October 2, 2025

It is another good morning here in Hewitt Texas, and we hope you all have a good day.

Let us review yesterday: I did get a cup of coffee from the star coffee place, and I did get Alex to school on time. I took it easy after returning home, until my favorite wife decided to go to town get some groceries. When she left, I went into the garage and cleared the items off the table that covered our generator. I created this table several years ago to protect the generator from being hit or damaged. We now use it as a table to store items on plus that's where our cat eats her food.

Once I had cleared the items off the table I moved the table away from the generator and then moved the generator out to the driveway under the car port. Yes, I had previously moved the truck out to the street. I had my stool that is on rollers so I could easily move all around the generator. I had the air hose and a couple rags along with a brush which was used to clean the dust and spider webs from the generator.

I decided to check the air filter to be sure it was clean. I removed the metal cover and the filters, which were all clean, so I replaced them all. I checked the oil, and it was full. I then checked the gas tank, and it was not only empty, but it was dry. I always attempt to get all the gas out of the tank, gas lines and carburetor before storing it.

I then put some gas into the gas tank and attempted to get it to run. Usually, the generator would start after a couple of pulls but this time it would not start. I checked the valve that turns the gas on and off. I got tired and stopped for a short time.

Back at the generator I started wondering why it would not start, and then I noticed that the metal cover on the air filter was upside down. Yep, I had installed it incorrectly. I then took it off and reinstalled it, now the air can flow into the carburetor. I pulled the rope, and the motor hit a couple of times, but it would not start. I then decided that I may have had the gas valve turned the wrong way. Valve turned the other way, and the rope pulled the generator came to life, it was running! I didn't think I had put much gas in the generator, but it ran for about 30 minutes.

After it stopped running, I used the air hose to dry out the inside of the gas tank. It is all put back in its location and the table is over the generator. Too much work for and ole person.

An event from last night: Tres came to my side of the bed and wanted to go outside. I assumed he had to go so I jumped out of bed (jumped in this means I crawled) and I let Tres outside. I then sat in the chair in the front room for about 15 minutes and Tres had not come back to the door wanting in. I went to the door to see what he was doing, and he seemed to be attempting to throw up, so I left him outside and went to bed. At about 4:30 this morning he was barking so I let him back into the house.

Well, I will stop for now, we hope you have a good day and stay safe in all you do.

October 1, 2025

I would like to say good morning to all, we hope everybody has a good day.

We are now starting a new month. October has come and it still isn't cool fall weather yet. This morning is nice in the low 60s but this afternoon we'll be warm in the low 90s fall has not came.

Yesterday was a good day, got the boy to school on time and safely got back home in time to get my wife to the doctor for her MRI. That all went very well and we were told that there's really no change, so everything is good.

No great big plans for today for some reason I keep thinking I want to get the generator out clean it and see if it runs. That's a lot of work and we'll see how things go. I have a smaller generator out in the shed that I probably ought to get it out and see if it runs. I wonder what we would find if we just went around and looked at everything that's lying around in the garage, the shed, here there and yonder, how much of that stuff we really don't need, or don't know is there.

I don't have any new photos for today. I'm going to quit now and get ready to go get Alex and take him to school. We hope you have a good day, stay safe in all you do, and be nice to at least one person today.
