            Hello and good morning to one and all. I am getting a late start to this posting as I slept in this morning. Nice! I have already dropped the kids off at school and have arrived back at home all rested and almost awake.

            Let’s see if the Don did anything yesterday; it seems as if he was able to get the string trimer from the shed and clear out all the growth except for the rose bushes from the back flower bed. This bed is about 6 feet wide and 20 feet long. There are plants the grow in the bed that get about 8 inches tall and spread everywhere. I cut them off at ground level and they will come back when spring arrives.

            Finishing the cutting of the plants I procured the leaf blower and blew all the cutting and leaves out of the bed. To accomplish the removal of the debris I went through the bed several times and the back 40 now has all the debris on it.

            When my favorite wife arrived home from shopping, and we unloaded the groceries from the van, I positioned the Ford’s ole Chevy in the drive way for a wash job. The truck had a bunch of droppings on it and it took some effort on this ole person’s part to get it clean. It does look nice after the wash job. The truck being clean, I decided to go to the bank and cash a check that my wife had received, in the amount of $2.23. My favorite wife had evidently over paid for a prescription and they sent her a check for $2.23. It probably cost more to send the check than what it was worth. I did pick up some clothes from the cleaners while I was out.

            Arriving back at home I presented my favorite wife with her cash. After a short rest we headed out for supper and the food along with the service was good. Arriving back at home we decided to sit outside for a while and enjoy the nice weather.

            Today I have no real plans, but I should have gotten our weekly stipend while I was at the bank yesterday but I forgot. I guess I will stop for now, we hope you have a good and safe day and try to be nice to anyone you come in contact with.

            Good morning at least I think it is, I was able to get out of bed and that is good for me. It is still dark outside but it isn’t cold.

The weather was very nice yesterday so we sat outside for a while. It was quiet for most of the time as we relaxed on the ole swing until the noise began. They have a rocket test site about 10 miles away and they fired off one of the rockets. If you do not live in this area, you do not know how noisy these tests are. The rocket was blasting for about half a minute. The wind was from the right direction and the sound of the blasting was crazy loud. When it stopped the train starts honking its horn as it came through town, yep more noise trying to keep us ole people from relaxing. When the train stopped making noise, then a low flying plane with a loud motor flew over. I guess ole people never get a break.

 

Outside work yesterday: I did get the string trimmer out and trimmed the blocks around the Jasmin beds yesterday. We still have plenty of weeds that need to be trimmed in the back 40 and some other work for our yard man Alex.

 

I did install three of the scrap wood bird houses yesterday, two in one tree and one in the other tree. I just tried to count the number of bird houses we have hanging in trees and elsewhere, elsewhere is the front porch, and I came up with 16 that I know, of if my ole brain is still working.

 

Different topic: I have been going through some ole files looking for things I have written. Some are stories and some are just thoughts I had. When I find them, I have been printing them and putting them in folders. I am at times amazed at what I see, (did I write that) but I do enjoy reading things I have written.

 

Well today I am back on schedule for getting the grandkids to school in a timely manner and hopefully safe. I have no big plans for the day, we will see how the day goes. The weather being warm I may be allowed to go outside and make a mess.

            We wish you a good morning and it is a good morning here at the Ford Homestead. It is a sunny good morning and I do not need to get the grandkids to school today, so I get to stay home and do nothing.

            I did allow the lawn sprinklers to run this morning, as the lawn and everything needs the water. They predict the rain and then it doesn't come so I intercede with the lawn sprinklers. Why do I have to do everything?

            I have thought about attempting to get one of the string trimmers out of the shed today and do some trimming in the front yard. I plan on leaving the ditch to our yard man Alex.

            If I venture forth from the homestead today, I could take a few clothes to the cleaners. I need to get some air filters for the furnace but that seems like too much work for an ole senior person. The Ford's ole Chevy needs to be washed as it has a bunch of droppings on it. Again, too much work for and ole person.

            No one asked, but the bible study class last night was interesting and the discussions were very lively.

            Our weather is getting nice and warm again, I wonder if winter is over or is this just a break for us ole people to enjoy.

            I got a letter to renew my driver's license yesterday and I can do it on line. Wow, nice, I don't need to go to the license office and wait in line. As I understand it, you need an appointment to get the license at the office.

            We hope you have a good morning and a good day. I have an eye doctor appointment this morning so as soon as I drop the grandkids off at school, I must head to the doctor’s office. If the traffic is like normal, and with the fog we have, I may have a problem getting there on time.

            Let’s see what happened yesterday; we did get to go out for lunch, and it was very good. Back at home I rested for a while allowing the food to settle down before heading outside and working my ole body to a point of exhaustion, or maybe I wasn’t exhausted maybe I was just having fun. I did take a few things from the garage back to the shed, attempting to make some room in the garage.

            I did put the piece of plywood on the cart and used it as a table to paint some of the roofs on the bird houses. No, they are not all put together yet, but the roofs are put together and I did paint them. Photo of the cart and how it serves as a table.

            I also swept the garage out and it looks a little better.

            We did receive the two 45-pound cartons (barbell weights) and I did use the two-wheeler to move them from the front porch to the garage. I was surprised that they delivered them on Sunday. 

            My wife sat outside in the warm sun lite while I was working in the garage, and I did sit outside with her after I finished the painting. The temp was in the upper 60s, and the sky was clear, it was a nice day.

            I did run a test of the sprinkler system with each system running for one minute, and they all seem to be working, so I assume the freezing weather did not damage them.

            For today; as I said earlier, I need to go to the eye doctor for my check up as soon as I drop the kids off at school. I need to work on one of the black berry beds and if the weather is good, I might begin that process. The process would be to expand the number 3 bed about 4 feet.

            Good morning to all, it is cool with temps in the 40s and we did not get the rain that had been predicted. I may run a test of the lawn sprinklers this afternoon (one minute per area) to see if they are all still working and if I don’t see any problems, I might let the sprinklers run a normal amount of time after the test. 

            Yesterday’s events; Went to Waco for a sandwich and the lady placed our order as usual, without asking us what we wanted. After eating and talking with the lady for a while we went to the cheap store where I purchased some weed and grass killer. The container has two one-gallon bottles in it, that might be enough for the fence along the ditch.

Back at home I decided to water the plants in the greenhouse, but before I started that I watered the black berry beds. We were supposed to get some rain yesterday afternoon but it had not arrived and I was not sure it would come, so I watered the berry beds. That finished I watered the flowers in the hot house, and I kept the water off the electrical wires.

I did get the two-wheeler from the shed and took it to the garage as I have ordered a present for Alex’s birthday and it weighs 90 pounds. The present is two 45-pound weights for his barbell set and I will use the two-wheeler to move them from the front porch when they arrive.

There was a piece of plywood in the hot house and I moved it to the garage. I found some hinges that I may use on the plywood for the folding table top that I hope to make.

I did pickup sticks and some Poopa-Loopa from the back and front yard. All that work done I went into the house where I had a piece of cherry cheese cake, and it was very good.

Today’s events; we will likely go to the cracker store for lunch and it is supposed to be warm enough this afternoon, that an ole senior person can go outside for a while without freezing.

We have two carts in the Fords ole garage and I have now learned that the plywood that I had intended to use to make a table top for the one cart, has been used in the past as a table top for the other cart, and it still fits on the other cart.

            Good morning, it is Saturday and the cold weather is still hanging around. No, it isn’t as cold as it was (TV said it is 30 and my gage shows 33 degrees) and we are supposed to get up to the mid-40s today.

            I do need to water the plants in the hot house and I will attempt to do that this afternoon when the temp is in the mid-40s. It is supposed to be raining this afternoon which will not help me with the watering but it will help the ground to get over this very cold weather we have experienced. I will need to be careful when watering and not get water on the electrical wires.

            I did come up with a plan to make a table that will sit on top of a cart we have in the garage. The table will be two feet by four feet and it will fold in the middle, for easy storage. Being on the cart it can be moved easily to any work area, and it will be the right height for working while standing. If I put this plan into action, I will provide photos. For that one person who remembers that I had said I was going to make a foot stool for the office, well I haven’t worked on it much, but it is still in my plans.

            Different topic: the other day I had some time as it was too cold to go outside so I reviewed some of the things I had written. Sometimes I start a story and do not finish them, others I finish. I think I might go through these ole stories and after reading them, I might print them just in case someone might want to read one of them. One story is about the beginning of time and how God knows everything, another is about time travel, and there are others.

            I am assuming we will venture into town today for lunch at the sandwich store and as usual we will likely go to the cheap store. Last week we went to the cheap store and picked up a couple items, but when we saw the line at checkout, we decided that we did not need anything. I guess lots of people like cheap things.

            I have not commented on the subject of adult beverages lately. Now if you have been reading the past postings you might remember we had an adult beverage that was not any good and I poured it out. I have not had an adult beverage here at the homestead during happy hour since February 2, 2025. Since then when the weather was warm and we sat outside I was drinking water, and when I am inside, I have water instead of an adult beverage. I heard of people taking a month off from adult beverages so I decided to do the same. I thought to myself do I just like the adult beverage, or, am I addicted. Well, I would say I like the adult beverage as I have not really had any big desire to have a drink. I remember when I was addicted to tobacco (nicotine) now that is an addiction and difficult to get away from. It had been 20 years since I stop the tobacco use, and I am happy I did. Yes, I will probably purchase another bottle of adult beverage for the happy hour when we can again sit outside in the heat and enjoy the afternoon.

            It is again cold in Hewitt Texas and we do wish you a good morning.

            I do have a couple projects that need to be done but that is outside work and I will not be outside working, if I can help it. If it ever warms up again, I will get the Alex over here to help me remove weeds from the ditch and other places.

            I need to get the grand kids to school this morning along with Gabi’s boyfriend. They said the water has frozen in the house where he lives, so he spent the night at Dave and Claires house.

            Wow, it is another cold morning here in Hewitt. It is 16 degrees at this time and that is too cold for me. Allow me to wish you a good morning even though it is too cold outside.

            What did the Don do yesterday, not a lot but it seemed like a lot. I did get the kids to school safely and on time even in the cold weather. Then I went to the dentists for a cleaning and they decided to have me come back in a couple weeks so they can make more money, aka a filling. Then my favorite wife and I went to the foot doctor and he recommended another foot doctor, so we have another appointment in a couple weeks.

On the way home I stopped at the Star coffee place to get a cup and I said to the lady at the window, let’s make this one hot, the last one was not hot. She brought me a cup and asked me to try it and see if it was hot, it was not hot but it was warm. She then offered me a different type of coffee and it was hot. The different type was hot, but not as good tasting as the regular coffee. She did not charge me for that cup.

Then we returned home and I was trying to rest before time to go out for supper, when I got a call from Dave asking if I could get Alex from school. when we picked Alex up at school, we asked him if he wanted us to take him home or did he want to go out to supper with us, he didn’t even think about it and he responded he would go out to supper with us. Supper was good and then we dropped Alex off at his house.

Today, nothing doing except taking the kids to school and staying in out of the cold. We hope you have a good day and stay safe in all you do.

            It is a cold good morning here in Hewitt, 17 degrees as I start this note. We hope everyone can stay inside out of the cold.

            I will start the Ford’s old Chevy and let it warm up before I venture outside, yes, I can start the truck from my ole desk.

            Today I will attempt to get the grand kids to school on time and safe, then I need to go to the dentist for a cleaning, and then my wife has a foot doctor appointment after lunch. It seems like we will be busy even though it is too cold to be outside.

            I have not been outside this morning but I could see on the security monitors that there were some snow flurries, it wasn’t much but it was there.

            The temp in the hot house is close to freezing, we hope the plants are ok.

Morning, is it good morning or just morning? I think it could be either, as it is still dark. I need to get going and get the grandkids in a few minutes, so we are back on a regular schedule. 

I went to the hot house and did some reviewing of the situation, you know we were not getting electric to the hot house due to a tripping outlet. I believe I found the problem, and it was probably caused by me. Ok, it was my fault, I take responsibility!

I found the female plug which is located on the end of the extension cord which comes from the house to the hot house, was wet on the inside, yes, it had water in it. Now for that one person, a female plug is the part that you plug into, while the male plug is the part you push into the female plug.

            Finding the female plug wet, I did everything I could to dry it out. And after a while it was again dry, so I plugged a light into it, and it work without tripping the outlet. I then plugged some other items in and let them operate for a while just to reassure myself I had found the problem. I believe we are now prepared for the very cold weather for the next couple days.

How did the water get into the plug, it happened when I was watering the flowers, I get water on everything.

            Then I decided to remove some of the debris from the back forty, aka sticks. That took a while and the weather was nice enough that I did not need a jacket to work outside. I did get the leaf blower and removed some leaves from the back patio. I also removed a bunch of Poopa-Loopa from the yard. All that work finished, I shut everything up and came to the house in hopes of some rest for this senior person. 

Bible study was very interesting last night as our discussions were lively. After the classroom I decided to leave and not listen to the lecture as I had taken a laxative earlier in the day and I needed to go. I can listen to the lecture this morning on the computer.

I have a photo to present to you, the photo is of the moon as it was hanging on my radio antenna, at least it looks like it was.

            Good morning to you and yes that other person too.

            Today’s plans, I have nothing to do. The kids are out of school so I do not need to pick them up, it is too cold to go outside so I guess I am confined to the house.

            Yesterday we did go to the cracker store for lunch and it was good. I do have a problem with the heat in the ole hot house, for some reason the electrical plug keeps tripping. Now this isn’t a breaker tripping it is the outlet in the wall. These outlets are often used around areas with water like a sink or in the bath room. They are set up to trip if there is any type problem. I wonder if when I was watering the flowers in the hot house, I may have gotten the electrical connection wet. I now have the hot house connected to a different type of outlet and the heat lamps are on. I will do some more checking today.

I did later in the afternoon put together a couple more scrap wood bird houses. It had warmed up enough that I could go into the garage and mess around some. I will need to paint the roofs on these houses before I hang some of them in a tree outback. Others of the scrap wood house’s will be given away.

I think I have all my bible study done except for one question, possibly I will come up with an answer today before we go to class tonight.

            It is Sunday and a good morning even though it is very cold outside and it is predicted to stay cold all day today.

            We did go to the wedding yesterday afternoon and it was very nice. We had a good time with friends after the wedding and the food was also good. I should note; the Ford Curse did prevail during the meal after the wedding. What? You haven’t heard of the Ford Curse, allow me to explain.

            “Ford Curse:” anyone named Ford, or anyone who is eating with a person named Ford, whether at home or at a restaurant, is subject to the Ford Curse. The Ford Curse states, “you will be subject to getting some of the food onto your clothing during the eating process. Not everyone, but someone will likely get food on their clothing.”            Trust me, this is real.

            Today’s events; we will attempt to stay inside where it is warm and not go outside into the cold. Having said that, we will likely go to the cracker store for lunch and on the way drop off a birthday card to Claire. I think she might be 22 years old, again.

            I did go out to the hot house this morning and turned the heater up a little bit, we want to keep it above freezing in there.

            I will stop now, try to stay warm and also be safe in all you do.

            Well, candy and flower day is over, and we are into our Saturday morning. We wish you and that other person too, a Good Morning.

            Even though this is Saturday it isn’t a normal Saturday, as we have a wedding to attend this afternoon. They are providing food this evening so that means we can save some money with free food. We might go into town this morning and if so, we will possibly have lunch at the usual place and the usual time (11:30).

            Did the Don accomplish anything yesterday? Well, he did get a nap, he did water the flowers in the hot house and even though it was cold outside it was warm in the hot house due to some sun light. The first photo is of the Christmas cactus which is still blooming. The second is of some blooming Bougainvillea.

             I did work on a foot stool for here in the ole office, and if I ever get it done, I will show a photo. If I get it done you will think that it is unusual.

I have several scrap wood bird house tops made, not the house just the tops, and I considered painting them yesterday but then decided to do it later. If the weather would warm up, and if I did not have other things to do, I could put the bird houses together.

Did I say we have had some lite rain last night and this morning, well we did get some rain but so for it has not been heavy. We are supposed to have a day in the mid-70s today and then back down below freezing tonight.

            Good morning and happy valentine’s day, we hope you have a nice and enjoyable day.

            It is above freezing outside but it is still cold so I will try to stay inside out of the cold weather. I do not need to take the kids to school today, they are out of school today and Monday. Now my favorite wife and I did very little yesterday although we did leave the house for a few minutes to get a cup of coffee for me, and a glass of tea for her. Back at home we stayed inside out of the cold.

            I think the week of nice warm weather we had kind of spoiled me. I don’t want this cold weather and I am anxious for the real spring to arrive, although I am not looking forward to a hot summer.

            I will attempt to leave the homestead today and take a couple valentine cards to the grand kids. My favorite wife usually goes to town on Fridays and she normally don’t want me to go with her as she considers me as being in the way.

            If it would warm up some I might work on some scrap wood bird houses, but only if it is warm enough.

            I was thinking about a word and how the word can be adjusted. The word is arm. Now most people have two arms, one left and one right. When we add to this word, we get different meanings, like adding pits, we get armpits. Yes, armpits are connected to one’s arm so that makes sense.

When we add a “y” to the word arm we get army. So, one letter changes the entire meaning of the word. We can add “or” to the word arm and we get armor. Now I assume in the olden days they carried metal shields on their arm and that is where armor came from. If we add “ory” to arm we get armory which has nothing to do with your arm.

Consider another word Armageddon, how does that have anything to do with one’s arm? Ok, I will stop with the words, and you can google the word Armageddon, if you do not know the meaning.

            Hello and good morning to you, we hope your day is starting nicely. It is cold and dark this morning and I like warm not cold.

            I did very little yesterday after getting the Alex to school on time, I returned home and did almost nothing. I did sit around for a while yesterday morning then I went to the Bank to get the weekly stipend. Oh, I have news. “Our income tax return is in our checking account at the bank.” I filed early and I now have over $110.00 in my checking account. I was so happy that I now have money in the account that I went to the Star coffee place and got a cup.

Back at home I did my daily reading from the bible and I did my homework later. I do my daily reading from my real bible and I have been using the phone when I work on the bible study homework. I have the bible app in the phone and it is very easy to find the pages I need for the homework.

Today, I plan to check the heater in the hot house, I would water the plants in the hot house today but it is too cold.

            I think it is a good morning even though it is still dark and it is raining. We have received close to an inch of rain and it is appreciated even though the cold weather isn’t appreciated.

            I will attempt to keep this posting short; we, being my favorite wife and I, did go to the eye doctor in temple yesterday morning. The weather was not good, it was raining and there were several areas on the interstate that were foggy. Driving at 60 mph in the rain and fog is not fun or safe. We did have a safe trip to the hospital where the eye doctor is located.

            Arriving at the hospital, I was not sure where we needed to go, as there are many entrances and buildings around the hospital. We drove around looking for the correct entrance. There were no parking spaces anywhere close to any of the entrances, and I did not remember where we had gone last time we were there. I dropped my favorite wife off at a door which I thought might be the correct door, and then I drove around the parking lots waiting on her to call me. It took a while and I went to pick her up. She had a map and they showed her on the map where to go. We tried to follow the map but did not find the eye clinic. We had driven around in the rain on the parking lot for 30 minutes and did not find anything.

            I said let’s go home, it is time for your appointment and we don’t know where to go. I started looking for a way to get off the parking lot which was enormous, and I found the eye clinic. I dropped my favorite wife off and then went to look for a place to park. When I finally had gotten into the building, I learned that they had already called Donna’s name for her appointment. The lady at the desk said they may have taken someone else in your place since you were not here when they called your name, she said she would check and see. The lady walked away from the desk and was gone a couple minutes. When she returned, she said have a seat they will see you.

            They called us back, she went through the normal tests and discussion with the doctor, which took in total a couple hours. Finally, we were done and we headed for home, it was not raining and the drive home was better than the drive down.

            Good rainy morning to all, we have received ¾ inch of rain over night and it is still raining. That is not great as I need to get the kid to school and I don't want them to get wet. Also I will take my favorite wife to the eye doctor this morning and she has a 9:30 appointment. This appointment is in Temple TX which is about 30 miles away so my favorite wife had better be ready as soon as I return home from dropping the kids off at school.

            Yesterday there were some dogs loose in the neighborhood, so we tried to call the animal control people but he / she was out of the office. A neighbor called the police and they eventually sent a officer to pick them up. We hope they go to their home safely.

            I did go to the star coffee place for a free cup of coffee yesterday.

We had a very interesting bible study meeting last night even though several were not there. When it is rainy several people do not come to the meeting.

            The sun isn’t up yet, and it is cloudy, but we still wish each of you a good morning. It is now wintertime again here in Hewitt and they are predicting rain with the cool, I mean cold weather.

            My favorite wife and I did almost nothing yesterday except rest, that is after we went to the cracker store for lunch and the Wally world for and item.

            As you may see in the photo I was attempting to relax as I watched the supper bowl, and along that same line we did not have any supper so our supper bowl was empty. Now in truth, I did have a bowl of ice cream before bedtime.

            Now that we are into photos, I have another photo showing that Easter lilies are beginning to bloom.

            Today I plan to get the kids to school in a safe manner and on time, then do little or nothing the rest of the day until bible study time this evening.

            I will attempt to stop now, have a good day and stay safe in all you do.

            It is a bright and cheerful good morning, even though it is cooler than yesterday. Since no one asked why it is a cheerful good morning, and it is hurtful that no one cares, my response is just for me, so do not read the next sentence. My yard man Alex got the front yard cleaned up yesterday, and it looks very nice today!

            My favorite wife and I along with Alex did go into Waco yesterday for lunch and the food could have been better, we forgot to ask for cheese on the sandwiches. We did go to the cheap store where Alex found a 12 pack of tea that he likes to take to school for his lunch and my favorite wife purchased a bag of peppermints. We then headed for Alex’s home and delivered Alex safely to his home, we proceeded to our home where I took a needed nap.

            Later in the afternoon we did sit outside even though it was hot aka 87 degrees.

            Today’s opportunities: have lunch at the cracker store and the rest of the day we have no plans other than resting. Will we watch the football show this afternoon; we may watch a few minutes of it, but it is not one of our major anticipations. Why sit there and watch people who get paid ridiculous amounts of money, run into each other and maybe throw a football.

            Good Saturday morning from us to you unless it is afternoon then good Saturday afternoon. Well, I do get tired of the same things on TV news all the time, and I am now tired of the Superbowl announcements.

            What happened yesterday, you did not ask but I will provide the happening anyway. I received a check in the mail for $16.00, and since I was doing nothing here at the homestead other than thinking about Saturdays work, I decided to get some gas for the string trimmer and some gas for the Ford’s ole Chevy and also stop at the bank and cash that check. Cash in hand I got gas and then went to the Star coffee place for a cup.

            I was able to get back home safely and I then decided to cut a few more pieces of scrap wood and then put the saw in the shed. I also removed the ole red wagon to the back yard and now I have some room in the garage. I have enough scrap wood cut to make 7 more bird residents. I did put half a bird residence together to show Alex how I do it, and maybe, if we have enough time after leaf removal he can build a bird residence.

            Alex is scheduled to be here today and help remove the leaves from the yard, yes, he will get paid and also get a free lunch.

            We did sit outside yesterday and a friend came over and sat with us. We had some good conversations; one was about the mark of the beast. We had sat outside for almost two hours and I was attempting to move my ole body into the house when the neighbor kids came to the fence and they wanted to play in our back yard. I suggested they could play in their own back yard and they said our yard was cleaner than theirs. I said you need to get your grandmothers approval, which they did for 15 minutes, and they began to run and play in our back yard. I had Tres in the house and he was not happy.

When the 15 minutes was up, they came out and wanted to know where our cat Molly was. She was on the front porch and they went running to her which panicked Molly and she out ran them to the garage. She went under the van and hid from the kids.

That was quite a day. Today we will attempt to remove the leaves from the yard, maybe Alex and I will have time to make a bird residence, then go for lunch, maybe stop at the cheap store and then come home and do nothing.

            It is an early good morning to you, I have gotten started early as I will attempt to go get burritos this morning before heading over to get the kids. Yep, they asked that I bring burritos when I pick them up today.

            Now you know why I have an early start for this posting. I did nothing again yesterday, other than blowing leaves and raking leaves in an effort to get them out of the flower beds, so my yard man Alex can come over Saturday morning and remove the leaves from the yard. The new leaf blower worked as expected.

            My favorite wife and I did sit outside yesterday for more than an hour. It was very warm and the sun was shining on us. The temperature set a record yesterday, the old record was set in 1911, (and that was before I was born) of 80 degrees, the new record set yesterday is 82 degrees.

            There are a couple things I might do today, like finish cutting parts for bird houses and put the saw back in the shed. We have an area that needs to be caulked, I will need to find the caulking gun. Never any rest for ole senior people.

            Hay, it looks like another good morning here at the Ford homestead. I just changed my mind; the day is starting off not so good. I am at the ole desk and I have a half glass of milk along with a breakfast sandwich. The cat jumped on the desk, so I move the half glass of milk and sandwich placing it on top of the shredder. The cat jumps off the desk, so I reach for the half glass of milk, and I knock it over onto the floor. Then I began the clean-up. What a start to a day.   

            Yesterday I did nothing again, well I did a couple things starting with a haircut. The lady who cut my hair was the first to ever comment on my neckless. Photo to follow.

            I made the cross out of a piece of scrap wood and I where it most of the time in an effort to let others know I believe in God. This lady was the only person who ever commented on the neckless. Oh, by the way, she did an excellent job on my hair, I now have about half as much hair as before. 😊

After the haircut I went and picked some clothes up from the cleaners. My favorite wife and I went to the Wally world to see if we needed a flu shot, we learned that we did not need it, yet. On the way home I stopped at the chicken place to get some lunch, and I forgot to ask for the senior discount. Back at home I had lunch and then rested from all the morning events.

Resting over, I decided to continue the removal of leaves from the flower beds in the front yard. I was using the leaf blower and a rake. The wind was also blowing so when I used the leaf blower some of the leaves would stay air born and float away. Yep, the street and neighbors got a few leaves. The photo shows some of the leaves that have been removed and there are more to remove.

Tres and I went out into the back 40 to get an item from the shed when Tres began to growl. It was as if he saw a stranger in the yard, so I looked around and I saw it. There was a buzzard in the tree about 10 feet above us. Then the buzzard flew off and Tres ran barking at him.

            After the battery on the blower went dead, and the things put away, my favorite wife and I decided to sit outside for a while. I got a call from Dave saying they were off from work, and he would get the kids from school, so my favorite wife and I decided to go to town and see if we could get another leaf blower. I had checked the prices on the blowers and the price of the battery. We were able to get a leaf blower, battery and charger for $179.00 plus tax, and the battery online was $169.00.

            Back at home I put the blower together, it is mostly like my ole blower, and I put the battery on the charger. Then we decided to change things and go to supper, aka date night, on Wednesday instead of Thursday. The food was good, and the service was also good.

            Food eaten we returned to the homestead, and I did a little testing of the new blower, it worked as expected. We did sit outside until about 6:30 yesterday, the weather was good, and the days are getting longer.
