                Good morning to all.

                A short note as to what we did yesterday. I did get a cup of coffee before taking Alex to school. Back at home I rested for a while before we headed out to the doctor's office. At the doctor's office they drew blood in prep for my favorite wife's upcoming visit next week.

Leaving the doctor's office we had decided to go to George's restaurant for a nice breakfast. We had ham and cheese omelets and they were good.

                Leaving the restaurant, we went to the cheap store, and we went through the store reviewing their inventory. We purchased a package of batteries that my favorite wife uses to keep all her battery powered candles lit. Back at home we were happy to kick back and do nothing for a while.

                My favorite wife did go through some things to straighten up a few things in the homestead. She can get around and do certain things, but she still has the pain in her knee.

                My favorite wife and I were happy to get out and do some things other than stay at home.

                I did review my notes for the Bible study yesterday in prep for the meeting last night. We have the week off next week as it is spring break, yep, we get a break when the school gets a break.

                I did get Alex to school on time and in a safe mode as he was also wearing his Marine uniform as he is in ROTC. Tomorrow is his birthday and he will be 16, he is trying to decide where he wants to have his birthday lunch.

                Well, I need to quit and get ready to go to the body shop, not for my body but for the Fords new Chevy. We are supposed to get a price on the repair to the dent in the tail gate.

Good morning on this first day of March, I have prayed that you have a good day.

Alex came over to do our yard work yesterday morning and after greeting Granny he went outside and procured the fertilizer spreader from the shed and came to the front yard. He covered the front yard with fertilizer twice. The sprinklers have run today and that is good to get the fertilizer into the ground.  

After spreading the fertilizer, he then took the string trimmer and trimmed several areas of the front yard. The front yard finished he went to the back yard and tried to mulch the leaves that I had piled up in various places. The mulch did not look good, so Alex changed to vacuuming them with the walk behind mower.

Alex then got the ole riding mower started, and that is not easy as the battery is dead. He used the halo to jump start the mower. While he was mowing the back 40, I rearranged a few things in the shed.

 Alex replaced the tarp overs the riding mower. All the work finished we decided to go into Waco for a quick lunch. My favorite wife went to lunch with us as we went to Arby's for a sandwich. Lunch was good and after that we took Alex home. I should note that Alex will be 16 on March the 4^th.

Later in the day we were able to relax outside in the nice warm weather. The neighborhood was quiet except for some birds that seemed to be having a good time.

                We are starting another good morning here in Hewitt, Texas. We pray that your day is filled with kindness.

                Let's see what the old senior person "Don the Ford" did yesterday, we know he did not work so he must have played games all day long.

                The first game he played was pick-up-sticks and he did that in the front yard. His second game was to clean out the garage, which included moving all the plumerias out of the garage, and some are in very heavy pots. Note: these plants have not been watered since they were placed in the garage last fall, so he also played with the water hose and watered these potted plants.

                He was having so much fun watering the potted plants he decided to water the blackberries out back and also gave the bird bath some water. He then decided he would play roll up the hose which he did and he also played the game of roll up the electrical wire that goes out to the greenhouse, oh, so much fun playing these games.

                After all the games were finished, he sat outside on the driveway for a while with his favorite wife and enjoyed the warm afternoon. A friend came over and sat with them for a while there were some lively conversations, we even discussed a Bible subject.

                After we came back into the house decided to go and get us some food from the restaurant named after my dad "George". The food was good and we then kicked back and did nothing other than watch some silly TV shows prior to going to bed.

                Wow, games be fun!

                Today I plan to get Alex over here to do some yard work.

                Hello from me to you, it is a good morning here in Hewitt Texas. This morning is starting a lot like yesterday, that is with errors for me or things happening that were not planned.

                I got up this morning and got dressed, had a cup of coffee, watched the so-called news which right now and for the last month have been nothing more than advertisements for politicians who are running for office, which by the way is very irritating to this old person.

My favorite wife got up and after a few minutes of discussion I headed out to go get Alex to take him to school. Heading out to get Alex happened to be my first odd error today which reminds me of all the odd things that happened yesterday. Now what was that odd error this morning? I do not have to take Alex to school on Friday as his mother is off work on Fridays and she takes him to school on Friday, why can't I remember that.

                During the day yesterday I told my favorite wife that I was going to work on my Bible study homework and almost every time I said that, I did not get to work on my Bible study homework, as something else would pop up. I am not going to try to go through all the things that kept happening or distracting me from my Bible study, but I will just say it was an odd day and when I look back at it, I think of it as being kind of funny. If I didn't look at it as being funny, then I would be upset at the day, and I don't want to be upset.

                Let's get back to today, as I had got into the truck and was headed over to get Alex I then decided I will continue driving that way and I will go to the Star coffee place and get me a real coffee. I was able to procure a real cup of coffee and as I started back towards the homestead I thought, maybe you should go get a burrito for breakfast and self said I like that idea so I then turned my vehicle towards the burrito shop.

                I was able to procure a burrito this morning, and I offered to share it with my favorite wife although she had already had some cereal for breakfast and she did not want any of my burrito. The burrito was good and now I'm sitting here at my computer speaking to it trying to get the right words in for your enlightenment.

Different topic: I just looked up at the security cameras and saw what was a little bit odd, it appeared to be a lady walking down her sidewalk from her house to the street then she continued on across the street and down the street out of sight. What is odd is she appeared to have a short house coat on, and I couldn't tell if she had shoes on or not but I assumed she did. I'm not sure if it was a lady that lives there or if it was her daughter or who it was, it was somebody.

Today I need to go out in the yard and pick up some stuff, roll up the electrical card from the greenhouse and different things like that in preparation for the possibility of having our yard man Alex over here tomorrow doing some work. I've actually got several things that need to be done I don't know how much we'll be able to get done in one day. With that I am going to stop and attempt to go into the front room and do nothing for a little while.

                It is a good foggy morning here in Hewitt, Texas.

                Yesterday in review: I did get Alex to school early for their trip. Alex noted that their orchestra scored 100. Each orchestra was rated based on their performance.

                I did go to the back yard yesterday with the battery powered string trimmer and I did remove weeds and grass away from all the things in the back 40. There are 4 flower beds, 3 berry beds, one shed and one green house that needed work. A couple of the flower beds had a bunch of dead stuff due to the freeze, so I cleared it all with the string trimmer. After the trimming I used the leaf blower and rake to get the leaves in areas together. I hope that we can mulch the leaves and see if that is ok, if not we can vacuum them up. We also need to spread the fertilizer in the yard, and we might spred the fire ant killer. The front yard could be trimmed. Too much work for ole people.

                The temp was in the upper 80s yesterday so we did sit outside and the neighborhood was quiet. We did not see any drones fly over yesterday.  

                This morning, I drove the Fords new Chevy to get Alex and take him to school. I was going to get a cup of real coffee but since I was in the Fords new Chevy, I did not have my gold card as it is in the Fords Ole Chevy. I am having a cup of homemade coffee now.

                Today I need to get to work on my bible study homework.

                Plans for the day: take Alex to school, take Donna to the doctor and have her knee checked out. This is a scheduled visit and hopefully they say everything is healed.

                We hope you are having a good morning or good day depending on when you view this posting.

                We had a normal day yesterday there were a couple exceptions. One was my favorite wife got up as early as I did and the other exception was, we went for a drive out in the country in the Fords new Chevy. I had not driven out on those roads for a couple years and in some areas, things have changed, some areas were as I remember. The drive was nice and it got us out of the house for a while. One of the things I like is the fact that the vehicle will keep you in your lane. If you are driving and get close to the center lane line, the vehicle will slightly turn the steering wheel and bring you away from the line. If you get across the line without the turn signal on it will vibrate your seat.

                I did go to the cracker store for lunch, that is a "to-go lunch", not eating there. I know their Sunday crowds are large, and we cannot depend on a handicap parking space. The food was good for lunch and there is enough left over for our supper.

                I did not need to take Alex to school today, his mother is off work and will take him. I was going to take the Fords new Chevy as Alex has not seen the Fords new Chevy, but it looks a lot like his parents' vehicle, so it might not have been interesting to him...

                I need to get in touch with the Chevy dealer and see about getting the dent on the back of the vehicle fixed. I have looked it over and it will take some time to repair the dent. The dealer added a three-year dent repair to the vehicle so we will see if this will be free. It is very irritating for me that I let the new vehicle get damaged.

                I don't have any big plans for today, I will likely need to go to the store for some groceries, I know we need several items. We hope your day is filled with fun and happiness and that you are safe in all you do.

                Good Morning…

Yesterday's events explained: Well yesterday morning started off pretty much normal, I rolled out of bed a little bit after 5:00 AM and let my dog out back so he could do his business. I also fed the dog and made a hot cup of coffee. I put a couple big pieces of ice in it so it would cool down because my mouth still hurts from being burnt a week ago when I drank some super-hot coffee. I did get in the front room sat down and turned the TV on, obviously there was nothing on since it was Saturday morning. After a little while I got up, went and got dressed, and my favorite wife got out of bed and came to the front room.

                What a way to start your day, after a few minutes I decided, I was going to go to the coffee place and get another cup of real coffee. I wanted to drive the Fords new Chevy. The drive was good; I learned a few things. Back at home, there is nothing to do but sit around with the TV on waiting for Patrick and Karla to arrive.

They arrived about 11:00am. We had some nice conversations before we decided to head out to the cracker store for lunch. We all got into the Ford's new Chevy and headed over that way. My favorite wife has no trouble getting in and out of the Fords new Chevy. I now know that a person my size can sit in the back seat comfortably when I'm sitting in the front seat comfortably (Patrick was in the back seat) that means the vehicle has appropriate room for passengers.

                We placed our orders and the food was good, the young lady who served us I think was too busy because she kept forgetting things that we asked for. She did get a tip, but it wasn't a tip because of the really good work she did, it's a tip because I'm a nice person. We drove back home in a safe manner.

                We sat around and talked about things, then Patrick and I went out to the Fords new Chevy and he showed me how to do a few things that I did not know. It will take some time for me to learn how to use everything, but it drives good and that's the key.

                I did take it for a short drive last night just to see how the lights all worked, and all seemed to work as expected. The head lights went on high beam when we got on a dark street and as soon as we got close to other lights the head lights went back to low beam.  

                I messed up. When we arrived back home, I attempted to back into the garage. I took my foot off the break and gave it a little gas to get over the hump. I tried to apply the break and I missed the brake which allowed the Fords new Chevy to bump into the shelf. Yep, the Fords new Chevy has a small dent. I guess it is good that we have dent repair.

                I am use to the break and gas peddles in the Fords ole Chevy, I need to get use to the peddles in the Fords new Chevy.

                It is a cool 55 degrees here in Hewitt this very Good Morning.

                We would like to say to everyone who commented on the Fords new Chevy, thanks for the comments and we are glad you took the time to review the post.

                My favorite wife and I got into the Fords new Chevy and went for a ride. Now we did not go anywhere, we just rode around. Basically, we were attempting to learn what the new vehicle did and how to do it. We now know we can have a couple ice teas from the chicken place in the vehicle while we are riding around. Yes, we did get tea to help us enjoy the ride.

                Our ride took us to David's house. Dave and Claire came out and looked at the vehicle. They have a VW and it looks a lot like our Chevy. We did make it back home without a speeding ticket.

                I have considered the possibility of taking the Fords new Chevy out for a drive tonight. I want to see how the lights work. The headlights are supposed to be on high beam and go to low beam automatically when another vehicle is coming.

                I did go online and downloaded an owner's manual; it is over 300 pages. I assume I can learn how to use the vehicle. Basically, anyone can drive the vehicle if they know how to use the turn signals, brakes, gas and air bags.

                Different note: Patrick and Karla are coming to our house today. Our big plan for today is to enjoy some time with family.

                Good morning to all, the weather is supposed to be cooler today. We hope you have a good day.

Yesterday's events: I did not get a cup of real coffee yesterday as the top of my mouth is hurting from the coffee that burnt my mouth a couple days ago. I made a cup of coffee here at the homestead and I let it set until it was very cool. Cool coffee did not hurt my mouth. About 10:00am I headed to the bank to see if they would give me some money (aka cashers check). They did not give me a check, it cost $3.00.

Check in hand, I went to the dealership to consider purchasing a new vehicle. We got in the vehicle and went for a drive. At some point during the drive, I must have gotten too close to something as the driver's seat vibrated. I was told it was the device in the seat that was there to warn the driver. I like the safety devices in the vehicle, if I can learn how to use them all.  

When the drive was over we did a bunch of things like paperwork and calling the insurance people.  The dealer washed the vehicle and filled it with gas. Speaking of gas, I have not seen a gas gage, they do show how many mile you can travel on the gas, so I guess that it the gas gage.

They took the check and told me that I had overpaid $93.00. They had told me what the entire amount would be so why didn't they give me the right amount.

I was there for several hours and I did get tired. They have put the vehicle info on my phone so you can start, lock or unlock it from anywhere. In doing that they took my pickup off my phone. Now I am unhappy.

Any way I drove it home and it is comfortable. At home my favorite wife came out and got in so we took a short ride. While we were driving, we stopped at a chicken salad place and I purchased supper.

Now I need to learn how to use the touch screen and other things like the hearted steering wheel and heated seats, lane change emergency stops etc. Maybe it is too much for an ole senior person.

The vehicle does not have a complete instruction book, there is a short version but it does not cover much. They have an online instruction book and you can order a paper version. Photo to follow.

          Good morning to "you" and no one else. You are important to me and that is why you are getting this email.  

          I do not need to take Alex to school today or tomorrow. What will I do, and how will I get my cup of real coffee. Wow, I complain when I have to do something, and I complain when I don't have something to do.

          I have some news for you: in my office I have cat litter and it does stink at times. I have cat food on the desk, and the cat will get up there and eat while I am using the computer. The food is on the desk to keep the dog from eating it.  Yesterday evening I went into the office to get my laptop. I found cat throw-up on the paperwork on the desk. This is the paperwork I received when I was at the Chevy dealership. Cats be bad.

          Now I have another comment about the Chevy paperwork. I made an offer to the salesperson yesterday, and they said they would accept it if we could close the deal by this afternoon. So, I will try to get some money from the bank and take the van to the dealer and make the deal. If all goes well, I will have a photo tomorrow. If not, there will be no photos.

          I did get some fertilizer for the lawn and some fire ant killer yesterday. Now I need to get Alex over here to spred the fertilizer, I can't walk fast enough without my ankle hurting to use the spreader. The back 40 needs fertilizer and needs to be mowed.

          My favorite wife and I sat outside yesterday afternoon, there was no breeze and the neighborhood was ultra quiet. We saw a couple of drones fly over while we sat outside. We also heard them test fire a rocket while we were outside and it did wipe out the quiet with loud noise for about one minute. I watered the flowers in the greenhouse along with a lite watering of the berry beds.  

          Wish me luck with the dealer, if all doesn't go well, I will not make the deal.

                We are Having a bright and cheerful good morning here in Hewitt TX. I am a little late at starting this I have already got Alex to school on time and safely and have come back to the house and did nothing for a while.

                No big plans for today I could go to the store and try to get the fertilizer I need but other than that no big plans. I haven't heard from the car dealer, I think they are as hard-headed as I am. I want to pay my price, and they want me to pay their price, and both of us are hardheaded. I'm not saying that it's bad, we both need to win on this, they need to make a profit, and I need to get a good deal.

                Well, I guess that's all for today we do have some Easter Lilies blooming in the backyard and I've noticed a plant in the front yard starting to get a couple buds on it.

Well, it is a dark good morning here in Hewitt as the sun has not yet come up.

                I did get a call from the auto dealer that I've been talking to wanting to know if I wanted to buy the car and I told him that he needed to increase the price that they're willing to give me for the van. The salesman talked to the sales manager, and they offered me an additional $300 towards the price of our van, and I told them I'd think about it but, nope they're going to have to meet my price.

                I did go to the store yesterday to purchase a few items; number one, I forgot that I wanted to get Kitty litter, #2 they did not have the fertilizer that I wanted, and they did not have the Fire Ant killer that I wanted. I did get all the other items known as food items.

                My wife and I sat outside for a while yesterday it was very warm and nice the neighborhood was quiet. We enjoyed the time just sitting in the sun.

                I think I have already said that our Bible study last night was online and this time my computer worked properly for the meeting.

                Yesterday at about 4:00pm I went into the ole office hoping to watch The Five, which comes on at 4:00 local time. When I sat down at the desk I looked at the temperature readings for outside and for the green house. The greenhouse was at 105 degrees, so I ventured Out to the greenhouse and open the door allowing some of the heat to escape.

                I made a mistake yesterday afternoon and I have made this mistake before thinking at that time I would not make the same mistake again. Obviously, I have made the same mistake again and that mistake is taking ice water out of my thermos and putting it in the dog's water bowl. I have done that in the past and Tres has gone to his water bowl and drank a bunch of ice-cold water and then a minute later thrown up. Now you know why I said I was not going to do that again but being a big dummy, I did it again and yes, he went into the front room, went to the door trying to get out and threw up so I had to clean up throw up.

                Almost every afternoon lately when I come in to watch the five, I have something that drags me away from the TV. I only get to see small parts of the Five or none of it. Yesterday I had to clean up throw-up off the floor, so I missed most of the five. Old people never get a break.

                I need to get going and get Alex off to school, we hope you jave a good day and that we all stay safe in all we do.

                I would like to wish you a good morning on this holiday, it is Presidents' Day and I do not have to take Alex to school as he is out of school today. I assume that means I have a day off too.

                Today I need to go to the store and start buying some things like grocery items, but I also need some fertilizer for the yard and some fire ant killer and things like that. The yard is ready to be worked so my yard man Alex is going to have to come over and work for me or else I'll have to do the work myself.

                I have again completed my income tax forms, this is the second set of forms, and come up with the same situation, "I owe money". What I find odd is I normally would get a few $100 back each year and this year since we received a little more from social security and a few dollars more in interest, I need to pay. Ole people on a fixed income should not need to pay taxes.

                Yesterday morning at about 11:00 I decided to go to the cracker store and get some lunch. I placed my order to go and I asked, "Do I get a free cup of coffee". The young man said yes and brought me a free cup of coffee. Unfortunately, it was very hot and the first sip I took burnt the roof of my mouth and now my mouth hurts.

Back at home lunch was good and there's enough leftovers that we will have it same thing for supper. My favorite wife and I did sit outside yesterday enjoying the afternoon warmth, it was a little breezy but a very nice afternoon.

                We have no big plans for today although if everything goes right, I might go to a different Chevrolet dealer and see what they've got. I would like it if the dealer I was at the last time would call and give me the money that I'd asked for the van, and I would buy the vehicle from them. I guess we'll figure it out sooner or later.

                Our bible study will be via computer this evening. They say they are working on some electrical situations at the church. The last time they were on the computer my computer did not want to work.

                Well, I can't think of much else to say or do so I think I'll stop and say to you, I hope you have a good day, be safe and all you do and be nice to others.

                As we start this good morning the rain has stopped, and we do not know how much rain we received due to the rain gage being cracked. I assume the ole rain gage may have had some water in it during the freeze and that caused the cracks in the gage.

                Yesterday I washed some clothes, and I worked on the income tax again. We still owe the government money this year. This morning during my morning prayer it came to me that I have made a mistake on the tax form. It has to do with my favorite wife's' part D payment, I used the amount she pays this year, not last year. I will go back and make the change sometime today. It is nice to have guidance from above.

                No big plans for today, we will just see what happens. We hope you have a good day and that we all stay safe in all we do.

                Good morning form me to you all, we don't have rain, but we do have drizzle, and know, they are not the same thing. Rain Defined; you could go out to the back yard and take a shower in rain, Drizzle defined; drizzle just makes your windshield wet.

Yesterday's events: I called the car dealer, and I explained that they had said the old van was worth $5,995.00 (why didn't they say $6000.00 I don't know) and they had deducted $995.00 from the van's value due to the air conditioner not working. I showed them it worked but they did not add the $995.00 back to the value of the van.

I wanted them to add it back, but they would not. If they had added it back I would have purchased the vehicle. I did call a different dealer to see if they had the same vehicles available.  

Later in the day I called Alex and brought him over. We did wash the dog, and we attempted to remove some leaves from the jasmine beds. We did get a bunch of leaves out of the beds but not all. Alex drove the Fords Ole pickup on the way home, he is a good driver.  

My favorite wife did sit outside while Alex and I were working in the yard. Later a friend came over and brought my favorite wife a flower and some Valentine candy, photo to follow.

                 They stayed a while and after they left another friend came over and brought a pizza. We were sitting outside eating pizza. Nice weather and nice friends.

                I did get a photo of some easter lilies that are growing in the back 40.

                 Today's events: my big plan is to wash some clothes, and work on the income tax. I do need a few things from the store but I'm not sure if I will go or not.

                This good morning is on Friday the 13^th and we hope you have a good morning and a good day, or maybe you should stay at home and do nothing.

                The Don had a normal day yesterday, he was able to take Alex to school, and he did get a cup of coffee without paying. Yep, he had enough points to get a free cup of coffee. He was able to do his daily bible study.

                I believe I have commented on this in the past so if you have heard it before you can ignore it. On Wednesday I tried to print the unfinished income tax forms. As usual the printer had an error and would not print. I was disappointed and I was thinking I should purchase a new printer, but where will I get the funding.

                Yesterday I started the computer and I started the printer. After about one minute without any other action from me, the printer started printing what I had wanted to print the day before. Yep, the printer saves the info and after a restart, it printed.

                Yesterday afternoon I decided to go into Waco and look at the chevy SUVs again. I found the same salesman, and we went to the vehicle and looked it over again. We went through all the safety items that I wanted, and they were in this vehicle. I told him I wanted to get a price, and I had a van to trade in. They looked at the van and said it was worth $5,895.00 but the air conditioner did not work so they reduced the amount they would pay by $995.00. I said the air works and we walked out to the vehicle. The sales manager went with me. I started the vehicle and turned the air on. It started to cool down the van. The sales manager did not know how to turn it on as you must push a button. He noted he was use to vehicles with the computer screen, and not the manual units.

                The salesman said he would drive the vehicle and follow me to my house so my wife can look at it. At the house my wife looked at the vehicle, and she was able to get into the vehicle without any help. We both like the vehicle but I need a little more concession in the price.                 This morning while laying in bed I became concerned that the vehicle might be too technical for this ole person. Example, to put it in park you push a button, I am use to a lever to go to park. Our ole chevy pickup truck has a touch screen but it is only about 8 X 10 inches in size. The new vehicle has an enormous touch screen; can I learn how to use it?

                If I call then today, I will do a couple things. I tell them what I want or need. I will ask for a $500 to $1,000 decrease in the price, and if they do, I will bring the check from the bank today and the deal will be done.

If not then we will consider their offer over the three-day weekend, Monday is Presidents' Day. The three-day weekend will give me time to check back with the other dealers that I have already visited.

                If they meet my requests and I purchase the vehicle, I will show you a photo, if not I will not show you a photo.

                School is out today so I don't need to take Alex to school. Will that mean I don't get a cup of real coffee? Nope I have already gone to the coffee store and the burrito store, and we have eaten our breakfast.

I would like to get Alex over here to the house so we could wash the Dog if the weather is warm enough. There is some yard work we could do if he comes over.
