We are almost there, are you ready? Well even if you are not ready, I want to wish you a good morning.
We went out to lunch Sunday and it was good, we had pot roast. The meat was tender and everything was good, service was also very good. Eating lunch reminded me of something that Alex had pointed out Saturday when we were having lunch at the sandwich store. He said, “the Ford curse is here”, and he pointed at my shirt which had some food on it. Now the Ford curse seems to be a real thing, any time a Ford is eating, someone will get food on their clothes, and you don’t have the be a Ford to be cursed, just eating with the Fords. Oh, I should also say, the curse got Alex also, he got food on his shirt too.
Sunday afternoon: my favorite wife and I did sit outside for a while as the weather was nice. The neighbors were mowing their yards, basically removing the leaves from the yards, and we assume, attempting to keep up with the Fords since we had our yard cleared the day before. I observed the lady sweeping the drive way with a push broom and as she was sweeping, I could see leaves blowing onto the drive. It seemed as if the weather was against her, and I don’t know if she did not see the leaves or did not care.
Speaking of leaves, they are falling in our yard but not as bad as before, I may be able to manage them without the yard man Alex.
We have a problem with a string of Christmas lights. These lights are on the ground around the flower beds. The light strand is about 50 feet long and a part about 10 feet long is not working. I found a light was missing, not just the bulb but the socket the bulb is in. We may have damaged the strand when we were using the string trimmer. If it isn’t raining today (Monday) I may try to get Alex over here to remove and replace the strand of lights. He installed them, so he knows how to do it, and I have an extra string of lights in the shed, if I can find them and if it doesn’t rain today. We will wait and see if it is going to rain and if not, we may attempt a reinstall.
Different topic: the leaves are still falling and the neighbor across the street has said they were going to have their red oak tree cut down. Now this is a very good-looking tree, but they say it doesn’t provide any shade for the house, just the driveway, and it drops the leaves in the winter along with the acorns. They said, “the leaves and acorns are too much work”, so they will have the tree removed. It is a really good-looking tree, but if they don’t want it, then it is theirs and they can have it removed.
- Different topic; It was the night before Christmas,
- when all through the house,
- every creature was stirring, even the mouse,
- the stockings were not hung by the chimney with care,
- they were on our feet keeping our feet warm
Wow, where did that come from. Well school is out and I don’t need to get the grand kids this morning so I again have nothing to do. I just looked at one of the security monitors and there are a bunch of leaves on the front porch and walk way, more work for an ole person.
I will stop for now and say we hope you have a good day while we all stay safe in all we do.
December 23, 24, 25!
Senior ole person who thinks he is ready, but can’t remember if he is, Don the Ford
May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
