                We wish you a late good morning from the Ford homestead. What do I mean by a late good morning, it is a little after 10 AM before I start this soon to be blog journal.

                The morning started out well, I woke up early let the dog out, I went and got me a cup of homemade coffee, sat around on the chair watching the so-called local news which really doesn't have any news in it. After about 15 or 20 minutes doing nothing, I got up and started my morning work.

                Morning work starts out by getting my clothes on and I try to do that in a quiet mode as my favorite wife is still in bed sleeping. When I finished getting dressed, I then went over to the bed and helped my wife wake up. Yes, she was able to use a Walker and walk into the front room and get into her old chair. We did not do the rehab exercises this morning as the lady from rehab is coming to work with her later this morning. I was able to do some vacuuming, you know getting the dog hair up off the floor, then I headed out to get Alex and take him to school.

I learned on the way to school that Alex is going to have a date with his girlfriend on Saturday. I had asked him if he could come over to the house and do some work for me and he noted that he would have a date with his girlfriend on Saturday and that his mom's birthday was on Sunday. Now Alex is off from school this Friday and next Monday so I've said if either one of those days is really warm I want him to come over and help me wash the dog and then we will get some leaves out of the flower beds. He agreed to the possibility of some work.

Returning from dropping Alex off at school, when I arrived here at the house I was tired and sleepy. For some reason when you get up a little before 5:00 AM in the morning, at 8:00 AM I am actually sleepy so I took a nap. Nap completed my favorite wife wanted to take a shower.

And now you know how my day has started I have come in here to the office and I'm now sitting at my desk talking to my computer.

Yesterday's events: yesterday I was going to purchase a vehicle I went to the bank and was able to obtain the money needed. It was still early morning so I headed into Waco where I purchased a few sandwiches and some French fries for my favorite wife and I then I came home and we enjoyed a quick lunch.

The cleaning lady showed up and started her cleaning. About 12:30 I got into Ford's old van and headed over to the car dealer. We got there and I told him that I wanted to drive the vehicle since I had not yet driven it, so he went and brought the car up to the front and when I looked at it I said no that's not the one I wanted. The one I wanted had an adjustable seat on the passenger side which could be raised and lowered, and I thought that would be good for my spouse. He said OK and he went and got the vehicle that had the adjustable seat. We went for a short drive, and it drove really well I liked the vehicle we got back to the dealer went inside and the price they had given me was on the other vehicle not the one I really wanted. I was there about an hour finally I got tired of waiting and they said Well it would cost you another $5000 for this car than the one you want, and I told him no thank you and left.

I guess I will continue looking when I have time as I do want to get an easy to get in and out of vehicle for my favorite wife.

It was warm yesterday as a matter of fact it was hot and we sat outside on the driveway for a couple hours yesterday afternoon before I went to Bible study class.

Now you know what my day was like. You know everything except when I got home from Bible study my favorite wife and I did have some ice cream to eat.

                Good Sunday Morning to all. We hope everyone has a good and safe day, and that you can watch a football game. In years past we would get together with friends and family to watch a football game, nowadays we only care about the commercials. I usually turn the sound off when commercials come on, but during this football game I keep the sound on.

                Some of yesterday's events: my favorite wife got up early yesterday and by early, I mean she got up when I got up and that would be about 5:00am. Normally I have from 30 minutes to an hour to sit in the TV room with a cup of coffee before my favorite wife gets up. Yesterday morning she got out of bed and walked into the front room using a walker. Yes, I have a photo of my favorite wife and our favorite dog Tres.

                I was allowed to leave the homestead at about 6:00am to get a cup of coffee and a breakfast burrito, we shared the burrito.

                I was allowed to vacuum the floors as the dog tends to leave hair on the carpets. I vacuumed a couple areas twice.

                I decided I would go to the bank and see if I could get some money if I decided to purchase a new vehicle. When I arrived at the bank, I learned the drive through was open but not the building. Wow, I guess I can't buy anything if I can't get any money.

                I tried to call our car insurance company to discuss the possibility of a new vehicle, and I got no answer. I was sent to an answer machine that was full and could not take a message. I have decided to change insurance companies when our police becomes due again.

                After not having access to the inner parts of the bank, I decided I would go into town and get a couple of sandwiches for lunch and they were good.

                After eating I decided to get the van out and take all our personal items out of the van. The van can play CDs and DVDs. If you sit in the back of the van, you can watch a DVD on the screen that comes down from overhead. I had forgotten that we had that option. The book that came with the van is still in the glover box.

                I need to get into the safe and see if I can find the title of the van as I will need it if I purchase a new vehicle.

                I observed a neighbor running his lawn sprinklers yesterday, I assume he was making sure they were not damaged due to the freeze, I decided to do the same for our system. Our system seems to be working.  

                My favorite wife and I sat outside on the driveway yesterday afternoon. A neighbor came over and sat with us for a while and there were many conversations about family and walking for exercise.

                When we returned to the inner parts of the homestead, it was decided that I should go and get some chicken salad for supper, which I did. We also watched some of the three stooges' videos while we were eating.

                Today is Sunday: no big plans, I hope to get into the fords ole safe and attempt to fine the title to the van. I have no other plans for today so I might take a well-deserved nap.

                I am stopping for now so I will wish you a good and safe day along with hoping that you get to watch the game of the day.

                We wish you a good morning and we hope you have a good day.  It is Saturday and we hope you have a pleasant day, especially if you are not working.

                I went to a car dealer yesterday with the Fords ole Grand Caravan and they told me what they would give me as a trade in. Now I need to decide if I will make the deal or not. I would need to find the title for the van and come up with the money for the deal. I should check with the insurance company too. There are still things in the van that I need to get out like a blanket, grocery bags, who knows what is in the glove box, but I know it isn't gloves. There is a device under the seat to jump start a vehicle.  See there is too much work for an ole person.

                I should just take a nap and let things wait on this ole person.

               Good morning to you and all the other people too. We hope your day is outstanding and that we are all showing kindness to others.

                I do not need to get Alex and take him to school today, his mother will take him. Now I will still need to leave the homestead to get a cup of coffee from the star coffee place. Would you believe my favorite wife has suggested that I could stop at the burrito place and get a breakfast burrito after I get my coffee. In truth, she didn't, I did.

                Now I do have a problem with getting the burrito, my wife is still sleeping, and I will not leave the house while she is sleeping. So, me being hungry is ok and I will just wait until she is ready to get up.

I went to a car dealer yesterday driving the Grand Caravan to see what they say it is worth as a trade in. The salesperson I have talked to recently was busy with a customer, so I left. I should have made an appointment.

Leaving the first dealership, I went to another car dealer where I again looked at a vehicle. I like the vehicles at both dealers, and they have basically the same safety equipment. The salesperson at the second dealer asked a bunch of questions about the grand caravan and came up with a price if I was going to sell it to someone. He said I would get more out of selling the van than I would if I traded it in on a vehicle. When you trade a vehicle they pay you less than it is worth, then they sell it for what it is worth so they make a profit.

Leaving the second dealer I went back to the first car dealer. I did not see the salesperson, and no one came to me to see if they could help me. I then left that dealer and went to Wally World for some items. I got a couple items and some ice cream which my favorite wife had suggested I should get.

Back home that evening, I got a text from the sales manager at the first dealership wanting to know what they could do to get my business. I explained that I had been there twice hoping to get a possible value of the Grand Caravan and never got to talk with the salesperson. The sales manager wants to send someone to our house today to give us a possible value.

Well, I guess I should stop for now and see if I can get my wife out of bed as I need the burrito. We hope you have a good day and stay safe in all you do. Thank the Lord for all he does for you.

                Good morning to you we are having a cool start to our morning. The prognosticators are saying we will have a warm week ahead of us with temps in the upper 70s. They are also saying the night temps will be well above freezing. Wow, it sounds like spring is around the corner.

Yesterday: After getting back home from dropping Alex off at school I sat around doing little or nothing. I did work on my bible study homework prior to going to get some lunch for my favorite wife and me. After lunch I decided to do some things like start the van and let it run for a while. I also took the kerosene heater and the fuel back to the shed along with a couple other items. I picked up sticks from the front yard and after all that work, I decided to water the plants in the greenhouse. That work completed, I watered the berry beds, we do need some rain in a bad way. The birds needed and received some water too.  

                Later I talked with the car dealer to get a price that they might offer for our van. They wanted to know what other people had offered me and I told them nope. If I tell you a number someone offered, you will try to beat the price by a little. I want as much as I can get and if you don't know what they offer you might offer me considerably more. They wanted to see the van, and they said it should be worth between 3K and 8K. I think 5K would be good. The ole van has never been in a wreck and has less than 40,000 miles on it.  

                News: Alex has a girlfriend. I asked if he has a selfie of hm and her and he said no. Students are not allowed to have their phone out at school, that is even before school starts or over lunch hour, the phone must be put away.

                No idea what todays events will be, we will just wait and see what happens.

                We want to wish you a good morning from the old Fords of Hewitt. The weather is cool but not too cold.

                Let's see what I've did today already I took Alex to school almost got him there late as I had stopped to get a cup of coffee at the star place and the line took forever to get through it just to get one little old cup of coffee. After I left the coffee place I headed over to pick up Alex. As I was driving, he called me and asked where are you, and that's when I knew that I must be almost late. But I did get him to school on time.

                I made it back home OK and this is what I did when I got home. I started this at 8:30 and I took a break and did nothing before completing this soon to be not interesting bunch of words.

                After my break was over (AKA short nap) my favorite wife said, "I want to take a shower". Well, she then got out of her chair and walked into the shower. This is the first time that she was able to step over the edge of the shower without help and get in the shower. It wasn't easy but she did it.

She took a nice hot shower and then dry it off and got her clean jammies and all on. She then walked back to her chair, yes, she uses a walker, it isn't easy, but she does it.  

 Let's see If I did anything yesterday. I went to a car dealer and talked about a car I got a price on a brand-new car that is a 25 model and a 26 model. They said if I found better prices to let them know they'd beat the price. Why don't they just beat their price up front and try to get you to buy it then.

Didn't do much of anything else yesterday, we did sit outside for a few minutes as I had come in the house when it was sunny and all I said let's go sit outside when we got outside the sun was behind the cloud and even though it wasn't too cold it was not nice so only a few minutes and then we went back in the house.

Comment on the tree being cut down at our neighbor's house. When I look out the door now, I can see down the street and it's like wow I can see everything that big old tree blocked part of my view but now I can see clearly down the street. It appears a neighbor at the end of the block has some tree trimmers down there working today.

Big plan for today I might go to George's restaurant and get lunch if my wife can come up with what she would like to have. Heck I might even go to another car dealership today and talk to them.

As you can see, I have nothing to do other than sit around and think about food and sometimes think about cars. Wait a minute I need to think about my income tax I've started them but I haven't finished them yet oh I got to work on income tax.

Wow, what a start to the morning. The temp outside was 60 degrees at 5:00am, so I wish you all a good morning.

I did not need to get my favorite grandson and take him to school today as his mother had the day off from work.

Nothing New here at the Ford homestead, Bible study went good last night, and I've already started working on my homework this morning. We do have the rehab lady here working with my favorite wife trying to get her body working well.

Yesterday the tree trimming people showed up at the house next door and cut down on that big old tree that was in their front yard. I took a photo about halfway through the cutting which doesn't show all the top lambs that they cut off, and another photo after it was removed from the yard.  

                The wood butchers did a good job of removing that big ole tree and they cleaned up the yard too.

                I went to the Chevy dealer and looked for a vehicle yesterday. One vehicle had so Many options and a computer screen on the dash, it had so many things going on I told myself, "There's no way I could learn how to use all that stuff". The other Vehicle I looked at was simpler, but they all cost a bunch of money.

I have a plan to go to another dealer today and see if they have anything that I might like.  I Also plan to go get us a couple hamburgers for lunch, after the lady leaves but nothing major to do today other than maybe visiting another car dealership.

                Good morning to all the temp is a little above freezing so it is cold but not too cold.

                Yesterday morning when the Don got up both he and his wife came to the front room where they had their morning coffee (decaf) and sat around and watched a little TV. It didn't take too long for the Don to decide he wanted to go get a real cup of coffee over at the star coffee place. Before he left the homestead he started washing clothes. He removed the sheets and pillowcases from the bed and started the washing machine.

Now that he had started some work, he decided he would go to the Star Coffee Place and get a cup of real coffee. While he was out doing that, he decided he would get gas in the pickup truck. The gas only cost like $2.19 a gallon, that's pretty good and it only took about 9 gallons to fill up his tank.

                Well, let's see what the Don did today, he did go over to the cracker store for lunch and purchased a couple meals, one of the meals was free as he had quite a few points that he could use to purchase one of the meals. The food was good, later in the afternoon the dawn decided he needed to do something, so he got up and started working on his income tax for this year.

                He is using the same income tax forms that he used last year an online service.  He's got started putting things into it, answering all the questions and we'll see how it works usually we end up receiving $100 or $200 back at the end of the year.

                The Don did go into town yesterday as his favorite wife needed some batteries for some candles. He decided to go into the cheap store and see what he could do. He had a 15% discount so he saved a few dollars on the batteries that he bought for his favorite wife and he also bought a box of coffee that he could use in his Keurig coffee machine.

While I'm sitting here talking to the computer our cat Molly has decided to get up on the desk and eat some food. I have, during the cold weather, brought her food in from the garage  and put it on my desk and she comes in here and uses my desk as her eating place. If I'm sitting here, she doesn't care, she jumps up anyway if I'm in the other room she comes in and eats when she wants. She also has a litter box here in the office and one out in the garage, it seems that she uses both.

I have done my reading for the Bible yesterday and was going to do my homework, but I've got one more question I'm supposed to answer. I have not answered that question yet. I guess I'm just being lazy. Bible study is tonight so I guess I can think about that question and answer it today.

Yesterday afternoon, a little after 5:00pm I got a call from my son David saying that he was going to bring us some food for supper.  He was working on some things there at the house and he said that he might let Alex bring it over. The food was very good, and I did not need to cook.

    It is another cold good morning here in Hewitt. Temp in the low 20s so we are wondering when spring will come. I tend to complain about the cold weather along with complaining about the hot weather. Old people are allowed to complain as they forget what they have complained about yesterday and they can complain about something different today.

Now that my favorite wife is doing some walking, she got out of her chair and walked into the kitchen then back into the front room and to the front door where she stood and looked outside for a few minutes. We are happy that she is starting to walk again. Later she needed to use the restroom, so she got out of her chair and walked to the rest room. She also walked back to the front room and got back in her chair. We are very happy that she is walking as a part of her rehab. She does use a walker to help in walking.

My favorite wife's chair is difficult for her to get up out of, it is soft and it would be better if she has something solid to push on with her hands to help get up. She has tried my ole chair, when I say ole it is basically worn out, but I keep using it. If I knew where I could get a new chair like this ole chair, and if I could afford a new chair, I might get one, maybe.

I was going to go into Waco and get some sandwiches for supper, but we found that they did not have the two for $7.50 so we did not go. I was able to get some items from the freezer and put them in the microwave for a decent meal but not homemade.

The only time I left the homestead yesterday was to get a cup of coffee. I did get a lot of items out of the van (clothes and shoes) and donated them to a friend who will give them away. I need to get someone to clean the van and make it look good so I can sell it or trade it. It has not been used for a few months, and it hasn't been cleaned inside or outside. There are people who will come to your house and clean a vehicle for money. Where will I get the money, as I understand it costs $100 or more.  

My favorite wife got out of bed this morning and was able to walk into the front room. That makes us both happy and we want her to continue walking in a safe manner.

This morning, I have done a few things like fill the washing machine with some dirty items and now they are in dryer. I sneaked off and got gas in the pickup truck and naturally I got a cup of real coffee. Now I am sitting here working on this new journal I mean post.

                Yes, it is a cool good morning here in Hewitt Texas. We are looking at another day of doing little and wanting to do more after your nap.

                Let's see how this day starts off, Saturday the 31^st, it's the last day of the month. Wow, tomorrow we're going into a new month already? We did get up and do our normal things this morning, you know some cereal for breakfast, a cup of decaf coffee for each of us. I set around a little while then I decided I would try to clean my ole body up by taking a shower, which was nice. I even shaved and that felt good.

Then I said goodbye to my favorite wife! Why did I say goodbye, because I was leaving her. I went over to the Star Coffee Place to get me a cup of real coffee. The cup of coffee I had gotten there yesterday was terrible, so I told them that it was bad, thanking they might give me a free cup. The coffee yesterday was as if they had put three times as much cream in it as they did coffee. They said oh, we'll put less cream in it then. Did I get a free one, no, why don't they give free ones when they screw up?

                I am back at home sitting here in front of the computer entering data by voice and not by hand, I do have the cup of coffee and it tastes good today. I just turned on the printer as I wanted to try to print something after while and it started printing without me doing anything other than turning it on.

Yesterday I had received some information online, actually it was tax information, and I thought I'll try to print that even though I already had received it in the mail. I entered it in and told the printer to print, and it said you have an error and it wouldn't do anything. I tried to print another page, and nothing would print so I said the heck with it and shut everything down. When I turned the printer on this morning, and it prints, I don't understand it, not at all. I'm hoping I'll be able to print the homework I do for Bible study, if not I won't have anything to take the Bible study because I do it on the computer and then print it.

                Allow me to review in my mind if I did anything yesterday; we did have a friend come over and visit for a while; she brought a couple cans of chili beans for us. I had told her earlier that I'd gone to the store and could not find chili beans, I found all kinds of chili with beans in it, but I just wanted the chili beans. Well, she found some and brought a couple cans for us.

                After she left, I headed into town I went to the cheap store because I had a 15% off coupon and I was hoping they would have a battery powered vacuum like I use here at the house. They had a couple but not like what I use so I did not buy one. Then I decided I would go to the booze shop and get me a bottle of adult beverage. I thought about it and this is the first time I have bought an adult beverage since October and how do I know that, because my wife hurt her leg in the beginning of November and I had bought my last bottle before she ever hurt her leg. The store that I normally bought my adult beverage from had burnt, so I had to go to another store.

After getting the adult beverage I headed over to a food store where I went and purchased 2 frozen pizzas. They are good, they don't cost a lot but they taste good, I also got some buns from my favorite wife.

On the way home after All that shopping I decided to stop at the chicken salad place and get us both a chicken salad for supper. I also bought a package of cookies from the chicken salad place which cost too much ($5.00 for six cookies) but they are good. I made it home safe and sound, we had chicken salad for supper.

Well, I guess that's it for now, I'm going to try to stop and go do nothing, maybe today maybe I might go look at another vehicle, let's see how the day goes. We hope you have a good day and stay safe in all you do, keep all your friends and neighbors in your prayers.

                We come to you with a good morning from the Fords of Hewitt Texas. We had a good day yesterday with some warm sunny weather.

                I was able to water the flowers in the green house. I have a couple photos, and I have noticed that something is getting in the pots and digging in them. I assume it is either mice or rats that probably live under the floor of the green house. One of the plants appears to being eaten by the intruder. 

          

Our dog Tres was barking out near the fence at the ditch and when I looked out back to see what he was barking at, I noticed the shadow of a large bird crossing the yard. I walked out back to see what was flying over and it was a buzzard. I went to the fence to see what Tres was barking at and there was a buzzard sitting on the fence. It flew away as soon as I walked up and that is when I saw something dead laying in the ditch. I could not see what it is, but I have a photo of the dead body.

A friend dropped by yesterday afternoon and visited for a while and as usual the conversations seemed to be all about doctors and health concerns. After the friend left a person from the rehab came by, he was doing an interview with my favorite wife, he was determining if she needed to continue rehab. After a bunch of questions he explained that she should be walking using a walker several times daily. He then asks my favorite wife to get up and take a few steps. He explained that it might hurt and if it hurt to much stop. She took a few steps and he then asked her to walk over to the fireplace and then back to the chair, which she did without any problems. He suggested that she should get out of the chair every hour and walk around the house some. He also suggested that I stay close when she is walking.

Well, I guess I should get ready to go get Alex and take him to school. Yesterday I got a cup of real coffee from the star coffee place before I picked him up, wow, back to normal things to do.

Good morning, it's above freezing this morning and we are happy. I did get Alex to school on time and safely. I have a photo from this morning as Tres, and I went to the front yard I noticed the beautiful sun rise. The sun rise was prettier in real life than it is on the photo.

                 Yesterday's events: I did get to go to the store, and I bought a lot of things. I did not find any chili beans as I wanted 4 cans. There was a place in one aisle and its sign said Chili. They had various cans of chili, but I wanted Chili beans not chili, I can make the chili if I have the ingredients. Since I did not find the beans, I also did not get any ground beef.  My favorite wife said I should have got the ground beef so we could have used it to make other food items. Wow, I guess I will get to go to the store again. I noticed that a lot of shelves were almost empty. I guess everyone is shopping and maybe not all the employees are coming to work.

                I went to George's restaurant yesterday afternoon to get a couple items for supper. I got the orders to go after sitting there for about 20 minutes. I should call the order in and then I would not need to wait as long if I called them in.

                Yesterday morning when I went to the store the side streets were partially clear and partly covered with ice. I did not have any problems driving but I did drive carefully. Yesterday afternoon when I went for supper most of the side streets were clear. I was careful this morning when I went to get Alex, there were very few areas with ice on the streets and most of the streets will be clear.

Wow, I did get a real cup of coffee from the star coffee company this morning before picking up Alex.    

                We were supposed to get 7 pieces of mail and one small package yesterday. The mail man left one letter, and it wasn't important. Where are the rest of our mail and the package? Today we are supposed to get 8 pieces of mail and one small package, we will see if they deliver or not.

                The trash people did not pick up any trash yesterday; our trash cart has been on the curb for four days now and they have not come by. A good friend called the city and learned that the trash pickup will not be until next Monday, but they will be picking up the recycling items today. They normally get the recycle on Wednesday.

                I guess I should take the kerosene heater and fuel back to the shed, but we have another cold front coming in a couple days so maybe I will wait.

                I need to get a new vehicle to replace the van, I need to get busy with this. The van needs to be cleaned and all the items inside it removed and donated. For some reason I think about this but do not get to work on it. If I start talking to a dealer about price, I need to have the van available as a trade in. The van is in good condition with only a couple of small problems, no mechanical problems and it only has 40,000 miles on it. Yep, I guess I am just lazy, or maybe my favorite wife needs to stay on me to not sit around.

                Good morning to everyone, we hope you all have heat and electricity in your homes. Please be careful if you need to drive in the cold and icy weather. I have a photo of some of the sleet blocks that I had cleaned from the walk.

                 Speaking of driving in cold icy weather, I will need to do that today. I will be taking Alex to school this morning, but they are starting school 2 hours later than usual. I will attempt to leave the homestead a little early and drive on the slick roads at a very slow and safe speed. I have four reasons to drive today.

One is to get Alex to school safely and on time.

Two is to get me a cup of coffee from the Star coffee place.

Three is to go to the store to get some groceries.  

Four is to go to the drug store and get a prescription for my favorite wife, which this year cost twice as much as it did last year. I will ask why?

New notice: I just learned that our schools have changed their minds and instead of starting late, they are not having school today.

 

Yesterday we did very little, it was cold outside, so I did not want to go outside. We had leftover chili for lunch, and it was as good being a leftover as it was when it was first cooked. Yes, I know how to make chili and that is about all I can cook other than things in the microwave. 

Bible study yesterday was not the kind I like. I am not a good student, and I like questions that are easy and do not require me to be intelligent to answer them. A lot of the class are good at providing clear informative answers.

The trash is still sitting in the curb; they did not collect trash for the last two days. The mail person has not come by for the last two days; I guess they are on vacation.

I guess I should stop entering data and start the truck to get it warmed up before I head out to get three of the four reasons for driving.

January 27, 2026

      We are still having a cold start to the day, and the streets are still covered with frozen sleet. We still want to wish you a good morning.  

                Yesterday I did get outside and work my poor ole body to a point of exhaustion. What was it I did yesterday in the cold weather, I cleaned the walk so I could get to the mailbox, even though the mail person did not deliver any mail. The sleet was frozen and about one inch thick on the walk. I broke the sleet and then pushed it off the walk. I do have evidence of the work, aka a photo.

                This morning the walk has ice on it at the area where the roof dripped water yesterday. About 5 feet of the walk has ice and the rest is still clear.

                I bundled up yesterday and made it through the cold air without any problems. I did not go anywhere even though I needed to get out of the house and go to the drug store. We called the drug store yesterday a couple times and they never answered, so we assumed they were closed. We will try to call them again today.

We were going to do bible study from home last night on the computer. I checked in but for some reason the program was not working. I could see the others as they came on but when someone spoke, I could hear a couple words and then the screen would stop. I tried to say something, but it was as if they could not hear me, as others would talk over me and I was not muted. After a short time, I just disconnected. I will start next week's homework today.

 I hope they get some of these streets cleared today, I haven't seen anyone drive on our street. We did sit the trash cans out yesterday, but the trash truck did not come by and get the trash. We did have a lot of sun yesterday and that helped the green house to stay warm all day. The plants need to be watered in the greenhouse, but I can't until the freeze leaves.

January 26, 2026

                We wish you a good morning even though the weather isn't good. Everything is covered with about ¾ inch of sleet and when you walk on the sleet it is solid, aka frozen. The streets are still covered with sleet. Schools and some businesses are closed today and the temp this morning is a cool 16 degrees.  

                We did nothing yesterday other than complain about the cold weather and not being able to go to the store. Obviously, the schools are canceled and that is good as I was not going to attempt to drive on the sleet-covered streets today and probably not tomorrow. Photo looking out the front door.

My favorite wife and I are sitting here in the TV room both with a cup of homemade coffee    in our hands. Yep, homemade coffee, wow, can I make it through the day without a coffee from the Star coffee place? Wait a minute, I went all day yesterday without a Star coffee, now you see how bad it is when you get old and can't enjoy a cup of real coffee.

                We have discussed the possibility of a pot of chili for today, but I need to see if we have all ingredients. That means I will need to get out of my chair and look through the canned goods. Never any rest for ole people.

                Something that happened this morning. We had just gotten out of bed, and my favorite wife was sitting on the bed, when she got up using the walker and turned toward where I was and she walked over to the wheelchair, which was about 6 steps. Normally I would push the wheelchair to her, but she came to the wheelchair. I think she did it without thinking and she did not have any problems walking. Wow, progress!
