December 20, 2024

Good cold morning to you and the rest of the non-readers, we hope your day is going well. it is still dark as I start this note, and it is 40 degrees outside. I have learned from the local TV weather person that winter starts tomorrow.

What did the Don do yesterday; whatever he did has caused his back to be hurting today. After my normal duties of moving the grand kids to and from school safely, I did work out in the yard a little. I believe I had indicated that I would water the plants in the hot house, and I did do that. I have a photo of a Christmas cactus that has started blooming in the hot house.

Since I was in the back 40, I did observe that there were several small limbs all around the yard, caused by the heavy winds a couple days ago. Yes, I did remove said limbs from the back 40.

I then decided to see what I could do to the leaves in the front yard prior to our yard man Alex coming over Saturday and helping remove the leaves. I raked a few leaves from around the swing where we sit in the afternoon and move them to the front yard. I did get most of the leaves that were in the street, out of the street and into the front yard. While I was doing that the neighbor from across the street told me that we would have winds up to 30 mph Friday, so the leaves I have piled up may get spread out again.

All that work completed; we did sit outside for a while before time to go to supper. Food was good and service was also good even though there were a lot of people there.

I need to get out of here and go get the grandkids so I will wish you a happy Friday and hope that we all stay safe in all we do today.

Christmas cactus!

Senior ole person who thinks the cactus might be telling us to get ready, Don the Ford

May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
