                I am going to say good morning even though it is still dark outside. Is it considered morning before the sun comes up?

                Yesterday’s main events; we had decided to go into Waco and get a couple items and my favorite wife found a penny heads up. Now back in the olden days when we were first married, each time we found a penny heads up something good would happen. Now it my have been that we made something good happen because we believed something good was going to happen. Anyway, back to yesterday, after she found a heads-up penny, we had gone to the sandwich shop to get lunch, and I found a penny on the sidewalk and it was heads up. “Two heads up pennies in one day.”

                Back at home I had ventured into the bathroom where I found a penny on the floor and it was heads up. Three heads up pennies in one day, how many good things might happen.

                I have not had a coffee from the star coffee place for more than a week and I have no plans to get a coffee from there, but if someone gave me a gift card to the coffee place, I would feel obligated to get a cup of real coffee from the star coffee place.

                We did go to supper with our friends and the food and service were good. The only thing I did not like was the background music was loud, and I had difficulty hearing what was being said.

                As usual we did set outside yesterday afternoon enjoying the almost fall weather.

                My big plan for today is to mow the front yard and I need to get started so I will wish you a blessed and safe day. You are in our prayers.

                Our morning is starting off nice, so we wish you a good morning also.

                I Know my posts are nothing special so if you want to stop receiving these posts just let me know and I will take you off the mail list.

                Yesterday I went to the rehab for my ankle, and back at home we sat on the front porch yesterday afternoon. The neighborhood was not quiet at all during the day as they are working on the neighbor’s house foundation. I have a photo of some of the work, and this is almost all the way around the house.

                The neighborhood became quiet again when the workers left the area. I assume they have a few more days of work before they finish.

Our weather had been nice with cool mornings and afternoon temps in the 80s and low 90s. Fall might be here.

We might go into Waco later today to get a couple of items and this evening we plan to go to supper with friends from down the street. Our plan is to go to a restaurant that we like, and they have never been to.  

I have learned that our yardman Alex has some ROTC things to do Saturday so I will need to do my own mowing. Wow old person has to work.

We have a good morning starting here in Hewitt, we hope you do also.

            Yesterday has come and gone so let’s see if I can remember anything about it. I did go to the store and purchased a few items, but I forgot to purchase the paper towels. Ole people can’t remember so they should have notes.

The cleaning lady came and did her work. After she finished my favorite wife and I got our flu shots. On the way home we stopped and purchased some food for supper. Arriving back home we did set outside as it was later in the afternoon. The weather was excellent.

A friend called and asked if we needed any bows that can be put on gifts, so we said yes and he came over and brought some bows. We did get to sit and talk for a while. We have good neighbors and they are also good friends.

Yesterday I posted a photo of a mushroom in the back yard and there are now 3 or 4 more. I guess the wet weather not only has the grass growing but everything is growing.

Today’s plan, I might go and discuss insurance with an agent, I need to get some stamps, and I do have a rehab appointment at 1:30 today. Wow, how can an ole person do all that in one day?

                Good morning and speaking of mourning, allow me to tell you how my morning started. I woke up and got out of bed, came into the front room as usual set down in my chair and looked at the clock and found out that it was 6:30am. I normally wake up around 5:00 or 5:30. I got out of bed I thought it was 5:30, but it was not, I had overslept by an hour, excellent.

Let us look at yesterday's events I did get an early morning start at removing a few things from the yard that had blown down during the rain and wind. I also cut down a couple of trees out of a flower bed that were maybe three or four feet tall. I cut back a rose bush that was dead and a bunch of other stuff was picked up before the sun got hot and shiny.

The rain has again provided me with a mushroom in the back yard, photo to follow.

 

I then headed into town all alone as my favorite wife did not want to go with me. I drove up to Wally world but could not find a handicap parking place as they were all full so I left there and went on into Waco where I went to another store and was able to get in, find the item that my wife needed, and purchased it.

Now about the purchasing of the item, I got 2 packages of this item and I had the packages back-to-back laid them on the counter and the lady charged me for one thinking there was only one. When I saw what she charged me, I told her that I have two, (I am an honest person not wanting to cheat anybody), I paid for two.

When I got back home, I had to get my drill out and some drill bits to install the items that my dear wife wanted, photo to follow.

About the photo, it also includes the security monitor of which I had been watching the people working at the neighbor's house. They are attempting to level up her house and in doing so, that have to dig under the cement floor to install the support needed.

I did read some of the bible study notes and as usual read from the bible parts that are not related to the bible study.

We did set outside a little while before I headed out to the bible study meeting.

Today’s events; I need to go to the store and get a couple of grocery items, if all goes well I could attempt to remove more dead vines from the number 2 berry bed. I have no big plans other than those.

                Good morning.

                Yesterday was a do-nothing day, we had lunch at the cracker store, my favorite wife worked on some fall decoration in the house, and I did the washing of the clothes. I did get to read more from the Charlie Kirk book, and we did set outside later in the afternoon. All in all, a quiet day.

                I have some yard work to do now that the rain seems to have stopped for a while, the grass will need to be mowed sometime this week.

                I have some paperwork that I need to go through, but I don’t enjoy doing that. Our cleaning lady texted us saying she was not feeling well and can’t come today, she will come tomorrow.

                I have bible study this evening so I will need to review the notes and questions before I go to the meeting.

                I want to get started in the front yard before the sun gets too high so I will say have a blessed day and stay safe in all you do. We will keep you in our prayers.

Good morning to you and yes, we had rain. We want to show you the amount of rain received over the last 4 days.

                We had a good day yesterday as we had lunch with Dave, Claire, Gabi, Alex and Bryce. Good food and lots of good conversations with them and we were celebrating Dave and Claires anniversary. Lots of conversation about Gabi and Bryce upcoming wedding.

                The rest of the day we were doing very little as My favorite wife worked in some fall decorations and I did get to read some the Charlie Kirk book. I did get a cat on my lap yesterday and I have a photo. She will get on my lap but not Donna’s lap.

                While Molly was laying on my lap the dog Tres was sleeping near us on the floor.

We sat outside for a while yesterday afternoon and it was cool and windy, but the rain had let up at that time.

Today we will likely go out for lunch, and I have no plans after that. We hope you have a blessed and safe day filled with happiness.

                Is it a good morning? Well, it is raining and I think that makes it a good morning. This rain is what I describe as, “A Missouri Rain”, slow, area wide, and long lasting. We now have 2.5 inches of water in the rain gage, and it is still raining. I can almost hear the ground saying thanks.

                Yesterday we did very little. We did drive up the Wally world and do some shopping there. I got an item and my favorite wife got a couple items, then we went into Waco to the hardware store where I bought a couple things for my favorite wife and I received a free 5 gallon bucket.

Back at home my favorite wife made a cherry cheesecake which I plan on enjoying today. We did set outside and enjoyed the lite rain yesterday afternoon.

Today our big plans are to celebrate Dave and Claires’ 23^rd wedding anniversary. We plan to go into Waco and have lunch together.  

Ok, all this data entry is tiring me out so I will say, have a blessed and safe day and we will keep you in our prayers.

          We got some rain again yesterday, so it is another good morning.

            I have not yet been outside this morning so I can’t say how much water is in the rain gage, but yesterday afternoon when I last checked the gage it had 1.75 inches in it. ½ inch was received on Wednesday and 1.25 inches receive yesterday.

            I did go out to the front porch early in the afternoon as I thought it would be a good day to read and enjoy the light rain. There were two problems. First the breeze was sending a mist on me and the book, second, I became sleepy due to the quiet time, and the light rain was too relaxing. I went back in and hopped onto the ole recliner.

My favorite wife and I sat out on the front porch yesterday afternoon and enjoyed the light rain. There were no drones flying as it was raining, there was no traffic either. We did discuss some of the bible study homework I had yesterday. Time together without a lot of things happening is good.

Today I may go to the store as my favorite wife has a couple things that she wants, and I need to defrag the coffee maker, so I need to go to the store also.

                Here we are on the first day of October and we seem to be starting a day with possible rain, so we wish everyone a good morning.

                Speaking of rain, my old rain gage had one half inch of rain in it yesterday when I got home from rehab. Yes, it rained while I was working out and I did not get to enjoy it.

                I did not need to take Alex to school today as his parents are off work and they will take him. Alex went to take his driver license test yesterday, he passed the written part and had all the necessary paperwork, but they would not do the driving part as they said there was lightening in the area and that is unsafe to take the driving part of the test. He is going back next Tuesday for the driving part of the test.  

                Today’s plans, I should go to the store for a couple grocery items.

                Yesterday’s dental appointment went well; it was just a cleaning.

                My favorite wife allowed me to take her to town yesterday after my rehab experience. She was able to find and purchase a new purse, and we looked in a couple stores for a skirt but did not find one. We went to the eyeglasses place and I ordered a couple pair of glasses. On the way home we stopped at the George restaurant where we had supper.

                We did set outside as usual yesterday afternoon with the main topic from the bible, “Judging others”. If you take a moment and consider what is judging others, you might find that you have or might judge others.

                This is the last day of this month, and it is supposed to rain. That all being true, I will wish you a happy good morning.

                Big events from yesterday, we did go into Waco and had a sandwich for lunch, we did visit a store where we purchased a few vegetables, and then we went to a big store where my favorite wife looked for a purse. She did get a new blouse but did not find the purse.

                Today’s possible events; take Alex to school, go to the dentist’s this morning, go to rehab after lunch and then go back into Waco where I might purchase some new glasses and my favorite wife can look for a new purse and a new skirt. I should go the grocery store as there are a couple things I need, but will I have the time?

                Well, I need to go brush my teeth again and head over to the dentist.

                The morning has started off well, I did get Alex to school on time, and we wish you a good morning.

                Rehab yesterday went well; I did go to Bible study an hour early yesterday afternoon as each class had some food to eat and we had time to talk about things. The bible study lecture and class were good.

                Today we have no real plans, we might go into Waco and visit the hardware store.

                We are supposed to start getting rain tomorrow evening and they are predicting a lot of heavy rain. We hope there will be no flooding and that no one gets hurt in a storm or flooding.

                Alex is scheduled to take his driver’s test tomorrow; we hope the rain holds off until after the driver’s test. Alex is wearing his ROTC dress uniform at school today, as I understand it, all the group leaders wear the dress uniform.

                I need to take a break before I start my bible study homework, so have a blessed day and stay safe in all you do. You are in our prayers.

                Good morning to you on this Monday morning.

                Allow me to explain what we did yesterday, which was nice and relaxing. We did go to lunch, and we did need to wait to get seated and that was not relaxing. We did go about 30 minutes later than usual but it did not help us get seated any earlier, we will not do that again.

                We returned home and at about 2:00pm we went to the front porch and sat. Setting outside gets us away from the TV and we have more direct conversations. Now I should note that I took my book from Charlie Kirk and I read it a large portion of the time that we sat out. I am not a good reader and I have never been. If I read slowly and stay focused I do well, but if I hurry, I miss read words and these words are usually the smaller words which can make the meaning of a sentence completely wrong.

                The Weather was hot but not too hot and there were breezes most of the time. Very little traffic and there were not a lot of drones flying over. One of our discussions was about the book I am reading. The main subject of the book is the Sabbath and why it is not only religious it is also good for one’s mental and physical health. There are many topics in this book, and I do find it very interesting.

                I did get Alex to school on time today; he does go to take his driving test this Wednesday and then if he passes, he should be driving himself to school.

                I do go to rehab today and we do have bible study this evening. There is a fellowship this evening and that means we need to be there an hour early to have some pizza and some social time with the group.

                Good morning

                It is “Sunday” and I wonder why they named it “Sunday”. Was it because the sun started shining that day, so it was named Sun Day.

                Speaking of the sun, there was a full moon last night and it was known as “the harvest moon”. My favorite wife and I did set outside and observed the rise of “the harvest moon”. We do not usually watch the moon rise, so the evening was doing something we don’t normally do.

                My favorite wife allowed me to take her out for lunch yesterday. The food and service were good, and we enjoyed the time together.

                Alex did get the yard mowed and trimmed, not everything needed to be mowed or trimmed due to the drought. I removed some of the dead from the number 2 berry bed but there is still much more to remove. Yes, I did have some blood on my arm from the stickers.

                 As we sat outside yesterday afternoon the weather was good, the temp was comfortable, we did not need to run the big ole fan as there was a breeze most of the time. We both noticed that the neighborhood was even quieter than usual with only a bird or two chirping. There were almost no vehicles driving on the street and a couple did walk down and back up the street pushing their baby carriage.

                No big plans for Sun Day other than we will likely go to the cracker store for lunch. I may wait and go about 30 minutes later than usual in an effort to mis part of the crowd. We have noticed that about 30 minutes after we are seated the number of people in the building seems to be less. Less people might mean we get a quicker table, so I might go a little later.

                We made it to another Saturday morning and we want to say, “good morning to you”!

                What did the Ole Fords do yesterday? Well, we did go to the store to get a couple items that my favorite wife wanted and then we returned home where we ate our leftovers from Thursday nights meal at the restaurant.  

                After a short rest period, you know I need a rests period after each meal, I then went to the store to get a few grocery type items. Items procured I returned home where I attempted to do my daily bible study. This was one of those days that I did not seem to have all the answers. I then decided to read from the Charlie Kerk book, I am a little more than halfway through it. I usually sit down to read and then something interrupts my reading, you know, like I need to vacuum the floor…

                Later we sat outside with a friend, and it was a nice afternoon. Heck, the temp was nice enough and there was a breeze, so we did not need the big ole fan blowing air on us. It seemed as if we were watching the sky yesterday and there were some odd clouds and a trail from a jet flyover left a trail. Not either of the photos are as good as what we saw in the sky.

  

                The jet trail at first looked like a rocket launch then it kept getting wider and it was looking like a road as it got wider in the sky. You need to be there to really enjoy yesterday’s sky.

                We did learn from our friend who has been coming over most Friday afternoons that she will no longer come over on Friday to sit outside with us. It seems as if it is difficult for her to drive over here due to all the traffic, you know, people getting off from work and school being out that time of day. She has decided to come over on Saturday afternoon as there is less traffic.  

                I have asked Alex to come over and do some yard work today so I will need to go get him. There is some mowing and trimming of the grass and the big job is removing dead from the # 2 berry bed.

                Well, I guess that is it for now, we pray for a blessed day for all and that we stay safe in all we do. We will keep you in our prayers.

                It is still dark as I wish you a good morning and our lawn sprinkler is running. They say we have a much better chance of rain next week.

                 Have now returned from taking Alex to school and the sun is coming up.

                Yesterday I was able to water the three berry beds yesterday morning, they look bad and need a good rain to help them live. Watering helps, but we need the rain.

I did get to the rehab yesterday afternoon and all went well.

We went out to supper with our neighbors from down the street, supper was good conversations were nice after eating we returned home with some leftovers which I put in the refrigerator. We then headed over to the school for the concert. The music was good and we enjoyed it. We were able to make it home safe and sound after the concert.

                Today's possible events, I might go to the store for a few groceries, I might take my favorite wife to the store for a couple items that she needs. I should have leftover food for lunch today.

                If it were to be cloudy later today, I might attempt to start removing the dead vines for the number 2 berry bed. If not, I might be able to talk Alex into doing the work on Saturday.

                Hello and good morning to you!

                Big events yesterday were; getting the oil changed in the Fords new Chevy. This was the first time the oil was changed, and it was a free service. It took almost two hours to change the oil and rotate the tires. After that time sitting and waiting, I decided on the way home I would get my hair cut. The hair cut was completed in less than 5 minutes.

After the haircut, I did stop and got some food for lunch as I headed home. I did almost nothing the rest of the day and my wife was going through some old items most of the day. We did set outside and the weather was not as hot as it has been and there was some breeze blowing which helped. It did seem as if the birds were all flying everywhere and making a lot of sounds.

Today at about 2:00 this afternoon I get to go to rehab for my foot, then arriving back at home we will be heading out for our early supper with friends, then after supper we will go to the concert at the high school as Alex will be performing. As you can see, it is a quiet morning and a busy afternoon.

Each morning when I leave the house heading over to get Alex the sun is not yet up and the sky is often beautiful with various shades of pink against a very bright blue sky. I have taken photos, but they do not seem to show the real beauty of the morning sky.

                We hope everyone is having another good morning.

                Yesterday we did go into Waco and again shopped for a dress for my favorite wife, and again we did not find what she was looking for.

We were able to have a sandwich for lunch, and we dropped by the small grocery store where I purchased some cookies for the dog Tres, I also got some Brockley. We like a Brockley salad here at the Ford homestead.

Back at home I worked on the paperwork that had covered my desk. I paid a couple bills and reviewed the insurance bills for the home and car. I called the insurance place and asked why my bill was so high, and they said because you have a claim.

I also had a bill for $25.86 from our doctor so I called about that and found out it was an error and I did not need to pay it.

I did get a photo of some acorns that I removed from the walk (20 just on the walk), they are large acorns even though they do not look too large. These along with other acorns fell the other day when we were supposed to get some rain and all we got was acorn rain.

                I have gotten Alex to school, and I have an appointment to get thew oil changed in the Fords new Chevy this morning, so I need to stop and get started. The appointment is at 9:00am and that is when I usually start my bible study homework. Wow, I will be off my normal schedule.

                Good morning…

                There was some rain in the area yesterday, but we did not get any at our house. We did get the wind, and we have a few sticks in the yard and when the wind began blowing, we had some acorns rain down from the trees.

                I did go to the rehab yesterday, and they made me work my ankle a lot. Heck, I have a list of things I need to do here at the house for my ankle. There is never any rest of us ole senior people.

                As I was leaving to go to bible study yesterday evening, I noticed the air conditioner truck pull up in front of a good friend’s house. I thought “he will not be at bible study tonight”, but he did get there, he was a little late.

                Bible study went well but I do not like the room our class is in. We have too many men for this small room. There is no space between the chairs at the tables and I do like a little extra room in the classes. Other than that, the class was good. During the lecture we usually take a few notes, and I quickly learned I had lost the pin which I had brough with me, so no notes were taken by me.

                Back at home after the bible study, my favorite wife and I did have a bowl of ice cream before I headed off to bed.

                Today I need to take Alex to school, and I have a bunch of papers here on my desk that I need to go through and take care of. I will not comment on the fact that Fall starts today.

                Good morning to all we hope your day starts well. School is out today so I will not need to take Alex to school.

                Yesterday was a nice day, we went to the cracker store for lunch, and we did need to wait for a table. I believe if we went about 30 minutes later, we would not need to wait to be seated as the crowd seems to dissipate about 11:30.

                Back at home we did very little in the way of work I didn’t even wash the clothes so I will do that today. We sat on the front porch for a while as I wanted to read, and I like to be outside. It was hot and I did get to read, but after a while I became sleepy and we headed back into the house. About 4:30 we again went outside and sat, this time at the driveway with the big ole fan blowing.

                The smell of something dead was still in the air. I did check in our plants to see if there was something dead in them, but I found nothing. The dead smell would come and go with the wind. We are not sure where the smell comes from, and no, it is not from the trash container, I checked.

                Let’s look at today: I have an appointment with rehab today for my ankle and we have the cleaning lady coming to our house, I need to get the clothes washed and it is also Bible study night. Seems like lots to do.

                We wish you a good morning even though the sun isn’t up yet.

                Major events from yesterday: I did get started early pulling weeds from the flower bed in the front yard. I worked at the weed removal until the sun began to shine on me and I then stopped. I then procured the battery powered string trimmer from the shed, and I removed some more vines that were coming onto the walkway and the porch.

                Do I have a photo of a blooming flower?

                The bloom is from a vine in the Jasmin bed, it is not supposed to be there, but it was pretty and very small.

                As I was working outside early in the morning, I heard what sounded like gun fire off in the distance. I then assumed it was dove hunters attempting to kill some doves. In the olden days I would do that but now days I don’t see any need to harvest the doves.

                Speaking of doves, they are enjoying the crushed pecans on the street in front of the neighbor’s house. The pecans fall on the street, and the cars crush then so the birds have lunch. The doves also seem to enjoy the bird bath in our back yard.

I put the tools away and since I was hot and sweaty I decided to continue some outside work and I watered the number two and three berry beds. I had watered the number one bed the day before.

That work completed, I decided to attempt to cool down and take a shower. I was able to get some bible reading completed before we headed out to Waco for lunch. Our lunch was very good and as usual the service was also good.

Lunch was completed, we then drove further into Waco as I wanted to purchase a bottle of adult beverage, then we headed for home.

Back at home I did nothing, and my favorite wife worked on some fall decorations.

Later in the afternoon we did set outside and the neighborhood was very quiet as usual with only a few drones flying over.

There is a smell of something dead in the area and we have been smelling it for the last two days. The smell goes and comes due to the wind. I have asked a couple neighbors if they have smelled it and only one neighbor who is next door to us said she had.  We do not know where it is coming from our exactly what the smell is.

Today’s probable event: lunch at the cracker store and I hope to get to read more from the Charlie Kirk book. I am about halfway done with the book.
