December 30, 2024

It is another good morning here at the Ford’s homestead. We are a couple days away from the coming change when I will need to enter 2025 instead of 2024 on the dates for these posting.

Let’s see if anything happened yesterday; We did go to lunch and the Pot Roast was excellent. The food was free as we had a gift card to the Cracker store, so we did not need to pay anything except the tip. We had the same server that we had last week and the service was very good.

Back at home, I did almost nothing for a while, oh I did take a nap. Once I had awoke from my period of sleep, I proceeded out into the back 40 with the intent to water the flowers in the hot house. When I opened the door, I found it way too hot for me inside the hot house so I left the door open and decided to pick up the sticks that had fallen from the tree during the rain and wind we have had.

There seemed to be sticks everywhere and I do mean a lot of them. There are a couple dead limbs in the tree and they drop these small dead limbs when the wind blows. I had the Ford’s ole red wagon full of limbs, and I do mean full. Oh, I should note, the Ford’s ole red wagon is so old that it isn’t red anymore, heck it isn’t even a pale pink.

Once the hot house had a chance to cool down, I went in and water the plants. Both of the Christmas cactuses are blooming with pretty red blooms. There are so many plants in the house that it is difficult to do the watering.

While I was removing the sticks I noticed that I need to also remove the Poopa-Loopa from the back 40. There was a lot of the Poopa-Loopa and I mean a lot. I had gone through one area and was heading for a different area when I thought, no matter how well you do at finding the Poopa-Loopa, there is always some that I will miss, and as soon as I had thought that there was a pile that I had missed.

My favorite wife and I sat outside yesterday afternoon from about 2:30 to 4:00pm enjoying the wonderful weather. It was 70 degrees; the sun was shining and there was no wind blowing. We were waiting for a friend to drop by as my favorite wife had some cookies and candy that she had made for them. The friend got here about 4:00pm and I received a call from my sister in Missouri at the same time.

I had a good conversation with my sister and my favorite wife had a good conversation with our friend.

The kids are out of school this week so I will not be delivering or picking them up from school. wow, nothing to do again today. We are supposed to hit 82 degrees this afternoon so I assume we will be sitting outside for a while. The leaves in the yard are still damp so I will not be attempting to remove any of them. We will turn off the outside decorations on the New Years Day.

Wow, another do-nothing day. I will attempt to stop for now we hope you all have a good day and that everyone stays safe in all we do.

Almost there “2025”.

Senior ole person who should find something to do, but will he, Don the Ford

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
