Well, we made it through another rain filled day, and there was 1.75 inch of water in the Ford’s ole free rain gage. Now I did not check it this morning so there could be a little more in the gage. All that said, “good morning to you, you are my favorite”!
Yesterday: we had planned to go out for a nice lunch with Dave and his family, but with all the rain and weather we decided to postpone until Patrick and Karla could come up and then all of us would enjoy a meal together. Then we decided we would go to the cracker store for lunch and we invited Dave and the family. We knew there would be a wait time but we were not prepared for what happened.
We arrived early hoping we would beat some of the church people, we were wrong. The dining room was filled and the cracker store was full of people waiting to be seated, heck there was many people standing outside waiting to be called.
We went ahead and checked in, needing a table for 6. We stood around for a while waiting. The computer went down and that caused a bunch of problems. To make the story a little shorter, our name got dropped off the seating list, and we finally got back on the list one hour and fifteen minutes later.
To say my favorite wife was mad would be a misstatement, she was very mad. Service was slow due to all the people who were there celebrating Mother’s Day, the food was ok, we were glad to get out of there.
Different topic: it is so nice to be able to sit here at the ole desk and see what is happening outside; by the way, nothing is happening outside because everything is wet. I have no plans for this day, maybe I will think of something to do later.
It was, and is, so wet outside that I did not attempt to pick the black berries yesterday, I will need my rubber boots on to pick them today.
Today is trash day and I have placed my ole string trimmer out by the trash can, I hope the fellow who picks up metal items (aka junk) will come by and take the weed eater.
Wow, I am done for now, I will get away from this stressing key board and see if I can get a little rest. We hope you have a dry day and please be safe in all you do.
Drought gone, rain forest, maybe.
Senior ole person with nothing to do, Don the Ford
May today be better than your best day, but not as good as tomorrow!
