I would say this is a good morning after the record high temp we had yesterday, it was 87 degrees, are we sure it is winter?
My favorite wife and I sat outside for quite a while yesterday afternoon, heck I even moved into the shade as it was very hot with the sun shining on me. This morning it is 45 degrees outside and they say it will only get up to the 60s today.
Big plans for today will be to stay at home and do as little as possible. I could address the leaves in the front yard today but…
I observed our neighbor in his front yard working with his leaves yesterday. He had a huge pile of leaves raked up and I assume he was putting them in bags. I noticed this morning as I was returning from getting a breakfast burrito (more on that later) that there were still leaves in several piles on the neighbor’s yard. He had told me that he was going to wait until all the leaves had fallen from his tree before he started working the leaves, he did not want to rake the leaves twice, I guess he changed his mind as the tree still has some leaves in it.
Now to the breakfast burrito, I did venture forth from the Ford’s warm homestead this morning to get a couple burritos. My favorite wife was still in bed when I left the homestead but she was awake when I returned. The burrito was excellent, the hot sauce not only burned my mouth, it caused my nose to run, it is good hot sauce.
Short story about leaves in our back 40: this story began yesterday when I decided to get out of the Ford’s ole recliner and go out to the back 40 in an attempt to patch the back tire on the riding mower. The last time we use the mower we found the tire had a tack in it, and when I pulled the tack out the air came out, so I had put the tack back in and Alex was able to use the mower to mow the back 40. I had purchased a kit to plug the hole in the tire but I had never plugged a tire before, so I was learning.
Process: remove the tack, use the device to make the hole larger and rough, put the plugging material (sticky rubber) on to the second device, use the second device to push the sticky rubber into the hole.
I do not know if I got it in right or not, but I did air the tire up and I rode around in the back 40 for a while. While I was riding around, I had the mower blade turning, (blowing air out on to the yard) and I was able to make a few piles of leaves. Next time we use the mower we will know if the patch worked or not. The kit came with a razor blade to cut the sticky rubber plug material, and I did cut my finger. I didn’t cry this time but I did put a band aid on the finger. If the weather stays nice today, I might work on getting the leaves out of the front flower beds today.
I do need to go to the bank this morning, I think they close at noon today since this is New Years Eve. Well, I guess I will stop for now, we hope you have a good day and please stay safe in all you do, and don’t celebrate too much!
Celebrate carefully,
Happy New year!

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
