and visited for a while.

                I did some work on the homework for bible study yesterday. Our next meeting will be January 15th; we are on Christmas break. The school kids are now on a break also.

                One of our friends has retired this week; she said she is looking forward to being unemployed. I wonder if she has thought that she will have to put up with I mean be with her husband as he is retired too.

                Today (aka Saturday morning): I have gone to get breakfast burritos for me and my favorite wife, and they were good. I do need to get Alex to come to our house in a little while and we will do some yard work.

                Well, we have had another cool night here in Hewitt Texas, but we still want to wish you a good morning and an even better day. We are supposed to warm up today, so the cold is not yet here to stay.

                Spring has sprung Fall has fell, and winter is trying to get here. Speaking of fall and things falling, when I returned from taking Alex to school yesterday morning as I pulled into the driveway, I noticed a lady walking her two small dogs coming up the street. I got out of the Fords ole Chevy and walked out to the street with my phone in hand. The lady became close and said to me, "your yard is showing what fall should look like". I said, "I would get my grandson to come over and remove them", and she said, "good luck on that". Photo to follow.

                It appears that about half of the leaves are now on the ground or the street. The wind is welcome to remove then by blowing them into the neighbor's yard but, I think as usual we will be the ones to remove the leaves. Below you may see a second photo of the leaves and the dog Tres.

My favorite wife and I sat outside for a while yesterday afternoon and the leaves were falling on us, but the weather was warm and there was a little breeze.

                I have another photo to present to you, and it is of a lamp that is in my office. This lamp has to do with one of the old Christmas TV movies.

My friend and neighbor have one in the window of his man cave, so that encouraged me to get mine out and present it to anyone who comes in my office (and online).

I needed to go to the hair stylists and get my hair cut. The person who cut my hair was a male, and he was wearing a hat which I thought was not nice and was kind of odd. I like the ladies to cut my hair as they seem to be more friendly, but they all seem to do a good job. I also got a new prescription for my wife to help with her urinary infection.

After sitting outside for a while yesterday afternoon, I went to the store and got a couple items that my favorite wife wanted (aka needed) to get. It is crazy how high the price of everything is. On the way home I stopped at the chicken salad store and got a couple salads for our supper. They cost a little more than usual and when I got home, I checked the food and they both had two scoops of chicken salad in the container, so twice as much salad to eat.

                Today I do not need to take Alex to school, as his dad starts a vacation and it is his mother's normal day off so they will take and get him from school, and I guess I will just stay at home and do nothing.

                Wow, nothing for an ole person to do! I am stopping for now. We hope you have a good day and that we all stay safe in all we do, as we pray for others. The Lord will bless you when you pray for others!
