            Good morning to you all, we have a dry start to the day, and it should be dry and warm all day. We had a good day yesterday which required very little work. We did get the Plumeria replanted, our friend and flower expert came over and did all the work. Now I wills see if I learned anything as I will attempt to replant two more. First, we will need to get two more flowerpots, the kind with a large bottom to keep them stable in the wind. We will also need a bag of special dirt which I will mix with "coco coir". I hope I can remember all the things I have to do.

I went to the hardware store and bought one of the items I needed for the replanting, and my favorite wife went with me, so we went to the Chicken place to get some chicken and iced tea. I harvested some black berries yesterday and during the process I discovered a flower growing in the black berry vines, and yes, I have a photo.

             Changing the topic: Alex is at ROTC camp so if the front yard gets mowed, I will need to do it. The back 40 still is too wet so it will not be mowed today.

            We had a good friend come over and set with us yesterday afternoon and as usual we had some lively conversations, yes, we even discussed the bible.

            We will likely go into Waco for lunch and maybe even stop at the cheap store on the way home. We hope you have a good day and that we all stay safe in all we do.

            We are starting this day off a little later than normal, as we had a thunder storm come through this morning about 3:00am. I have not yet checked the rain gage but it did rain. Tres don’t handle the thunder very well so I got out of bed and we went into the front room and turned the TV on. Tres was laying on my left foot and I put my right leg over Tres’ back and that seemed to comfort him. The storm was gone and the thunder had stopped about 4:30 so I then returned to bed. Now I wish you a good morning.

            Yesterday I did harvest more black berries and I also removed some Poopa-Loopa and other debris from the back 40. During the process I noticed some fire ants starting to populate the yards, so I got the fire ant killer and spred it on the mounds that I found.

            I did get on the trike and go for a ride yesterday, the weather was not too hot and the ride was nice. We did go out for supper (date night) yesterday evening and returning home we sat outside and enjoyed the nice weather and also an adult beverage.

            I did get one of my old short stories and read it yesterday. It is only about 6 pages long and it is about “The Watchers” and is named, “The Last Watcher”. Now if you don’t know what a watcher is, then you could check the Bible to learn about “The Watchers”. Reading the story, I seen an additional note indicating I had not yet completed the story. I guess I can’t win them all.

            I need to go to the hardware store today and try to purchase something that I have no idea what it is. It is used in the flower pots for Plumerias, I just got a note saying I don’t need to go to the store, our friend Keith said he has all we need and he will come over this afternoon.

            I do need to go to the cleaners and pick up some clothes, there is always something taking my money.

Hello and good morning to you, we hope you are having a good day. We did have heavy rain yesterday starting at about 10:00am, and the good part there was not any heavy wind.

            I did get Alex to school, and he was able to get his ROTC marine uniform checked out and they issued him a Sea Bag to carry his clothes in during the three-day camping trip. They will be leaving onFriday morning at about 5:00am. He did not want any chicken for lunch, so I took him home and then I went to the chicken place and got me and my favorite wife some chicken.

            Different topic: our pot hound Tres was in the garage, and he came to the door wanting in and that is when I could hear the thunder. He and Molly do not like thunder.

            We sat outside for a while yesterday afternoon on the front porch, it was cool and there was a nice breeze, about 4:00pm we went inside so we could feed the animals.

 It was decided that we would go out together and harvest some black berries in the back 40, and as soon as we started outback it began to rain. We were able to get more than a quart of berries even though it was raining, and yes, we did get wet. We did not sit out later in the evening due to the previous rain and the thunder from some storms that were getting close.

My plans for today are nothing currently. We will likely go out for a date night, aka supper, and I might go to the star coffee place for a cup of real coffee, I have enough points so it would be free.

We still have water in the back 40, so it will be wet when we attempt to collect more black berries. That wet ground might mean I will not be able to mow this weekend.

We are starting with a good morning here at the Fords, we hope you are also. The weather people are predicting storms this afternoon and possibly this morning. We do not need any more storms.

            Another thing that we do not need is more commercials on the TV. Heck, the commercials are only one crummy thing about TV, the local news is not news, it is mostly repeating the same things that were on the day before. This morning, I attempted to watch the so-called news, and they had one thing that I had not seen yesterday evening on the so-called news. By the way, when I watch TV or when I listen to the radio in the car and the commercials come on, I shut the sound off. I do my best not to listen to commercials.

            Yesterday was a kind of do-nothing day for us, we did our reading, and we watched too much TV, I did harvest some black berries even though the back 40 still had water in it. We sat on the front porch for a while in an effort to get out of the house and away from the boring TV. Eventually, we did reenter the house, and I was allowed to feed the dog and cat. All that work completed we proceeded to go back outside for happy hour.

            Today I will need to take Alex to school for one hour. He must have his military clothes checked before he heads out for the Marine ROTC camp this Friday. I think the camp is only about 3 or 4 days. He and I will probably go to the chicken place for lunch today.

            I have no other plans for today, but I will need to do my own mowing this Saturday as our yard man Alex will be out of town.

            Good morning to you, we hope you have a good day, and we also hope that you will be nice to others even if they are not nice to you.    

            I am entering this info on Monday the 26^th, as it is still raining outside and I need something to do. I have already read from the bible, and I have had lunch, heck I have had two naps this rainy and stormy Monday. I had gotten tired of sitting around doing nothing so I looked out back, thinking that since the rain had let up, I might go out and harvest some black berries. There is standing water in the back 40 so that put a halt to that thought. Oh, I checked the rain gage this morning and we had 1.5 inches of rain in it, at lunch when I checked it, we had 2 inches of rain, and it is still raining.

            Not being able to go out back I decided to go out-front and pick up some leaves from the yard. I started the process and then I could hear the thunder, and it was coming close. I was able to get some of the leaves but then it started to sprinkle rain, so I headed back inside, and as I walked, I found a dead limb in the Jasmin bed that was about 6 feet long.

            Back in the house I decided to put some of this not too interesting info on the new computer, you know, it gave me something to do.

            OK, it is now Tuesday morning and I am again at the computer adding info. I did check the rain gage this morning and now we have 3 inches of rain in it. We did have a storm come through the area last night, and we got a lot of rain and wind.

            Big plans for today, basically another wet and do very little day. I did not get out to the black berries yesterday but I hope to be able to get there some time today. My favorite wife and I might go to the restaurant for breakfast this morning, they have very good omelets.

            I guess that is all for now, we pray that everyone has a good day and that we all stay safe in all we do.

            It is a good wet morning and it is Memorial Day. We want to say thank you to all who were, or are, military service members.

            It has been raining here for about 2 hours this morning and it is still raining, we have now had 1.5 inches in the ole expensive rain gage. The street looked like a small river this morning as the water flowed down the hill.

            School is out so I do not need to leave the homestead today, it is raining so I need to stay inside all day.

            I did finish reading the bible again and today I will begin reading what ever I want to read, as stated earlier, not reading in order.

            I guess that is it for now, have a good day and please stay safe in all you do.

            Good morning to all, we had a good day yesterday and hope we all have a good day today. Memorial Day is coming, so we suggest that you say, "thanks for your service", to any veterans you know.

            Yesterday was a productive day here at the Fords homestead, Alex and I did some yard work. Yes, I said we did some yard work. We got Alex here about 9:00 am and he started on the front yard while I started on the ditch. When he finished with the front yard he came to the ditch and began to help me. I did most of the work along and with in a bout 8 feet of the fence and Alex did the rest of the work.

Ditch completed, Alex started on the back yard so I took the walk behind mower and mowed the areas that can't be mowed with the riding mower. Alex mowed the back 40 and I did some trimming, and Alex finished the trimming after mowing.

Work completed we tried to clean up a little before heading into Waco for lunch. Lunch was good and we did get Alex home safely.

Back at our house I did need a little time of rest in the ole recliner. Rest completed, I jumped out of the ole recliner (jumped means, I was able to slowly get my ole body up from the chair) and went out back getting ready to wash the dog.

Washing completed, we proceeded to get ready to sit outside and again rest away from the TV. A friend came over and brought a pizza, we enjoyed the free food before sitting outside.

Finally, we were outside in the rest position when the friend brought up a question about the bible. This question was about the rapture and the conversations went on for a while. I might need to look a couple things up in the bible. Speaking of the bible, I should finish reading the bible again today. Yes, I have read through the entire bible several times, and when finishing this time, I have decided to stop reading in order and just read what I want to read.

I guess I will stop now and consider going out for lunch with my favorite wife. We hope everyone has a good day and that we all stay safe in all we do.

            Well, it is a good morning after a good night's sleep. We went to the graduation ceremony for Midway high school and saw Gabi cross the stage and get her diploma. There were about 600 students, and I have a photo.

            We got home about 9:00pm and we decided to sit outside for a while. At about 10:00 fireworks at the school started and we were able to see some of the fireworks. Photo to follow.

            The photo isn't too good, but you get the idea.

            Our plan for today is to get Alex over here for some mowing and trimming weeds in the ditch.

            Yesterday I did a clean up of black berry plants. That means I removed a bunch of grass that were in the pots with the berry plants. They look better without the grass, and we plan to give them to a friend.

            We are starting a good morning this Friday. There was a storm that passed by last night, we did get some wind, and we heard thunder, but we did not get any rain, so I have the lawn sprinklers running this morning. I will need to remove debris from the yard today, the wind last night did deposit small sticks from the trees.

            I guess I will review the yard this morning to determine whether it needs to be mowed this Saturday, one of the neighbors mowed his yard yesterday, and you know me, I don't want to let the neighbors get a head of me.  

            We did very little yesterday, I did get Alex to school and back home safely, we did go out to supper yesterday and it was good. My lunch today will be left over from last night's supper, as the portion for supper was very large.

            I did get several ouches yesterday as I attempted to gather some berry from the berry bed. The birds are eating their portion of the berries as usual, but we are getting plenty of berries.

            We are into another good morning here at the Ford Homestead, we hope your day is going well.

            My events of yesterday: Alex to and from school, we did go by the chicken store so he could get his lunch and then head for his home. I did stop at the bank for our weekly stipend then I was able to rest from all the stressful morning events.

Rest period over, I decided to dig a couple holes in the ground if it wasn’t too wet, and plant a couple flowers. The dirt was not too wet and I was able to plant the two flowers. Now I need to decide what to do with the dirt I dug up. When it dries completely so I can make it into loose small particles I will spread it around the area it came from.

 

I then watered the plants that I had just planted and all the flowers in flower pots. I was able to say ouch a few times yesterday afternoon as I harvested some black berries. This was so much work that I needed to have a rest period, so my favorite wife and I did sit outside for a while under the blue sky, there was a couple small clouds but not very many.

 

Today plans: Alex to and from school.

            Good morning to you and to the rest of the world too. We hope you have a good and prosperous day. It is cool outside this morning and that is a nice way to start the day.

            I did very little yesterday and my plans for today are about the same. I will need to get Alex from school today, as they are taking finals and they only go half a day. He has already told be that he will probably want to go to the chicken store for lunch when he gets out of school.

            Now lets get to me and my interesting actions of yesterday, photos will be provided. First, I have a photo of some flowers, then there is a selfie of me with a friend (the friend is a sunflower plant) then there is a photo of my hand as I was resting on the front porch yesterday.

            Let’s go political for a moment:

            In our elections there are two basic parties and they for the most part disagree on everything. All their presentations prior to the elections are how great they are, and how bad their opponents are. Now I don’t have any real problems with the candidates saying whatever they believe, as I for the most part do not listen to them. The news will point out the main topics of those who are running for office.

            The problem as I see it is, they continue to act as candidates wanting to present their ideas and commenting on how bad the other party is, even after the election is over. These people are no longer candidates; they are now elected officials. I personally think they should drop the party lines after the election and become our leaders, all of them working together to make things better for the nation and for the people. Parties fighting get nowhere, leaders working together might just make this nation even greater.

            Two groups of paid people who should be working together as leaders, but they are acting like kids in kindergarten.

            Well, I guess I have said what I think, we hope you have a safe and good day.

            Good morning to everyone. It’s not raining this morning even though it rained yesterday and we did get 1/2 inch of rain, so it must be a good morning.  Speaking of rain, we received 1/4 inch of rain yesterday which means I did not need to run the lawn sprinklers today, I saved money.

            With the Thunder and lightning yesterday, I stayed inside the house most of the time, our dog Tres and our cat Molly, stayed close by during the thunder, neither one of them like the thunder.

            No big events planned for today, I will take Alex to school I'm also going to take Dave to the dentist and drop him off and when they get done I'll pick him up and take him back home.  Wow it sounds like I’m going to have a real exciting day.

            I have picked about a quart of blackberries so far, there are a lot of red ones out there, they just need to turn black and yes, I say ouch very often.

            My favorite wife and I did sit outside yesterday afternoon, it was cloudy and then clear and then cloudy again, it even sprinkled once, but it was a good quiet afternoon.

            We are offering you another good morning and hopefully a good day.

            The are saying we have another chance for storms this afternoon. Rain would be appreciated but the storms would not be.

            We had a good day yesterday and a big part was the lunch with our grandkids. Having some time with them and hearing their thoughts and plans was very nice. The lunch was also good even though we had to wait to be seated.

            My favorite wife and I did sit outside for a while, heck she even allowed me to do some work on one of her flower beds. If I have the energy today, I might dig two holes in the ground and plant two flowers that we have in pots. Yes, that would be a lot of work for an ole senior person but my favorite wife has approved the work load.

            I need to get the Alex to school, counting today he has two more days of regular schedule the three half days and it is over. Also, the seniors will be graduating this Wednesday night which includes our granddaughter Gabi, and the graduation will be at the football stadium, we hope it don’t rain.

             Good morning to one and all, this morning I am trying something new, and it is not typing but entering by voice only.  I will let you know at the end of this how it works, and right now it seems like it is working OK.

            Let's see what we did yesterday, I did take the trailer over to David's house we did haul away all the trash bags full of leaves, Alex did come over to our house later and did all the mowing. After work finished, we did head into town for a sandwich and after eating, we were able to get Alex home safe and sound.

            I do have a couple photographs to share with you; one appears to be a fire in the trees, the other appears to be my wife on her hands and knees in the backyard either praying or pulling weeds.    She may have been praying that the chiggers would leave her alone.  I picked up what she pulled out of the ground.

 

                    Well, it seems as if the dictation thing works, I have not been typing, it does not actually give me punctuation marks so I must fill those in, and it will suggest different words and I guess maybe that's about it.  I have also found if you wait a while it will fill in some punctuation marks, and it corrects my wording.

            We do have plans today to take Alex and Gabi to lunch with us, that way we have a little time to be with our grandkids.

            It is morning and storms are still available for today. The rain and storms missed us yesterday and we hope they will stay away again today. We have taken the trailer to Daves house and hauled off a bunch of leaves that are in bags. After that, we brought our yard man Alex to our house and will allow him to mow the front and back yards. He is working the back 40 now.

            I noticed yesterday that three of the neighbors were out mowing their yards, I assume they were attempting to beat the coming rain and storms. I considered it and I picked up sticks and other debris from the yard in prep for the possibility of mowing, but I would like Alex to do the work, and he likes the pay.

            Speaking of pay, Alex has been offered a summer job as a lifeguard at a local swimming park. He has taken classes and has been certified as a scuba diver, so I assume he can swim.

            I did get other photos of blooming flowers. If you look at the moon plant bloom, (the single white bloom,) and if you look above the white bloom you may see two additional soon to be blooms. Well, they are here, they bloomed last night. There are 3 more soon to be blooms on this plant and remember, they only bloom at night.

            We have a good start to the day and a good morning, but this afternoon may not be good due to rain and storms.

            Today’s post has nothing to talk about, as yesterday was a due nothing day. We did get to go out for supper and that is about all we did. We did sit outside in the 3-inch rain fall. Let me explain the 3-inch rain fall, when the rain fell on the drive way the drops were 3 inches apart, thus a 3-inch rain fall.

            I have a photo I will post.

             Many years ago, when I was a real person, I took a class on photography and one of the first things they taught us was to consider the back ground when taking a photo. So, in this photo I see a red rose and the back ground just states that the photo was taken near the walk in the front yard.

            I will stop for now and consider getting the Alex to take him to school. School ends next week.

            We did not get as hot yesterday as they were predicting but it was still pretty warm and today should be a repeat of yesterday, so, have a good morning and a good day.

            My favorite wife suggested that I could remove a rose bush from a pot and plant it in the ground. I attempted said project and I found that the dirt in the glass pot was still wet so I could not loosen the dirt enough to get the bush out of the glass pot. Notice that I referred to the glass pot several times, if the rose was in a plastic pot I could get it out easier and I would not be so concerned with damage to the pot. Hopefully, the dirt will dry up and I will then be able to remove said rose.

            I want to get Alex over here on Saturday morning to manicure the lawn, and as usual they are predicting possible rain and maybe a storm or two in the next few days including Saturday. I will need to bring the Ford’s ole trailer up to the gate today or tomorrow as Dave has a bunch of leaves bagged up and we will take them to the third Saturday dumpsite.

            When we are at the dump site, I plan to show a city worker that I know, the effect on the ditch that his staff had this week when they were spraying for weeds. I have a photo of the damage to the ditch and you might say big deal it is a ditch, but either I or Alex has to trim the weeds in the ditch and these large ruts, in places a foot deep, make it difficult to walk and trim weeds.

             The city workers did the same thing a couple years ago and those ruts are still there.

            I guess I should stop and go get Alex, we hope your day is safe and fun.

Good morning to all, it is supposed to be a hot day today and even hotter tomorrow. 

            Let’s see what happened yesterday; well, I did get Alex to school on time and then my favorite wife and I did go out for a very nice breakfast at Georges. The food and service were all good and we got a parking space at the front door.

            Leaving the restaurant, we went to the pharmacy so my favorite wife could get her prescription, then we went to the hardware store so I could get a couple rubber washers. The washers were to be used to stop the string trimmer from leaking gas. 

            Later, after taking a restful nap, I did venture forth out into the back 40, I wanted to see if the rubber washers would stop the gas leak. The gas take cap for some reason would leak and if you attempted to tighten the cap tighter it would pop loose.

            Well, to make a short story longer, the washer that I purchased did not work. I then looked in one of the drawers where I keep miscellanies items, this time I opened the drawer all the way and in the back of the drawer was a box of rubber O-rings. I found one that fit and I tried it and it worked, no gas leak.

            Then things really got crazy and I put more gas in the trimmer and I began trimming. I guess I had to try it out to see for sure that it would not leak. I trimmed many of the objects in the back 40 such as around the black berry beds. I did not trim everything; I will leave the rest to Alex.

            I am changing the subject: from the bible there is a statement, all things are possible if you believe. If you think about believing it can go two ways. “I can do that,” is a positive belief while, “that is too hard I can’t do that”, is a negative belief.

            Let’s consider some runners are getting ready for a race, they all work out and they are all healthy and they are good runners. The difference is often attitude, (aka Belief). Billy Bob says “I will win this race”, while Sam says “I can’t beat Billy Bob”. You are right Sam has already lost due to his belief (aka attitude).

            A positive belief will help you in anything, heck it will help you have more friends, your accomplishments will be major, your life and the life of those around you will be much better. People will want to be close to a positive person, it will help you in your private and business life.

            I believe it is built into the human body, when a person believes that things will happen, and that belief, whether positive or negative belief, it will happen.

Prayer with belief makes things happen.

I also believe if you are thinking “I wish I could do that,” or thinking, “if only I could do…,” there is no belief in those thoughts and it will not come to pass. 

Faith is Knowing; we must believe to a point of knowing we can do it.

            We wish you a good morning and an outstanding day.

            Today’s plans, I will take the Alex to school and then my favorite wife and I may go to the George restaurant for breakfast. The restaurant must have been named after my dad as his name was George.

            Yesterday activities as I recall them: I did not take the Alex to school as he said he did not feel good. I did go out to the black berry beds and did not find any berries that were ripe. I will be saying ouch real soon as there are many berries that are red. I did see the bird that has a nest in the #2 berry vines, and it is a Cardinal. I have a photo of the nest, but it is difficult to see, it is in the center of the photo.

             I also went out to the front Jasmin bed and pulled weeds; I did have my knee pads on so it wasn’t too difficult crawling around the yard. I had a 2-gallon bucket, and I had emptied it twice during the work.

The work completed we did wash the dog out in the back 40. Since it takes a while to get the Tres dried off, we started our outside rest period earlier than usual, you know we along with the dog sat outside allowing time for him to dry off.

Another topic: when we sit outside for our daily rest period, you know time away from the TV, we often see airplanes fly over. Now these are jets and prop planes. Yesterday we decided to count the planes we saw, and we were not just looking at the sky all the time, but we will occasionally look up to see the birds or when we hear a plane. We saw 11 planes fly over and many buzzards or hawks. We did hear another plane but we did not see it so we did not count it.

Now the interesting part of our time outside. We saw a UFO. Whatever this was, it was shiny like a jet plane flying over. Except it was not moving like a plane. We would see the shiny object for a second then it was gone, then we would see it again in the same place in the sky for a second then it was gone. This went on for possibly 15 minutes or more, then it was out of site. I thought it may have been a broken weather balloon that had been damaged. At times when I would see the shiny object, it looked like a shiny “V”. When you see something that is unidentified in the sky it is a UFO. Yes, my favorite wife also saw the UFO.

I had hoped to get a photo of the full moon last night, but it did not happen. We did go outside about the time that the moon was to rise but we did not see it. After a short time, I decided to go into the house for a small bowl of ice cream, then I went back outside but no moon.

Good morning to you and that other person also. We are starting a nice Monday here in Hewitt. We might have a nice day today, but this week is predicted to be a hot and record week for early heat.

                To provide you with yesterday's events, we did very little. We thought we would go to the cracker store for breakfast, assuming that many people would go there for a Mother's Day lunch, we were wrong. It seems as if everyone went there for breakfast. The parking lot was full, I mean there were no parking spaces, and people were parking on the Walmart parking lot and walking to the cracker store. We lucked out as we drove around the store there was a pickup truck pulling out of a space and we pulled in. It took forever to get the food, and we finally were able to go home.

                Back at home it was a do almost nothing day. I did get a part to fix the seat post on the new trike, that took some time, I watered the flowerpots, and we did sit outside for a while. As we sat there a couple came walking down our street with a dog on a leash and Tres began to bark. I could not get him to stop so after they got past us, I did get the shock collar and put it on him. A little later they came walking back up the street and he did not bark at them, and I did not need to shock him, he knew what he had on his neck.

                Now you know what I did or did not do yesterday, my big plan for today is to get Alex to school on time and to possibly pull some weeds from the Jasmine bed.

Hello from the Ford's in Hewitt, and we would like to wish you a good morning and a fine day.

            A quick note as to the events of yesterday, our family did come to the Ford's homestead that is all except Gabi, she was working. We did all go out for lunch and the food was good, but the seating and table was not as good as we would have liked. The service was very slow even though the restaurant did not seem to be overly busy.

            We did have some good conversations prior to the food arriving, when the food was on the table, we all quieten down.

            Later in the day my favorite wife and I sat outside. The weather was odd in that there were clouds at times, and then the sky was blue at times, it was windy some of the time, and calm at other times. A friend dropped by and we enjoyed our time relaxing outside. Before you ask, yes, we did have a few Bible comments aka questions.

            Today is Mother's Day and we wish all mothers a happy and fun filled day. That being the case, my favorite wife and I will go for breakfast this morning rather than lunch as we assume there will be a lot of people there for lunch.

            I will stop for now and wish you a nice morning and hope that we all stay safe in all we do today.
