Well, it is still cold in Hewitt, but it is not snowing like it is up north, so I will wish each of you a good morning and a good day.
There were a couple friends drop by yesterday, the first lady said she was checking on us because she had not seen us at all this month, then she noted that yesterday was the first day of the month (joke). The other lady came over later and we all sat outside for a while since the afternoon weather was kind of warm.
I do have a selfie that was taken yesterday afternoon while I was resting from all the non-workload of the day.
You are correct, that is a handsome senior person sitting on the swing.
We did go to the cracker store for breakfast yesterday, the food and service was good. My favorite wife is trying to get all the decorations in the house situated and or put away. We still have empty boxes and some decorations in the garage, we need to determine if we are done and if so, I need to get them back into the shed. Wow, more work for an ole senior person.
Speaking of Christmas decorations, people use to place their Christmas trees in front of the window at the front of their house so the neighbors could see their tree, but that don’t happen too often anymore. Also, in the olden days you could purchase a Christmas tree for $3.99 at various places. Mom and Dad would go to the gas station that was located near the ole Mississippi bridge to get their tree. I saw a real tree at the grocery store the other day and the price was $180.00.
I need to get going and get the grandkids off to school, yep school is back in session, so I am again allowed to deliver the kids each morning. I call Alex each morning about 7:25 to be sure they are awake; he did not answer this morning. I then called Gabi, and she did not answer. I again called Alex and still no answer, I then called Gabi again and this time she answered, and she sounded as if she was still in bed asleep. Alex called me after I spoke with Gabi, and he was then awake.
I am back; and it is cold outside, they both overslept. I had the heater on in the truck and it felt good during the delivery of the grandkids. I need to get over to Daves house and pick up the tables and chairs we had taken over for the Thanksgiving meal. I might do it this afternoon if Dave gets off work on time, work schedules after holidays get kind of odd. I do have bible study tonight and that will be considered when determining whether to pick up items this afternoon or not.
Well, I wish I had something interesting to tell you, but I don’t, so I will just say have a good day and be safe in all you do.
Bah humbug.
Senior ole person who wants nothing for Christmas, Don the Ford
May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
